McKAYI wasn’t the one who broke her but I played my part.She came to us when she was ten. I raised her. I loved her. I taught her how to survive in a world of evil men. But it wasn’t enough.ADAMI wasn’t the one who saved her but I did my best.She needed me as much as I needed her. Bought and paid for on the auction block. But not for the reasons you think. She was my weapon.DONOVANI wasn’t the … not for the reasons you think. She was my weapon.
DONOVAN
I wasn’t the one who lied to her but I hid her truth. She was broken before I got there. Wild and angry. Defiant and bratty. But she trusted me most. She loved me best.
So I set her free.
Indie Anna Accorsi is a woman lost in her past.
A pretty little nightmare.
A gorgeous piece of misery.
A mess of lovely darkness.
She is creeping beautiful.
And now we want her back.

OMG
I knew this book would be great but Julie has surpassed all my expectations and introduced a completely new world with fabulously complex characters and mixed them with old favourites and actually calling one old and I’m sure the person who said it will pay lol
And found a way in which some well loved heroes may be alive and not dead as we believed
Oh you are such a clever writer
We have gotten to know and love these new ex company people and made an opinion and at the end we find they lied and the plot is even more twisted and wonderful and I need the next book
Omg my mind is BLOWN. This is truly an amazing, crazy and a creeping beautiful story. I am absolutely in love with this story and of course the characters. Once you start reading you will definitely be hooked. Another twisty mind f*** book that is an absolute must read.
Bravo, my mind is well and truly blown! A Brilliant, Mind-Bending Romantic Suspense! This is one twisted…roller coaster of a book. There are intersecting characters that show up in this spin-off of the company series among a few other characters but this is a completely new series and you DO NOT need to read any of the prior books to understand what is happening. Core McCay raised and trained her, Adam Boucher bought her yet calmed her and Donavan Couture was her protector yet could he be trusted? All of them had a part of molding Indie Anna Accors into the weapon she is today. A company player, an asset…an assassin but, behind it all she was still just a girl and they all loved her. Indie shows up at McKay’s after being gone for four years needing his help to find someone. He agrees but isn’t sure what’s truly going on or what memories helping her might unleash. “You’re not like other people. None of us are. We don’t fit in anywhere but in the world of the company.” This goes back and forth between a 14 year time period to give you the full story of all these characters and how they found their way into each others lives. Each gives a part of themselves to Indie that bonds them all together. Once you’re in “the company” you never really can leave…can you? My mind is blown with all the twists and information passing through this brilliant book. I really cannot say too much but get ready and enjoy! There are so many revelations unveiled with each turn of the page. I could not put this down! This does end leading into the next book. Told in multiple POV
Mind blown!! This book was so good and even better for being in audio! Edge of my seat good!
ARC received from author.
Where do I even begin with this review? The synopsis leads you into believing it’s of the RH/menage theme (which is true), but something I generally dislike across most authors except J.A. Huss. I knew that she would take my dislike and turn it into love, because this is what happens every time. She blew it out of the water this time! Pay attention to the ‘suspense’ label this book has because it’s no joke. This one is suspenseful!
This book tells the story of Indie, a Company child who Adam was convinced to purchase by McKay. She comes with a load of psychological training done on her. Adam purchases her to be a Company child and be trained to kill and run his jobs for him. That’s the first part of her life. Consequences from this overshadow the rest of the book.
There are three guys: Adam, the one who buys her, McKay, who convinces him to buy her, and Donavan. Each of them play their own role in her life. Adam is the stoic father, goes to church, and is the “owner” of her. McKay is her friend. He’s the one who raised her growing up, did things with her, became her buddy. Donavan popped by when he could and conducted sessions on her, training her mind and blocking what they needed. In turn, he became her confidant.
This book is told in the present and the past, with the past eventually catching up to the present. What helped make this book more interesting and less confusing with the multi perspectives was who told what part. When Indie shows up on his doorstep after four years, McKay tells the present. He does a lot of hinting toward the unknown of four years ago and her disappearance. Donavan’s chapters only focused on the session recordings and his notes. These chapters usually aligned with what was occuring in the book. Adam’s chapters focused on her past. When he saw her, bought her, and all the years following. His chapters are vital for seeing how the past played out and how they lead up to McKay’s chapters. Eventually the book catches up and we see Donavan and Adam in the present with Indie’s reappearance. Indie also tells the book in the past, but from a different parallel perspective to Adam.
This book is hard to explain without you reading it. See, there’s a fourth guy. Because while there are three wonderful men there with her, they are adults and she is a child. Indie falls in love with the boy next door and plays out her child and teen years with him. What happens with him also is vital in the reason for her running away. Her chapters focus on her life with him, and fighting the guys to be with him.
Needless to say, there is so much background of them all and the situation. By the time the end of the novel came, I was exploding.
