In this third book in Marissa Meyer’s bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and prevent her army from invading Earth. Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl trapped on a satellite since childhood who’s only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen … screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she’s being forced to work for Queen Levana, and she’s just received orders to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice. When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is splintered. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a higher price than she’d ever expected. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai, especially the cyborg mechanic. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

CRESS was great. I really love the voice Marissa Meyer creates with these books. It’s fun and original and I really had no idea how the ending would happen! I realized recently that I love these books so much because they parallel The Nogiku Series a bit, although my series is not in the YA category.
I don’t know if I liked Cinder or Cress (the book) better… I definitely like Cress and Thorne second best (next to Cinder and Kai) of the couples in the Lunar Chronicles, though!Cress is the only one of the four female heroines in the series whose name doesn’t seem to directly relate to her fairytale counterpart. You can tell by the cover that …
We have made it to Cress or Rapunzel . I’m always amazed when reading this series how well everything comes together, we have all the different story lines and fairy tales and yet it all comes together as one awesome story.
I rather enjoyed Cress in all her awkward and dreamy(ness) . She was fun to read and to see and follow her growth throughout …
I honestly loved this book so much! I absolutely adore the Lunar Chronicles and my fingers are itching to turn the pages of Winter but I’m certain I’ll be devastated when I finish the series. Thank you Marissa Meyer for yet another wonderful tale! The characters in the story are so lovable, the romance and action is so intense and the world is so …
Waiting for movie!
You know when the story is so captivating that you forget to take notes? That was me while reading Cress. I was so completely absorbed that, unlike with the first two books, I couldn’t find the time to write down anything. These characters blinded me to anything else and as for the plot… I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t bother to predict …
Phenomenal
These stories just get better and better.
Book 3 in this series. This book is about Cress. Basically Rapunzel. Instead of a tower, she’s a prisoner in a satellite for the Lunar queen. But she helps Cinder instead. Now she’s on the run with the rest of the crew.
I just love it when authors can take a well-known fairytale and give it their own spin. The characters are memorable, the plot unique and engaging. I cared about what happened to the whole crew. Marissa Meyer has quickly become one of my favorite authors.
Loved this as much as Scarlet. Very fast paced. Difficult to put down. I am an adult and my 12 year old daughter considers this one of her favorite series.
After reading Cress, I’m less sure of my suspicion of Torin. I think I enjoy the interactions of Cress and Thorne most of all the main characters. Especially toward the end. I love how this series keeps adding new twists on different fairy tales, but intertwines them so flawlessly into the main story that we began with Cinder. With a little peek …
Cress is the story of Rapunzel if Rapunzel were a sheltered lunar hacking expert. Stolen from her parents at a young age, Cress is a lunar shell locked away to live out her days as Sybil’s best programmer. That is until Cinder launches a plan to save her and further the team’s goals of overthrowing Levana. In the third installment of The Lunar …
Book 3 in the Lunar Chronicles series and we are introduced to Cress who has been locked away in a satellite for 7 years. We also continue to see Cinder and Scarlet as we read to see if Levana will be stopped. This book has non stop action and just when you think it will slow to catch your breath it starts again! I cannot wait to keep reading …
This its my favorite book it of this series. I love Cress and Thorne’s relationship! They are so cute together!!!
In this reimagined tale of Rapunzel, Cress has to be rescued from the satellite she’s been living on. Being the Lunar Queen’s programmer has its perks, but Cress wants to live a full life. Cinder and the others Cress had helped will rescue her – but the cost is great to all.
Without getting into the story, I’m just going to say that I struggled …
I chose to read Cress as part of the Summer Reading program with my local library. I’m so glad that I was challenged to read outside my normal genres. Cress is a fantastic retelling of Rapunzel with a SCI-FI twist. I was immediately caught up in the story. It’s well written and nicely paced. This book was hard to put down.
Recommend to those who …
I still really like this series. I couldn’t help but like Cress immediately and figured out pretty quickly who she is. This book is fast-paced and packed with action, but still covers only a short period of time. I thought Cinder’s plan about how to stop the wedding was pretty good and pulled off remarkably well. Anyway, I still like it.
Note: …
This is the third book in the Lunar Chronicles series and we follow our main character Cress as she is helping Cinder and her gang with informations regarding Levana and waiting to be rescued. This is a futuristic retelling of Rapunzel but instead of being stuck in a tower, she is stuck in a satellite.
We now follow the perspectives of Cress, …
In my opinion, the best of the Lunar Chronicles series. I thought the idea of our leads getting split up was perfect for their development and worked great for the plot. 5 stars because it’s better than the rest of the series.
