Kennedy and Max, the two main characters of this story, will make your heart swoon! Their attraction to each other is undeniable as the storyline moves along. Max, being the southern gentleman that he is, made me want to hop a place and find myself a cowboy to love! Their interactions and dialogue were funny at times while romantic and heartfelt at others. You are able to understand why Kennedy has the worries that she does about her physical appearance and it’s great to see her embrace herself with Max. The descriptions of city life in Chicago and country life in Tennessee shows a great contrast between these two characters as well. Yes, it is romantic but it’s not corny or “too gooshy” with emotions and feelings. With the addition of friends from both Max and Kennedy, along with Kennedy’s amazing assistant Hank, you get a well rounded view of both characters and root for them all along the way! Great read!
4 out of 5 stars
Kennedy Hewson is a busy woman , lets call her a workaholic . She has worked for so long she can afford the best of everything . She has a list of things that she has accomplished . When she heads to Tennessee for a job she is going to cross one more thing off her list. Where low and behold she runs into the man that can make her relax and give her a sense of home where as noone else ever has . Will she realize that the serenity of country living be the one thing that Kennedy has been missing her whole life .
I found that I had some things in common with the main character Kennedy . She is feisty but also kind of insecure because of her past and her weight . Also the one she loved broke her heart . So she throws herself into work and become the best that she can . As you read you actually see her come into her own and realize that she can have it all and still have the love she wanted.
Oh lets talk about Max , oh my goodness , he is a sweet southern gentleman . Who is oh so sexy and sweet . He meets Kennedy at the strip club where he makes her think he is the boss . He wants a relationship with someone who will love him for him. I would so bring him home to mom and dad . I truly liked him and Kennedy together as a couple . They so deserved to be with each other .
I sat down and started reading this book and I couldn’t put the book down. I was totally thinking I had so much in common with the main character . Its hard when you have been heavy to see yourself as skinny . There are ups and downs the characters go through in this book . You just really want to hug them both and say everything is ok . The author will take you on a very emotional rollercoaster ride through out this book . I read it in an evening and think that this would be a great beach read for your summer reading list
Loved it! I really enjoyed the characters and loved their banter back and forth with one another. It was heart warming and sweet.
When it comes to books about plus-size characters, the books can be either hit or miss for me. For majority of the authors of these books they seem to think that readers need it constantly repeated and beaten into them that their characters are/were plus size that they constantly repeat it, even when it’s not needed. I’m sad to say this is one of those books were we are constantly reminded that Kennedy was a plus-size woman and still sees herself at times as the big woman she was before.
I think what also just aggravated me about this story was the fact that for many of the issues Kennedy described as having before her weight loss journey, she would’ve had to have been morbidly obese, like so obese she was bed ridden. Trust me, as a plus-size woman myself and I have women in my family who are bigger than I am, they’ve never had issues getting into booths at restaurants and *gasp* they also fit in the plane seats!
All the body issues aside, I didn’t feel the chemistry between Max and Kennedy. I never really felt any kind of emotion or understood the emotions the characters felt for each other. Kennedy was almost robotic in her everyday routines and Max was just a dull person.
All in all I don’t think this book was for me. I didn’t even know that there was a prequel book to this one, and as much as I would like to know about Linc and Kennedy/Alexis’ story, I’m not sure I’ll even read that one.
Kennedy is a strong woman , she knows what she wait and now at this time she wants to show herself that her body is really how she wants it. To prove it too herself that she can do any thing (even exotic dancing. I love how this book shows a woman with terrible issue with how she looks and changing things to make herself better. She is the kind of woman , many of us want to be ( without the flaws). Max shows her the love and respect she needs. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but I will say that this is a must read book.
I loved this story so much! I totally identified with Kennedy and love how Max related with her. K’s emotions and insecurities reached out to me from the pages. I highly recommend this book.
Credence Woods by Alexandria Sure is a book that I could not put down. I read this entire book very quickly because I wanted to know what would happen next. The story line keeps you entertained and the characters shock you, as they are developed throughout the book. The book is relateable and makes you feel all sorts of emotions as you walk through this story. This is a newer author for me and I am really enjoying her work. I will definitely read more by this author. I give this book 5 solid stars.
Credence Woods by Alexandria Sure. This is the story of Kennedy Hewson a very successful business woman in Chicago. She’s had weight loss surgery and has done amazing losing weight. She feels better than she’s ever felt and she looks better than ever so why does she still feel like the fat girl in the room. With the help of her assistant Hank and her girlfriends Reva, Diana & Frances, Kennedy might be able to feel like the beautiful woman she is. After losing weight she took a strip dance class and the girls insisted she was so good she should do it at a real club. Getting up the nerve while out of town on business she finds the Fuzzy Hole and does her routine to wild cheers. She even meets Max the club owner who is sexy and rude all in one, why can’t she get him out of her mind. On top of all of these crazy things her ex Linc has found out she’s doing so great and he wants back with her. Never in a million years. This book is fun and sexy and full of wild adventures. I enjoyed it so much!