What makes this book stand out so much is the lack of romance in it. As much of this book is told with her growing up, we get to see the forms bond between them all. It’s real love that is coming our way because I just read the deepest of loves: parental, sibling, friend, and lover, all mixed together for each man. Although there is some sex, it is such a minor aspect of this book. (Minor, as in not overshadowing the plot. One scene is vital to the plot.) The present focuses on answers, reconnecting, and setting up for the next book. Going back to the RH theme, maybe I typically dislike them because we’re so often thrown into them. This book builds such a deep relationship between them all that I would cry if this didn’t be RH. Funny, right? While reading, I fell in love with each of the guys. Because nothing happened for so many years, I saw how much they deeply cared for her and would do anything for her. Indie says so herself – she can’t just have one; she needs them all. She does. Because this isn’t another RH that focuses on sex and I don’t feel that she needs to choose just one. No, there is no just one for her. They are all equal in this, in their caring and love for her, and her them, that I would give up this series if only one guy was chosen. No one is more surprised to read this review than I am.
The plot of the book is unique, interesting, and captivating. I was fighting myself at work to not just ignore everything and read. I was so hooked by this book. This is 6 stars all the way!!! I think I need a physical copy of this one for my shelves.
Creeping Beautiful is a fantastic romantic thriller! Indie is amazing and resilient, despite her past, and I loved all the main characters. Having the different POVs for Indie, Adam, McKay and Donovan gave us great insight into these four, and it made the pieces of the story blend together perfectly. I couldn’t help but love them all!
I love JA Huss! I don’t think I’ve read anything of hers I didn’t love and this is no exception. This is a confusing book at the start, it didn’t start to make real sense till about halfway through and by the end it left me craving more I can not wait for book two!
Wow! This book was twisted! It was dark and suspenseful! I have never read anything like it, and I couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait to read the next one!!
This is the first book in a new series by Ms. Huss and already I am impatiently waiting for the next book. There are so many things going on with all the major players in this book and we find out the secrets that each has been hiding from each other. Indie Anna (yes I keep saying Indiana as in Indiana Jones..lol) came to live with McKay and Adam since she was 10 years old and Donovan has been coming to see her since that time. However, Adam had other reasons to have Indie in his home. She was an investment and McKay was her trainer even though he took on the role of a parental figure for her as well. Donovan was there to help Indie process things mentally when she was going off the rails or after going on jobs. We start in present day to introduce some of the characters and then it flashes back to 14 years ago when Indie came into their lives and then it would move forward 10 years from that point which is when a tragic event occur that “broke” them all apart. Present day, Indie wants to see the 3 guys again but she “pretends” as if nothing had happened in the last 4 years and it is up to the 3 guys to help her remember. Besides helping her remember what happened, they realize that they are also dealing with someone that has control over Indie that not even she is aware. While all 3 of the men have feelings for Indie and she in turn has feelings for all 3 of them, the mystery of what happened to Indie, who knows what and who doesn’t is my pull into this series because I love the romance of the 4 of them, I want to know what all the mystery is all about and who is behind what. This series is going to keep me thinking until I get all the books read (so they have to come out quickly)!
I am a person who loves sleep. I could eat it everyday, but I’m not a fan of something interfering with my favorite meal.
HOWEVER!
This book is totally worth the book hangover I’m still trying to recover from, it’s just that awesome. All four characters are a trip (with luggage), yet it seems to work for them when it comes to their interactions with each other. Ms. Huss outdid herself with this first book, the twists that seem to happen frequently yet they’re the perfect amount to set the stage for the interactions between Indie Anna, McKay, Adam and Donovan. The character development is great, each with plenty of layers and depth that’s slowly revealed over this first part, and I can’t wait to see how things will play out in the next book.
So many twist and turns. What a great mind blowing book. Indie, McKay, Adam and Donovan just wow. From the beginning I was shell shocked at how messed up their world is. I realize that everyone one of these characters plays an important role in Indie’s life. I can’t wait to get more into what else is going to happened next.
Creeping Beauty is definitely a dark, mysterious, romance novel, but as usual I loved this book as much as all of the other books that I have read by author, J.A. Huss. The character of Indie, especially when we first meet her, is so sad and so misunderstood, but she is also an independent woman who can take care of herself. The three men in her life: Adam, McKay, and Donavan are very mysterious and lonely people, but they each seem to care about Indie in their own special ways. This book is unlike any other romance novel that I have ever read, and I loved it. I’m excited to read the next book in this series.
WOW! What a twisted mind f**k!! I can honestly say I’ve never read anything like this. It was unputadownable, with absolutely stunning writing.
