A listened to the audio version of this book. Excellent reader.
This is the third book in the Bromance Book Club Series and I am here for it. This was a one night read for me and was just 100% a book to just enjoy. I love the authors writing dn how seamless her stories are.
Throw in my favorite Friends to Lovers trope and it was a match made in book heaven.
Alexis and Noah had their struggles and watching their loves change with each other was fun. I could have done with a little moe angst but it was a great plot overall and that made up for it with me.
If you want a fun easyromance, this is a cute story that you enjoy from start to end.
This book didn’t disappoint! I have enjoyed this series and I hope there is more to come! It was a sweet, special book about kidney donation and lost family. I would definitely recommend this book.
Awesome awesome book
This series by Lyssa Kay Adams is so humorous and fast paced. I enjoy that there is an all male book club whom gets together and assists each other. The banter in this series makes me laugh out loud, I cannot read it at bedtime with a sleeping husband next to me. Each series builds on the character development from the book before it and now it just feels like I am hanging with my group of friends. I cannot wait for the next.
I loved Crazy Stupid Bromance just as much as the first two books! These guys never disappoint! Their friendship, their banter, their crazy ideas…I’m looking at your wedding dance, Mack – makes them the most lovable group of guys!u2063

Noah and Alexis were a great couple – friends first, ever since he helped her expose her boss in the last book. Their relationship grew from there for both, even while neither would admit that to the other. u2063

The way Noah cares for Alexis just melted my heart! He might be the sweetest, slightly grumpy, guy ever! From bringing her food to make sure she eats to supporting her through some unexpected family issues, his support for her was unwavering. In turn, Alexis walks Noah through some issues of his own and they both work on starting to heal together. u2063

Aside from the romance, Adams tackles the loss of a parent and the feelings that go with it. Having lost both my parents, these parts of the book hit home in such a way that I haven’t seen/felt before. The feelings she describes, specifically with Alexis, were spot on for me and I found myself feeling like I wasn’t alone. It was beautifully done. u2063

In summary, you’ll:u2063
Laugh – a LOT!u2063
Cry – all kinds of tears.u2063
Love the Russian even more. u2063
Find yourself counting the days until the next time we can visit with this amazing group of characters! u2063
I love this series so much! They are all so fun, and this one kept that up with it’s kitties and friends-to-lovers vibes, and of course the romance novel in the background. Definitely can’t wait for more – I’m so excited “the Russian” has a book soon, because I totally feel like there’s a story there.
I loved this book! This series has been so good! I cannot wait for the next book. Noah and Alexis are so cute! I love a good friends to lovers book!
This series is A* escapism for me; audiobooks that instantly transport me to another place. I listened to CRAZY STUPID BROMANCE for two days straight when I wanted to tune out the election, and the guys worked their magic yet again. The scenes with beefcake, the devil cat, were hysterical, and I loved learning more about Noah and Lexis–both broken in surprisingly similar ways but for different reasons. Terrific.
Not a comedy like the first two books
This book is a melodrama rather than comedic like the first two books in this series. There is a primary emphasis throughout the book on the heroine’s donating a kidney to the biological father she had never previously known, until she was approached out of the blue by her half-sister as a potential harvesting site for a genetically compatible organ.
In the author’s note at the closing of the book, she informs her readers that apparently this is a book of the heart for her, because her husband donated a kidney to his beloved sister shortly after she married her husband. She also urges everyone in her audience to consider becoming a living donor of an organ themselves in order to save a life. Unfortunately, the circumstances portrayed in this melodrama are absolutely nothing like those that the author witnessed in her own life.
Perhaps this story may inspire some of her readers to go become a living organ donor, but I did not feel that sort of inspiration myself. I was mainly disappointed due to finding myself reading a soap opera when I was expecting this book to be a romantic comedy strongly centered around the Bromance Book Club.
Friends to lovers between two characters in the admired series of Bromance story.
Alexis and Noah were two of my favourite characters from the previous books, and I was looking forward to reading how their story will expand.
While it’s a charming and slow-burn romance, I felt like something was missing or was a bit too much at times, just like in the first two books.
I loved the continuous bromance and support between the guys and the women at each turning point and how they look out for each other plus the interaction is as expected, full of smart replies and quirky dialogue.
