Murder and free recipes! What could go wrong?Book 3 of 6 in the Baker Street Mysteries- well reviewed for being clean, funny, sweet mysteries.Georgie Tanner’s excitement to be part of her historic town’s annual Franco-American commemorative charity event, but fun turns to tragedy when Gainesville’s least favorite resident drops dead at the party. In the chaos that follows the town harpy’s death, … follows the town harpy’s death, a priceless heirloom goes missing–the sword George Washington gave to the war hero who detained Benedict Arnold.
While Georgie is always ready to help her town solve a mystery, this one turns personal when someone suspects that Georgie may have been the one to serve the toxic dish! She must identify the culprit before she becomes the primary suspect… although as the investigation progresses, it’s not long before being a murder suspect is the least of her worries.

Georgie Tanner must find the killer of the town’s least favorite person during the town celebration. She must find a sword presented to a hero by George Washington and in the process stay out of jail for murder. Can she do it?
Historical information used to the story’s advantage, you think you know who the murderer is ……..
Georgie’s funds have been a mite slow coming in with the tourist wane so she’s taken on a side gig as server at a posh dinner. And wouldn’t you know it, just when it all seems to be going well, someone’s missing from the dinner table, and is found dead in another room. Anaphylactic shock? Or murder?
Georgie plans to find out before her caterer friend is left holding the can!
And it looks like things between her and Frank are really starting to heat up! Another great time spent with what are quickly taking their place among my favourite characters!
This was just an OK cozy mystery read. Georgie is working as a waitress at a fancy dinner when a woman is found dead. She sets out to solve the murder working with her boyfriend, a cop. It was obvious who the victim was going to be at the beginning of the book and the killer was just as an obvious. There really was not much to the story. There was no character development. It was a quick read but when I finished I was not inclined to read another.

I purchased Creme Brulee to Slay by CeeCee James and this review was given freely.
A interesting mystery mix of enemies, frenemies, and cheaters balance with the sweetness of aunt Cecilia, the sweet romance of Georgie and Frank, and an interesting tidbit concerning Oscar’s work years. Unfortunately, the delivery was altered by the editing.
