OMG, this book is psychotic! The creep in this story is no joke. He’s got serious issues that you don’t see coming at first but believe me, they’re there! Jennifer Hillier’s debut novel: Creep takes readers on a steady ride to crazy town. It has elements of thriller/suspense, mystery, horror, addiction, crime, and detective fiction. It is truly unpredictable (OMG that ending!!!) and I was 100% invested in the storyline and characters! Can’t wait to continue on to the sequel: Freak. If you like thriller/mysteries with darker themes, check it out!!
My favorite quote:
“After thirty years as a cop, I’ve learned there are no rules when it comes to human behavior.”
Jennifer Hillier sucked me in and spit me out once again. This was my second book by this author and she is so great at telling a story that you feel you are there with the characters during their scariest and most uncomfortable moments. Ethan was a “creep” from the very beginning. He gave off the worst vibes. Sheila has herself in a bad predicament, how is she going to get out of this one and still keep the man she is in love with? Navigate this crazy rollercoaster and find out what happens to Shelia and Ethan. Let us know what you think of the crazy twist at the end that will force you to buy book two and know what happens next!
Creep is the perfect title for this psychological thriller. It opens with Dr. Sheila Tao telling her TA that their affair is over. She is getting married to a wonderful man, Morris. Ethan is livid, and although he has a girlfriend, Abby, that he adores, he craves Sheila, and the things they do together.
Ethan cannot let go of his obsession for Sheila, and takes steps to control her and expose her addiction to ruin her reputation.
This all leads to a chilling ending.
Quite impressive debut novel.
Creep was Jennifer Hillier’s debut novel and was a great read. A twisted tale of love gone wrong, Hillier’s characters are well-drawn and the plot is ripe with unexpected turns. If you like a good thriller to keep you up at night, this will definitely get the job done.
I could hardly put this book down! Very captivating story, and the twist at the end was shocking but made sense after reviewing the behavior of all the characters.
I enjoyed the flow of information, all of the character reflections were timed well, and were true nature. Very creepy / plausable story.
A sex addict / psychology professor – who is soon to be married – has a brief affair with her graduate assistant. She ends the relationship, but her rejected lover isn’t ready to let go. The book kept a good pace and held my interest, but it was not as good as Jar of Hearts. A good suspense about obsession.
I like scary, murder mysteries….
I have read the series…. Looking forward to “Jar of Hearts “.