The story touches a lot more topics than just friends to lovers between Alexis and Noah, a heavy one that many people might find difficult to read but it adds a bit more reliably to the real-life issues and, as a medical staff member I know that we need more awareness of it, even if maybe, the author is trying to tell us her opinion regarding the topic, I can not fully agree with her, but that’s another story.
I’m an easy rating usually but for books that are very hyped and loved, I’m more critical and this one felt a bit flat in parts for me, hence the 3.5 stars rounded to 4.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book but thought of rating the book 4 stars instead of 5 stars for two reasons (1) The Braden Mack character and (2) the author’s insistence on including toxic masculinity. The Mack of Crazy Stupid Bromance is similar to the Mack of book 2, Undercover Bromance, but more obnoxious as he groomzilla’s his planned wedding to Liz. I still don’t understand the Jeckle/Hyde transformation of the misogynistic, obnoxious Mack in The Bromance Book Club to the softer, caring Mack of the next two books. Toxic Masculinity rears its ugly head twice, in one scene in Chapter 12, where Noah is initiated into the BBC. Part of the vow is “I vow to do the hard work on myself to overcome a lifetime of toxic masculinity”. I can’t imagine any guy agreeing to this absurd statement. Two pages later Malcolm says to Noah that TM “strips us of the ability to express our emotions and to connect” because Noah is afraid to tell Alexis how he really feels about her. Even if I agree with TM as the cause of Noah’s communication problem, Alexis suffers from the exact same fear of telling Noah how she feels about him, yet no mention of “toxic” anything to explain her fear! Enough of my rant on Mack and TM!
The story revolves around Noah and Alexis, introduced in the previous novel. Each is attracted to the other person, yet both do not admit their feelings for fear of destroying their BFF status. Noah’s problems also include his hacker past and anger brought about by his father’s death in the Middle East. Alexis’s story also includes a wealthy father who Alexis never knew until her half-sister contacts Alexis about their father’s need for a kidney. Boy, talk about backstories and unresolved issues! While it appears Noah and Alexis resolve their communication problem about 2/3 of the way through the book, they don’t really resolve their issues and can’t until each resolves their issues concerning their own families. I really enjoyed how the author dealt with Noah’s and Alexis’s issues and showed how their fear of communicating with each other as part of larger issues for each, Well done!
The book used by the Bromance Book Club for Noah revolves around a secret baby trope, with a father who finally finds out about his daughter years later. The issues in the BBC book make sense within the scope of Crazy Stupid Bromance’s story.
Despite my antipathy towards both the Braden Mack character and Toxic Masculinity as an issue, I loved this book. This is the first of the three BBC books to earn a 5-star rating from me. I am looking forward to the next book, about the Russian hockey player and his mysterious wife,
I don’t know how she’s doing it, but Adams is somehow making each book in this series even better than the last.
Each book has an entirely different story to tell and Adams does it in a very cohesive way. You know you’re still with the same group of friends, but each character reads differently and each book has it’s own tone and subject matter.
I probably cried the most and the hardest reading this book than the last two. There is a grief subplot that really hits you in the feels in the last few chapters. And I want to take a moment to thank Adams for handling such a delicate topic in such a meaningful way.
This series is absolutely officially a favourite of mine and I’m thrilled we’re getting The Russian’s story next.
After 3 books in the Bromance Book Club series, I am still utterly charmed. I adored Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams (out today) which features 2 best friends who find so much than friendship together.
Series readers will remember Alexis who was deeply involved in the plot of an earlier book featuring a sexually abusive celebrity chef. Here, she is dealing with the aftermath of having come forward.
And then a woman walks into the cafe claiming to be Alexis’ half sister – mostly because the sister’s father needs a kidney. Not sure what to do, Alexis turns to her best friend Noah. There is significant family drama here.
Noah works with computer security and is friends with the men in the Bromance Book Club. He has serious feelings for Alexis but doesn’t want to ruin his friendship with her. Noah turns to his friends and a romance novel for help.
The men of the Bromance Book Club are hilarious – and we get lots of them together in this book. Yes, the farting Russian is back as well, and he provides a great deal of comic relief. They are really the heart of the series.
