It had a slow start but I love this author so I kept reading. The story got better and better the further into the story I got. I can’t wait for the sequel!
It starts out a little slow but the ending is amazing!! Can’t wait for book 2.
Fantastic book ! Loved everything about it ! I hope she continues this series with another book.
Wow, wow, wow.
THATWASSOGOOD
Classic SJM with an adult twist.
Amazing world building, fabulous multi-layered characters, a kick-ass heroine, an angsty slow-burn romance, angels, demons and everything in between.
Do yourself a favour and ‘add to bag’ immediately!
BE STILL MY BEATING HEART!!!
Advice lovelies be patient with this beauty. The world building is lengthy so you might be tempted to skip it but don’t, it is fantastic and totally worth it! The whole book was outstanding to me, but the last 200 pages are full on action, heartbreak, intensity, and edge of your seat MAGIC!!
“That’s the point of it, Bryce…Of life. To live, to love, knowing that it might all vanish tomorrow. It makes everything that much more precious.”
Bryce and Hunt are 100% MC gold!! You feel their chemistry from their first meeting and it just keeps building. Not going to lie, I was a bit disappointed in the lack or romance but after finishing the book it didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. Yet, I don’t think they should call it “romance” because of the severe lack of it. Even with that small con it is one of my favorite books of the year and maybe of all time.
After the sheer magic that is House of Earth and Blood I can’t wait to see what Maas comes up with for book two!!
Not my thing. I couldn’t read it
One of my top books for 2021!
This was FANTASTIC! Absolutely could not put it down. I love Sarah’s writing style and the worlds she somehow imagines, develops and puts into words for us! I felt the characters were developed well and I enjoyed getting to see multiple points of view to get the whole story/whole picture. This book was full of fantasy but yet with a modern day feel to it. And holy angst -yes please Hunt! I could not get enough of this story!
Couldn’t put it down. This got me out of a slump and I love Sarah Maas
Wow. What a ride. This review is spoiler free.
Yes. It took me 3 weeks to read this book. You know if it takes me that long, I either lost interest or it was too long and I felt myself needing breaks – option two when it comes to this 803 page fantasy book. This is my first book by Sarah J Maas, and oh my. What a wonderful imagination she had! I felt like she has almost too much imagination with all the info telling in the first 300 pages of this book. In a nut shell, there was too much information – it was overwhelming! And as mentioned, I needed reading breaks!
HOWEVER KEEP GOING because get pass that halfway part, and this story shows its true colours. It’s stops explaining things (that didn’t need further explaining) and it FLOWS into an amazing action fantasy drama and a little romance that I honestly lost sleep for. I went from needing breaks, to not being able to take breaks.
I gasped, I shouted WHAT, I laughed and I cried from page 509 to 800, I felt all these emotions and made me grateful that I kept reading.
Overall. Don’t get overwhelmed. Keep reading. It’s well worth it.
This book ended up being one of my favourites for 2020 so far.
It was good. And the twist was amazing even the thrillers don’t have that kind of twist. Can’t understand why there were so many slangs, adult book doesn’t have to have so many slangs. And felt like length of book would have been much shorter if not dragged. Other than that villain was amazing and last 200 pages were intriguing.
I love this book so much, if u like books with plot twist u would never see coming u need to read this book
Through Love, All Is Possible
This book killed me. It was so well written that I felt it all. I was there with Bryce and Danika. Hunt , Ruhn, Connor. My heart hurts.
I hated this book, it was so good. I felt the pain in every loss.
Well done Sara J Maas, another magnificent book.
There are not enough words. I loved it.
This is my favorite book in a very long time, maybe of all time. I laughed, I cried, I truly felt all the emotions. I related to the characters and grew with them. I was hooked from the beginning, despite the slowness of the first half of the book. My only complaint is that some of the word choices were a bit strange.
You want a great fantasy world building book with great characters in it. Look no further than another great Sara J Mass book.
I’m not much of a fantasy reader but I absolutely LOVED this book. It was recommended by a couple of people I work with, and they were raving about it. I thought the slow burn romance between the two characters was terrific. And again, not being a fantasy reader, I have to say it was an easy read. At almost 800 pages, I was surprised how fast I got through it. I can’t wait for the next one to come out.
I was surprised by the constant twists and turns in this modern urban fantasy. It’s a long one but never boring, you won’t regret picking it up.
This book brought tears to my eyes. I could not put down the book at all because I knew that I would regret it if I did. Unexpected twists, bond between two friends and the steamy scenes was all I needed. I would so recommend this book to all the readers who love fantasy. This book will definitely win your hearts, torment your souls and yet leave you wanting for more.
I think the writing was extraordinary but I would not recommend to young ages