There are so many moving components and even now that I’ve finished it I want to go back and reread it to see what I could have potentially missed because the story twists and weaves and then loops back around then BAM I was just knocked off my a**
Creeping Beautiful is told from the POV of four individuals; Adam, McKay, Donovan, and Indie. It weaves back and forth over fourteen years and during that timespan you are constantly wondering who is telling the truth and who exactly is the good side in all of this.
While this is not a harem or menage type of book, there is an underlying chemistry between the four of them, but it’s not what you might think, nor what you’d ever expect. This story is all about setting up their backstory and really flushing out the “wizard of oz” and while this is nothing like that fantastical story this book is about “Dorothy and her friends”.
Okay, I love a good story about antiheros. What drew me in even more was trying to figure out WHO that exactly was in Creeping Beautiful. With four different POV’s weaving in and out it was hard to pinpoint exactly who was on the up and up, but each one is basically a villain in their own way.
Adam gets painted the worst by Indie. He probably has the most responsibility as the protector, organizer, leader, overall daddy figure, etc…He is the man who bought Indie from the island she was on, but really he won the bid from any number of men bidding on her so was he her rescuer when he also had a purpose for her in the end. Po-ta-toe, Po-tah-to.
McKay is a package deal when it comes to Adam, but he is also the one who takes care of Indie on the day to day things. He cooks, cleans, and bathes her, but he also trains her and turns her into the lethal weapon she is. Is he just as easily to blame for how she is or is he the only normal she ever really had?
Donovan is a genius child himself. Heading to medical school while he was just a teenager, but he was also the one who convinced Adam to purchase Indie with the promise that he would also be the one to treat her. Donovan isn’t exactly who he seems, but neither are Adam and McKay.
Indie was just a child when she came to live with them. A child with a purpose. She would become a trained assassin, a weapon to use at their disposal, but at what cost?
Can a killer ever have a normal life afterwards? Can you just become a housewife, a mother, get a normal job? All three men knew the answer to that one question, but they also refused to give up on the girl that came to live with them at the age of ten.
Creeping Beautiful is wild!! It ends in a way I never saw coming which will make the next installment a page turner for sure.
All I can say is WOW, this book was truly unique and unlike anything I had read. I’m new to Huss and what a introduction! The characters are written beautifully and are so strong you can feel every emotion. Each man is something truly special. I was sucked in so completely I couldn’t put it down. Not a conventional love story by far but normal love is over rated. Easily five stars and highly recommend.

Three vastly different Company men and one very dangerous young girl make up an extremely unlikely team of assassins. And they have been keeping some very volatile secrets… from the world… and from each other…
Indie Anna Accorsi was saved from certain death, but her training under the dark shadow organization known as The Company has turned her brain into… something else. And the only way to ensure she doesn’t go from knowingly damaged to off-the-hinges insane is by feeding her thirst for violence… in a very controlled way…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Creeping Beautiful was the suspenseful, sexy and utterly engrossing introduction to the complicated relationship shared between Indie, Adam, McKay and Donovan. Indie is not the same young girl who was taken in by the dubious trio of men a decade ago. With their mission to help her live a stable, yet operational existence, she is sent on jobs to help to keep her fulfilled… and challenged just enough to slake her stronger urges. But when their complex arrangement changes into something much more carnal, nothing will ever be easy for the group again…
Indie Anna Accorsi is an enigma, and after her disappearance four years ago, the men who love her are left trying to piece together the Indie who has suddenly returned to their lives.
Adam Boucher, (Core) McKay, and Donovan Couture are not good men, but they have dedicated themselves to the role of taking care of Indie, for better or for worse. But when the boy next door threatens the life they have built for Indie, the truth of their feelings for each other will come out… whether they want them to or not. You see, Indie loves all of them equally… but so very, very differently…
Whew, the suspense and intricate storyline of this book had me absolutely glued to it’s pages from the very beginning. From some literal palm sweating scenes, to a small taste of the sexiness that is to come, this story expertly laid the groundwork for what kind of craziness we can expect to come next in this series. From the relationship between the four main characters, their secrets that are believed to have been buried and forgotten, and the danger that certainly lurks for everyone involved, this book is a wild ride from beginning to end… and I’d do it all again…
The next book in this series is titled Pretty Nightmare, and is set to release in May 2020.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
WTF JULIE HUSS??? Damn this is Mind Blow Out!!! Believe Me, Ya just gotta read it, live it, breathe it, then figure it all out again…Just what the F*ck did I read? I dunno exactly what happens next but at times I felt like Eneril Lagasse Yelling OUT BAM Over and Over!!! Thinking yep I got it, but yep I’d be all kinds of Wrong!!! LOL
You just got jump in and read this one!!
To Me, This is in my mind is a “Classic Huss Mindf*ck! Once you start you are in this world of people, this new creation at Old Home and there is just just no leaving it…not even on the last page! I dunno if itll be evil or good but we gonna keep going to find out All of it Because we are going find out a bunch of stuff about the Company, about people we have wanted to know but left to guess and its lots of CRAZY in this world, you will find that out quick!