Alexis and Noah have a tough road to their HEA. Alexis’ family situation is tough. I got seriously pissed several times while reading. Fortunately, there are many lighthearted and funny moments as well.
Crazy Stupid Bromance is a great story that has highs and lows with amazing friendships and a lovely romance. I am a huge fan of this one and the rest of the series, although they can be read as standalones.
Crazy Stupid Bromance continues the fun, flirty Bromance Book Club series. This time, we get the friends to lovers trope and it was amazing!
Alexis and Noah are truly best friends. Their friendship is amazing and I could completely understand the fear of messing that up. But, Noah doesn’t want to be just a friend anymore. Bring in the Bromance Book Club to help! Noah and Alexis have great chemistry too. It is impossible not to love these two. Also, I love the positive romance books view that the author promotes through the Bromance Book Club guys. Seriously, it is just a big hug in a book.
There is a touch of drama from Alexis’ family issues. It seemed a tad unnecessary at times, but thankfully, I adored the rest of the book so much I was able to overlook this.
If you want a fun, banter filled friends to lovers romance, this is a must read!
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the advanced reader’s copy of this book.
Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams is a perfect addition to The Bromance Bookclub series. For those not familiar with the series it is about a group of men, made up of a strange combination of professional athletes, bar owner, country singer, and computer security millionaire. They come together to read romance books in order to gain insights into their own relationships with the women in their lives. The books hit the perfect mix of humor and serious topics. I also feel that the relationships in these books feel real to me with common problems people face with regards to lack of communication in their relationships.
But back to this particular book. Crazy Stupid Bromance is a friends to lovers romance. Alexis is a chef turned cafe owner and Noah is a former hacktivist turned computer security specialist. Let me confess that I’m a sucker for the nerd romance and Noah fits the bill in his own special hipster way. I loved the friendship these two had and how Noah was always there to support Alexis.
If you were a fan of the two previous Bromance books this one will not disappoint. If you are new to the series, I think this could stand alone but you’ll probably find yourself wanting to read the previous books just to fill in the history behind certain things. The book also has a fair amount of steam so if you like your books to fade to black, this probably wouldn’t be a good choice.
Noah Logan has a secret….he has been in love with Alexis Carlisle, his best friend, since the day he met her 18 months ago. Since Alexis is trying to deal with the workplace sexual harassment she had encountered from her old boss, Noah never felt the time was right to tell her how he really felt. Plus there is always the chance that he could ruin their friendship. Enter the Bromance Book Club guys to the rescue! This group of guys who read romance books to help them navigate through life with women know just how to help.
When Alexis is approached by a young woman who informs her that she is her half sister, it throws Alexis into a tailspin. Alexis then does what she usually does, turns to Noah for help. As Alexis and Noah spend even more time together, feelings start to get stronger. Turns out Alexis has also been pining for Noah. Noah and Alexis finally come together in such a great and fun way. When it looks like they are headed for their happy ending, Alexis’ new family comes crashing in, along with Noah’s past and it makes a mess out of everything. Good thing the Bromance guys are there to help so Alexis and Noah do finally get their perfect happy ending.
I just adored both Alexis and Noah. They both were damaged by things from their past but together found a way past it. I really loved the journey these two had to go through. I also just adored the Bromance guys. I found myself laughing a lot while reading this story. I really can’t wait for The Russian’s story!
As soon as I saw I got approved, I squealed. I immediately went to my kindle and started this book. I have been waiting for Noah’s book for what seems like forever and I was not let down. Each book in this series has a special place in my heart. I absolutely loves how she takes each trope and weaves it into the bookclub pick.
Alexis is a survivor, after the debacle with Royce she just needs time to heal and as she heals, she helps other survivors. She met Noah 18 months ago when they took down Royce and she and Noah have been best friends ever since. The best of friends, so much so that she doesn’t want to jeopardize their friendship by admitting her feelings might run a little deeper.
Noah knows that Alexis was hurt in the past, he knows she has so much to get through to see her future on the other side. He has been by her side as her best friend for 18 months but sees her as his everything.
There were obstacles that came up throughout this book, but they were dealt in such a way that was believable. This is what your best friend would do to be there for you through the hard times, but as you see Noah, you see a man who would do anything for not only his best friend, but the woman he loves. He was so respectful of her and her situation that it made my heart leap.
