OH MY MOTHER F*****G GAWD!! In ALL my years of reading romance, I have NEVER ONCE read about an anti-heroine before and I just got say, Magnolia is the BEST darn anti-heroine I EVER could of imagined! She is by far a total bad a** and I LOVED her. I seriously have a girl crush on her. Bold, ballsy, feisty as hell, she is EVERYTHING! And Moses….WOOOOOOOOOW! I didnt’ think there could be another anti-hero I would love more than Lachlain Mount but by god, there is. Moses is an extremely charming show stopper, let me tell you!
Moses has charisma and charm and arrogance in spades. His teasing ways with Magnolia made me smile and my heart flutter. I haven’t felt THAT kind of flutter since Mount and I am MIND BLOWN about that!
The first book in The Magnolia Duet is spectacular, completely exhilarating and leaves me feeling speechless. Like for reals! I am having a very hard time putting words together that makes sense on how VERY VERY MUCH I LOVED Creole Kingpin! I haven’t felt this kind of excitement and butterflies since The Mount Trilogy. Believe me, you will want to make Creole Kingpin your MUST READ of the freaking year! Its devastatingly, heart melting good with a cliffhanger that will no doubt in my mind leave you breathless and shocked as hell! Creole Kingpin gets a MILLION AND ONE SHOW STOPPING STARS!
An OUTSTANDING second chance romance with sensuous feels and old Southern charm! MUST-READ!
Full of suspense and pure Southern charm, CREOLE KINGPIN, author Megan March takes her readers to a part of NOLA that tourists rarely see. While CREOLE KINGPIN is the first book of Ms. March’s Magnolia Duet it could be a complete romance novel by itself. As a part of Ms. March’s phenomenal character development, readers are introduced to Magnolia Maison, the recently retired “Queen” of New Orleans who finds that trouble has found her even as she is just walking to ask a courtesy of her best friend’s husband. Something she is loath to do, but it must be done. As if that wasn’t enough to put her nerves on edge, Magnolia sees some VERY familiar eyes staring back at her through the window of a business across the street from her destination. Eyes that she hasn’t seen for fifteen years. The eyes of a man who left her, tore her heart out, and trampled her naive soul. Eyes her hurting soul called a ghost while her heart and body still longed to see. The amount of angst in CREOLE KINGPIN is perfect, the story is both complex and compelling, and the page-turning action is non-stop right up to the last word. I leapt at the opportunity to voluntarily read a copy of CREOLE KINGPIN and am now voluntarily submitting my HONEST 5+STAR review! The story is amazing, complex on multiple levels, and TERRIFIC entertainment. The best part of the cliffy at the end is that there is MORE to come on April 14th! So, whether you read it right away or wait until the beginning of April, I STRONGLY suggest that you should purchase your copy of CREOLE KINGPIN, today! Happy pages!
SPOILER FREE! Okay! So here is the deal! I cannot really tell you anything about this other than it is about Magnolia. Yes, that Magnolia that we have seen throughout previous books. The ex-Madam and Keira’s best friend.
But Magnolia has some secrets, including an ex-love that disappeared on her years ago and she never really got over. They were together for a short, but intense time and he had to leave while she had to stay in NOLA.
But now she thinks she is seeing him. Why would he return after fifteen years? And if it is him, what exactly does he want from her?
I love Magnolia. She is smart, and full of fire and sass. But what she does not always show is the big, caring heart she has and how much she longs to be accepted and truly loved. She is confident and in control on the outside, but also has hidden self-esteem issues and lacks trust. She wants to be seen as tough, invincible, and independent, but she also has to put on that front since she has never had anyone to lean on…except him all those years ago.
It seems that change is coming her way, but she has no idea exactly what she is in for.
This is an emotional and raw second-chance love story full of secrets, regrets, and heartbreak. But there is also humor, swoon, mystery, and suspense. I loved Magnolia and this man that has resurfaced. I love how they get under each other’s skin, can see each other’s vulnerability, and have this connection that just never could be broken. There is definitely a reaction, attraction, power plays, and unbelievable chemistry. But there is also understanding, acceptance, and much needed support.
Magnolia has always stood alone..but does she have to anymore? And even if he stands with her, will it be enough to weather the storm that is coming?
*Note: when I wrote this review, the hero had not been announced publicly by the author so I kept it spoiler free.

Creole Kingpin starts with us being introduced to Magnolia Maison. She is strong, self-made woman who knows who she what she wants. She is also running late for a meeting when she thinks she’s seen a ghost. Her ghost is Moses Gaspard. He claims he’s come back for Magnolia after being apart 15 years but she’s not believing anything he says.
While trying to figure out what’s happening with Moses, Magnolia finds herself in the middle of her own crazy. The police want to question her about a murder, and now she’s has a lot of reasons to worry about her safety.
As usual when we have multiple books in a series, Meghan leaves us on a cliffhanger! We also get characters from previous books with Mount and Kiera.
