Nothing is as it seems.May has finally learned the truth of her existence and it’s not what she expected. As a creation of science, her life isn’t her own, her body a mere vessel for the future. Being mated to five of the world’s strongest Alpha’s solidifies her purpose; to produce alphas and omegas to repopulate society. With the next generation currently in her womb, she remains safely tucked … safely tucked away in her den, learning of the world. She’s forced to undergo invasive tests that monitor the wellbeing of her young, or so the doctors claim. Her mates prepare her for life up top. But the more she learns of the world outside her den, the more uncertain she grows about leaving the confines of her underground sanctuary.
May begins to question whether she and her young will survive the omega starved beasts on the surface or if they’ll fall prey to the crazed masses.
But the bigger question becomes, is she willing to risk it all just to see the sun for the first time?
*Warning: this omegaverse is intended for readers over 18 for violence and steamy scenes! This is a reverse harem series where the main character ends up with more than one mate at the end of the series.

This novel had quite a few typos which detracted from my ability to enjoy the story somewhat. However, the characterization of the heroine and five heroes, in addition to the skillful development of the romantic relationships between these characters was well enough done that I was still able to enjoy this romance even with the poorly written and executed plot and world building. This novel is the second half of a duology which ended on a Happy Ever After ending, so that is a plus for readers who dislike cliffhanger endings. Both novels are currently out to they can be read one after the other. I would characterize this novel as a dystopian romance instead of a dark romance, since the five heroes of this novel behave in heroic ways and do not do double duty as the villains of this novel. A somewhat rough but still enjoyable m/f omegaverse romance.

Man I wish it was a little longer. I feels like as soon as it starts getting good it was over. There was so much anticipation about the greedy corporation and what was going on in the “outside world” that it kinda feel flat once all was said and done. I enjoyed the epilogue, but the build up to it was a let down. I didn’t understand that if they were all the remaining Alphas or not or how the rest of the world found out about what the corporation was doing if they destroyed all the records. I don’t know if I missed something or not.
I still like the premise and did enjoy the story

As much as I loved the first book, I was slightly disappointed with the ending of this. I would have liked more of the fight for the Omega, May and her pups. But, overall, I loved seeing how each of the Alphas developed their own relationship within the group. I loved seeing May’ strength, thirst for knowledge, and how she bonds with her mates.
D.E.Chapman is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. Great book.
I received a copy from Booksprout and this is my honest review.
We follow May and her 5 Alphas now that they are pregnant. I really enjoyed this book. It made me want to read book 1. Even though you don’t need to read book 1 to enjoy this, I would read it first as it feel it really sets up book 2 well with who each character is to each other and the situation they are in. I also really enjoyed all the alpha/omega details. There were some original alpha/omega details that I enjoyed reading about. The book really flew by, both because it was a shorter read and because it was super fun. The book does skip ahead by months. I wished the book was longer as I really wanted to read more about how May, the relationships between the group, and O Productions intrigue developed.
I enjoyed the first book a bunch and I couldn’t wait to see how the Omega’s (May) life was going to change. This one picks up pretty much where the other left off. So there is no gap. Which I like. And I liked how there was so much going on that May had to learn and figure out. She is a very interesting character. And I liked how she may have to learn everything over but she was far from stupid. She was actually very intelligent and understood more then she let on sometimes.
The main difference with this book from the first is how much more advanced the technology is. But you still see her and her mates interact and you see May become smarter and you also get to see how protective she is of her babies. Even tho they weren’t born yet. Which I personally LOVED to see. Overall i liked how this story progressed. And the ending was really great!
Questions
I’m loving these books. What am I? Why am I here? How can I be here and where is here? All of May’s questions are answered in this second book. It is a dark story, so if you are faint of heart do not read this. May’s life drastically changes one day and a new world is opened to her. This book moves along fast building the story. This book has a hot heat rating. I’m sorry to see May’s saga end.
I really enjoyed this story of May and her Alpha’s. The confusion that May feels at times is palpable. The reader is anxious and confused along with the character.
This is a reverse harem story and it was well written.
DE Chapman’s books seem to get better and better as I read them.
Received Updated ARC from BookSprout for Honest
I Give this Book a 3/5 Star Rating.
This is Omegaverse, if you don’t know what it is, please take the time to look it up before you judge this book. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s DEFINITELY Mine.
*Grins*
This is a Dark Post Apocalyptic Omegaverse.
HEA(?): Yup.
Heat: 3.5/5
Suspense: 3.5-4/5
Drama: 4/5
Dark(?): I Personally don’t think so but the overtone is so I’ll give it a 1.5/5, will list as Dark Lite.
Relationship Type: Reverse Harem
Let me just with, you must read Creature of the Dark first. I must say that I wasn’t fully satisfied with this read, May was rather boring in this book.
The Males weave in and out of the book, they all felt not as important, yet they were.
The flow didn’t feel right and everything kinda felt stagnant, and I can’t deny I got a bit bored.
I was hoping this was going to be darker but it really isn’t. And near the 75% the story picks up pace and then become to fast of a read, everything is to easily resolved in a not logical manner.
May honestly didn’t do much in the book, I was expecting well…MORE from her to be stronger, put big strong alphas in their place Lol or be adorably defiant but it never really happens and and I was a bit disappointed she never truly spoke.
The pregnancy takes 95% of the book, and the babies were rushed and even though they are mentioned a bit, it’s too fast paced to take even a second to enjoy them.
This is an ok read but I was honestly expecting to make this a 5/5, but it didn’t even come close sadly.
But I will always enjoy book 1.
I truly believe this should’ve been a Trilogy rather than a Duet, too much information was introduced into this book only in the end to just unimportant.
Alpha & Omega behavior was clear in this book, but didn’t seem accurately placed and a lot of the true behavior.. well you were just given a glimpse of it and then it was over.
I’m a major fanatic for nesting being in Omegaverse books cause it is an important trait, but I wasn’t satisfied with the slight repetitiveness of the nesting scenes themselves, they just felt weirdly put in cause that’s mainly where she’s at in the book.
A lot of questions aren’t answered, which I found a bit confusing.
And essentially your in a room mostly all the time, I would’ve like to have seen her first moments at experiencing things outside.
Despite this review I am familiar with The authors writing and I will read more from her 🙂
May was created in a lab to be an omega that is used for breeding and keeping Alphas and omegas exhisting. Their numbers are dropping and betas are taking over. Her 5 mates help keep her safe, and educate her, so she is ready to leave the den when the pups are born. But is O Productions what they thought? Can her mates keep her and their pups safe? Liked the ending.

Wow oh wow this book is absolutely out of this world off the chain crazy good,
filled with dark nitty gritty bits and pieces and downright dirty and I want more just
like this D.E Chapman is truly an exceptional spell weaving writer who deserves all the stars.