I did get teary eyed a few times too.m, but what I love about this series is that each man is so caring and thoughtful. It is a refreshing series and I enjoy each book just as much as the last. I love it so much. Thank you to Netgalley, Berkley and Lyssa Kay Adams for an early copy of this book.
Crazy Stupid Bromance is the third book in the Lyssa Kay Adams Bromance Book Club series. This book is a perfect addition to the series due to the sweet, funny, and steamy moments. It’s a Friends to Lovers Romance. Warning: Be prepare yourself ahead of time before you dive into this book. You will be laughing and crying at certain scenes. I laughed quite a bit with the Bromance Book Club members. I couldn’t help it, though, because these guys can’t stop with their craziness together.
Female Protagonist: Alexis Carlisle owns a cat cafe, which also hosts yoga for survivors of sexual harassment/assault. If you read the second book in the series, you would’ve been introduced to Alexis already. No worries, though, Lyssa Kay Adams reiterates what happened in the second book to this book. Alexis was one character I loved one minute and couldn’t stand the next. I think it’s due to how she handled certain situations in this book. She’s one character that has been through a lot and is trying to live her life. She needs and deserves a happily ever after, though.
Male Protagonist: Noah Logan is a former hacker/hacktivist who nows uses his old skills for the right cause in his business. He’s the guy you go to whenever you end up doing something you’re not supposed to on your computer/website, etc. (For instance, opening a phishing email, which downloads malware to your computer. That’s a big No-No!) He’s a sweet, lovable guy who I couldn’t get enough of in this book. He was my favorite character in this book. I loved getting to know him (past and present).
Storyline: Alexis Carlisle and Noah Logan are best friends. They became friends after Alexis came forward about her sexual assault/harassment against her former boss, and Noah and she hit it off. They enjoyed the same things together. What happens most of the time (not all the time) when a girl and guy become best friends? One of them or both of them fall in love with each other. Noah, in this case, is secretly in love with Alexis but is scared to tell her. I love these types of books, which is the trope friends to lovers. Alexis has to deal with something in her life that she never expected to happen. She has a young woman come forward, stating that she is her sister. Should she believe her? She goes to Noah for help. Alexis’s world is about to turn upside down when her sister tells her why she’s there to see her. Noah will be there for her along the way. This book touches on family drama issues on both character sides. It’s going to be a whirlwind of drama, crying, and craziness.
Standalone or Part of Series: Part of series, but each follows new characters.
Steaminess: Some steam.
HEA: Yes.
Trope: Friends to Lovers
Would I recommend this book? Yes. I would recommend this book and series to readers of Contemporary Romance. I started reading this series because of the idea of men forming a Romance Book Club and talking together about the books they read. These guys are down to earth and love romance books. They always have me laughing too. This book, in particular, has me falling head over heels for the male protagonist. I loved Noah Logan.
I don’t want to give away any details about this book. If you have this book on your TBR, then I recommend you read this book. Make sure to read the previous books because you’ll miss out on the other characters who have gotten their HEA.
Favorite scene(s)/moment(s):
1. The guys were getting to spend the day at a Spa for Mack’s Bachelor Party. They were clueless about what to do.
2. There were also the scenes with Noah and Alexis’s cat Beefcake. (Too funny)
3. Oh, Colton and the Russian meeting Beefcake for the first time. (This particular scene had me laughing like crazy.)
I was delighted to see there was another book in the Bromance Book Club series. This time it’s Noah (the tech guy) and Alexis (who runs the Toe Beans cafe). As with the other books in the series, Noah is a (very reluctant) recruit to the book club. As always, the scenes where the guys are together are very funny.
The emotional themes in this book run quite deep. Grief being the main one. Seeing Alexis, who is a quiet but strong person, being rent apart by grief, guilt and hope was very moving. I love Alexis.
There is a ‘big miss’in the story, but the other characters call them out on it and make them talk to each other.
I really enjoyed this book. Alexis is definitely my favourite heroine from the group.
I’m told the next book is about The Russian, who is my favourite of the guys, so I’m looking forward to that one!
I got a review copy from Netgalley. This is my honest review