Indie, McKay, Adam an Donovon….Nathan St, James who is the Smartest, Slyest, Dirtiest, Meanest, Realist, Truthfulness, Sexiest? The Best at doing Their job? Biggest Storyteller? Who just pushed our buttons the hardest well they all did that’s who.
That’s right “Each One tells us in their own POV, Nathan doesn’t just the first 4, the family they create and it is a beautiful family, comes from a screwed up place and the very beginning is the True Company! You Just Feel it All Around You!! Its the game of figuring it all out but ya gotta read it yourself to do that!!
Julie does her best as usual building us up to a CRAZY Ending that isn’t even anywhere on the same train I was on…Nope got totally Mindf*cked as only Julie can do!!
Indie I just cant wait to figure her out more and exactly what Donovon’s plan was from the crazy Island, because I don’t think its the same at the end…or I thought or I dunno but yeah did he know??
Great world building, Fantastic characters!!! McKay is my favorite, Adam then Indie well and Indie is 3rd because well I just cannot yet figure her out just yet. But once you step into this world you are in and there is NO going back, you are sucked in quick and you dunno what exactly is happening at Old Home, what the heck happened before them even and in the end with Adam and ready for War? WTH?
This book is each of these 4 peoples minds or well how they want us to know it…and if it wasn’t wrote in the chapter of who was who you’d know pretty quick because they are all so so very different but have one Big thing in common, how they LOVE! Then its how they breathe, how they feel, how they get angry and fall and pick each other back up, their for each other. This book it gives you all of that. The feels, the character buildup is one of the best I’ve felt reading in awhile. It is long but you should still tear through it and all I kept wondering was…what’s in the damn woods? Wellahelluva lot more than I got that first round had, even had to toggle around a bit afterwards just refreshing my mind and will also do it again but had to also get my review in, because I am Late and sorry about that yall, Freaking Life!!! Yes I was given an ARC but I still Always buy the book, because 1- you gotta have the EOBS because its just part of reading Huss books even if its not about it, ya know?
So Three deaths and sick as hell all in one month so I was in emotional overdrive going into it but I couldn’t wait regardless of the crazy place my mind was and at the end, well I think I was standing right with them rethinking everything at Mags Birthday Party…Yeah this is Great Stuff Julie honestly, you just keep growing woman and if felt like we ALL been just waiting for “Old Home!”
Oh and your EOBS was so on point for me this last month I had tears! You rock it Every time Julie Huss, never worry WTF someone might think, Ever just keep on keeping on because we all Love your writing and YOU! Thank You, Every damn time!!!
This story is more than 5 stars!!! This is my second book by JA Huss and I am loading my kindle with more!!! Company purchased Indie at age 10 and each one of them train her to be something of an assassin. The story is told by each of her trainers and her best friend. It is full of twist and turns and will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions while doing it. I can’t wait to read what’s next and i honestly volunteered to review this arc.
I loved everything about this book from the beautiful cover to the teasers. It had all the JA Huss feels and then some. She’s bringing back old school which I am so excited about I have a feeling this series is going to be twisted on a whole other level then what we normally get from Huss. In this first book, we get a look at all the characters and hear the back story. Then we are left with a huge cliffhanger. So be prepared.
OMG ! What and intense and riveting read this was! ” I was on the seat of my pants the entire time until the end.” Omg ! I am still reeling for this book even after reading it.
Talk about complicated characters “well”, this one was loaded with them as they were all mysterious and dangerous and all held mind blowing secrets.
I cannot explain how much I loved this story as it was complicated and intriguing and mysterious and one that you knew eventually would turn into one heck of a complex love triangle. There were parts unraveling throughout the story I did not see coming.All the characters simply amazing,The plot itself was a little unnerving but, drew you in from the very first pages so much so you could not put it down.”The ending omg ! what a shocker and had there been another book I would have picked it up a dove right back in again and would have huddle under the covers in bed and not come out until that book was finished too.”I can’t wait to see what happens next.The story mind boggling at times it was a bit confusing but, when turned the pages and the story start unfolding the players all started making sense.
Final thoughts
“This is the best romantic suspense read for us so far for 2020! ” “We didn’t want the story to end!”
4.5 stars for – Creeping Beautiful – by J.A. Huss. This book is everything you love about Julie’s writing and so much more! Fans of The Company series will recognize some of these characters immediately and fall hard and fast for the twisted lies and deceit that become their norm.
As with most books by this author all I can tell you is you are in for one heck of a ride. This book starts off in a series of flashbacks to familiarize you with the main characters and their crazy lives but once you make it to the present you won’t know what hit you. Once you think you have things mostly figured out you will get hit yet again with more twists and turns. Can’t wait to read Pretty Nightmare next!
