In this third book in Marissa Meyer’s bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and prevent her army from invading Earth. Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl trapped on a satellite since childhood who’s only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen … screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she’s being forced to work for Queen Levana, and she’s just received orders to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice. When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is splintered. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a higher price than she’d ever expected. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai, especially the cyborg mechanic. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

I honestly didn’t see the girl trapped on a satellite turning into a Rapunzel retelling, but it totally works. I love how the author embeds plot points from the original fairy tale into this futuristic saga in ways that actually make perfect sense. I won’t geek out about it too much because I don’t want to give away spoilers, but if you like the …
** spoiler alert ** I just died.
So, I’m gonna try to give an organized review like any good person, but if I start fangirling near the end. Well . . . Just know this series is awesome.
First of all, that ending. This is so messed up. It is so messed up. YOU DON’T END BOOKS LIKE THAT!! Also, I have been waiting THREE books for Kai to kiss Cinder …
I loved this book, it was so different from the other two and but it was just as entertaining and I was amazed by her diversity to keep this series fresh and just so fun. a must read
This entire series is unique and a fun read. The characters are so endearing and the story line is a wonderful retelling!
I’ll admit I was a little slower warming up to this book than the others in the series. Possibly because I was so busy getting my own book ready for publication. But also because it is so long. However, once I hit the half-way mark I was all in. I love her characters. They are flawed but relatable, even though it’s a fantasy.
This book makes you want to read all day and night and rush through the thrilling story. I also love the spin on the classic tale that every person either knows or has heard of truly a fun read.
This entire series (“The Lunar Chronicles” comprised of 4 books: Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter) is one of the best book series I’ve read in a long time. I can’t read fast enough to find out what happens. It’s a somewhat twisted take on Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Sleeping Beauty. It’s too complicated to give a brief …
The literal best. This book introduced Cress, who is based on Rapunzel. I truly loved her and Thorne’s interactions, as the morals taught through them and the sheer pure love between them was amazingly well-developed. Also, THAT ENDING!! YES
READ THIS SERIES (IT’S ALL SO GOOD) BUT ESPECIALLY THIS BOOK
Cress is the third installment of the Lunar Chronicles. The series is based off four fairy tales with many unexpected twists.
Cress was a playful twist on the fairy tail of Rapunzel. Her entry into the world of Linh Cinder was so heart felt that you couldn’t help being right there with her as her world is turned upside down in a good way. Fun, adventurous and crazy awesome. Just the kind of book that I adore reading. I look forward to how this incredible girl’s character …