Credence woods written by Alexandria Sure was a good slow and savory type of read. It’s not one that pulls you in instantly, it has a slow build but there’s a lot of personal thoughts in it from Kennedy’s point of view. Her self doubts, fears, everything. It makes you stop and think about things and how you treat people along with the inner scars versus the outer. Max is a true southern gentleman throughout the story, he did have one flaw at the end and it was a big one to me. It does give you a happily ever after which is good based off of all the emotions you hit with Kennedy. I loved Hank, he added a funny and more relaxed feel to the story with his demanding ways.
Credence Woods is a stand-alone novel from author Alexandria Sure. This is my first read from this author and I loved every bit of this book.
I was captivated and couldn’t put this read down. This author has created an amazing writing style and some brilliant characters that really influence the story and me while reading it.
This book really made its way into my heart, I loved going along with Kennedy’s journey of self-discovery and trying to overcoming her insecurities. I loved her personality, her passion – there was just something about her I felt connected with from the start and would love to have her as a friend. Max, ticked all the right boxes for me from the get-go! There was nothing I could fault about him except where could I find myself a version of him. These two connected in the most unique way – but then to be brought together again in what could have been an awful accident truly proved something was real between them. These two hit it off from the start and their connection was undeniable and was amazing to see both of the let there walls down especially Kennedy with the stories from her past and the reasons for some of their decisions.
My only issue with this read was one, I’m sure there was a time jump within the story but it wasn’t made clear – one minute it seemed like a current thing then something was mentioned about the three months spent together and it kind of jumped. I would have liked that smoother and more known to the reader. Also, the ending seemed choppy, compared to how the rest of the book was.
But with that being said none of these things put me off and I loved this book anyway! It was heartwarming, emotional, lovable and just a brilliant romance read!
This book also has some amazing secondary characters that help tell the main character’s story even more – can we point out how incredible Hank is! Who wouldn’t want a friend or assistant like that?
This is a read that should be read by all. You will love these characters from the minute you meet them and stick with them through their journey until the end! Do not miss this read!
Credence Woods- Alexandria Sure
4-stars
Credence Woods by Alexandria Sure is a great story about finding oneself. It’s emotional, relatable and entertaining. Kennedy’s character is one that really intrigued me as she continued to battle her darkest insecurities and tried to find herself. It took me a little while to figure out that I had previously read about Kennedy in Alexandria’s book In the Pursuit of Charity. Once I came to that realization I enjoyed her story even more than I did before! With that being said I would recommend reading In The Pursuit of Charity before starting this one in order to better understand her character.
I was so entertained by her inner ramblings as she questioned everything, however, at times I found the story hard to follow as one conversation or thought quickly jumped to another, but this didn’t take away from the overall story.
I look forward to reading more form this author in the future!
Credence Woods, by Alexandria Sure, is a contemporary romantic comedy. This story was a riot to read, but at the same time, there is a lot of self discovery that is part of this story – moving on from the past and finding who you truly are apart from any misconceptions. I could not put this story down and read it in one sitting. I have previously read several other novels by this author and this one is my favorite, by far. Talk about one sexy alpha male that you can just feel the southern gentleman vibe dripping off of him – truly delicious. Kennedy is one independent woman that wants to stand on her own, not to obligated to another man – but you can feel that something about Max just changes all of that. This story was a ride I was ready and willing to embark, completely unforgettable!!
This is the first book I’ve read by Alexandria Sure and based on the blurb, it fit right in my wheelhouse. The story is about a woman who is at the top of her game yet still feels like she is lacking, due to “scars” from her past. It also is the story about a man who is a “southern gentleman” and knows what he wants in life.
The story line is a bit jagged at times, I feel like there was something I should know about a past relationship but don’t so it took me out of the story and made me go back to re-read to see if I missed something. I had not. Also, there is an established group of girlfriends and the story is written as if I already know their backstory. I’m assuming this book is part of a series.
This was a decent story and I enjoyed it in general. It’s a sweet romance that is a bit “too sweet” at times. I want to state that this could 100% be the mood I am in and I did not take away any points for this. It felt like the book wanted to be something darker, but the author didn’t want to take it “there”.
While this particular book is not one that I would re-read, I would read another book by this author.
Credence Woods is the first book I’ve read by Alexandria Sure. I was really excited to see where this story would lead as I read the synopsis and the blurb about the author and felt this could be a truly relatable, heartwarming read.
I am pleased to say I wasn’t disappointed in Kennedy’s story. The book read quickly and kept
me interested from start to finish. Kennedy is, much as I had hoped she would be, a relatable character. I love that throughout the book we are exposed to Kennedy’s inner dialogue, sometimes comical and other times just so real, giving us a glimpse into her insecurities and self esteem issues.
The secondary characters throughout the storyline are also fantastic, and we can’t forget Max. The relationship between he and Kennedy is truly real. I feel like I’ve used the word “real” so many times in this review, but to me that’s what this story is. It’s heartwarming with characters that have true depth, you are rooting for them all the while seeing parts of yourself in them.
I’ll definitely be looking into more of Alexandria Sure’s writing. Rumor has it there is a book prior to this one that introduced us to our leading lady, not sure how I missed that one but it’s definitely on my to be read list.

I fell in love with story and the characters as soon as I started reading it!! I couldn’t put this book down, I read it in one night, it worked its way into my heart and blossomed from there. Kennedy’s journey and her insecurities are what make her who she is and I felt myself invested on where she would end up. Max who is so good with Kennedy, made my heart melt at every turn. This is a wonderfully told story that you won’t want to miss!! This a must read!!! I highly recommend this emotional and romantic story.
This was my first time reading anything by Alexandria Sure. I wasn’t’ sure what I was going to get but as soon as I saw this gorgeous cover I had to know what the story was. I am so glad that I picked this up. I now not only have a new author to add to my TBR list, but really enjoyed this read.
Credence Woods is a standalone novel that gives us an up close and personal glimpse at the life of Kennedy Hewson. Kennedy is going through a major life change. She just underwent weight loss surgery. What is she supposed to do now? She sticks to the routine and nothing more. That routine that gives her some source of security is about to be thrown off kilter. What will she do? Will she make the right decisions or will she end up walking away from the happiness she could have had?
I will say one thing though, Kennedy did get a bit on my nerves for a bit. I wanted to find a lot to connect with in her given I am a curvy woman and know what it is like to have self-doubt and other issues with image and weight. I don’t know she was just whiney about it more than she was inspirational about it to me personally. Otherwise the story was great and well written and I can’t wait to see what else is available from Alexandria Sure, and what else is to come in the future.

Wow what a read. I didn’t connect with Kennedy until a little bit into the book but onve I did I fell in love with her. Her personal struggles in life and work, just made her relatable in such a way I felt I could be friends with her in real life.
I’ve never read this author before but shes now on my to be read list!
Credence Woods by Alexandria Sure is a new age romance story. Ms. Sure has a great talent for pulling me into the story, but I have to say it took a little longer than my previous books. One big reason is that I can relate to Kennedy more than I want to admit. Kennedy was a wall flower. She was overweight and she kept to herself so that she could focus on her career. She is a workaholic and she hasn’t been vacation in a long time. She ends up going to Tennessee and that is where we would say she had an epiphany. She meets someone special and now she does not know what to do. . Kennedy needs to figure out what she wants and needs. Will she go back to her lifestyle or will she stay in Tennessee? You will have to read the book to find out.

Credence Woods is a contemporary romance by Alexandria Sure. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Sure, and I hope to say the first of many. This book hooked me from the very first page. I just couldn’t put it down. This book and the main character Kennedy real hit a soft spot with me. I really felt a connection with Kennedy. Insecurity is such a hard thing to overcome, and I think this story handled the subject extremely well. I love Max! He is definitely my new favorite book boyfriend. This book brought out great emotions for me. You can really feel Kennedy’s struggles with self confidence, and the witty way she thinks made me laugh out loud. I would highly recommend this book to everyone. I’m looking forward to reading more from Alexandria Surein the future.
Credence Woods by Alexandria Sure was a light hearted, okay read, that had lots of good feels.
My first read by this author, and I must say I liked the writing style and the overall plot line. I’m not much of a reader of the contemporary romance scene. This one was okay, it kept my attention and it had a lightness to it, that made the story go by quickly. I will say that, as much as I liked the overall story, it did, for me at times, fall short and feel dull.
When I say this fell a little short for me, It was more along the lines of, toned down drama, or lack of it. I’m not a big drama person, but at the same time, if you don’t have any or hardly any in your story, it gets that dull feeling. Sure there was some, Kennedy hitting a deer, meeting the ex, (which had to be the weirdest non-conflicting confrontation ever) the whole Max thing in general. But, just when you think the author is going in for a knock out, it pulled up short, and it was more like a light pinch, then a bee sting. For me, the most exciting thing was the opening. That held so much potential, but, again, just not quite enough.
Overall this is a very enjoyable read, as I said it has lots of good feels, the writing is easy to follow, the tones matched the scenes, and it has thick body image themes and stresses the positive, learning how to accept yourself faults and all, message. Max is a dream guy, and I wish to hell he was real. Could use me one like that..lol. But it all seriousness, I believe everyone will find something to like about this book. It’s a fairly quick read, and good for a lazy day, when you’re looking for something to warm your heart and put you in a good mood.
So please take my recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will get lost in this heartwarming romance.
Happy Reading
