“The best love affairs start as friendships.”
The Bromance Book Club is back and up to their usual shenanigans! Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams will take readers on an emotional journey in which both characters experience lots of personal growth.
We first met Alexis Carlisle in book two, Undercover Bromance. Alexis was a key player in bringing down Royce Preston, a celebrity chef who was sexually harassing/assaulting his female workers. Presently, Alexis has opened her cat café, ToeBeans as a space where survivors of sexual abuse can come together. Noah Logan is the gorgeous nerd tech who helped Alexis during the whole incident. He soon becomes Alexis’ best friend and it’s so obvious to everyone how attracted they are to one another.
The chemistry between Noah and Alexis is undeniable. They’re always there for each other in their time of need. However, they are oblivious to their feelings towards the other and when they finally realize their true feelings, both are too afraid to ruin their friendship. These characters were flawed, having some deep-rooted issues that they had to overcome but even in those rocky moments they found the time to forgive. Also, let us not forget Beefcake! This cat was a hoot and I wish he had more moments with Noah as he was finally starting to warm to him and it was so darn adorable!!!
Crazy Stupid Bromance handled some important topics very respectfully. It was sweet, light, and filled with belly laughs and sweet tender moments. This book will have you laughing and at some point–crying. If you love an emotional and heartfelt friends-to-lovers read with that side of steamy, this story will be just the right cup of tea!
And now, the book we’ve all been waiting for…dun, dun, dun… THE RUSSIAN’S STORY will be releasing next year and I cannot wait!!
*I received a complimentary copy of this book from Berkley through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.*
Great, as always! Lyssa Kay Adams continues to dig into the fun she’s created among the men of the book club. It’s terrific.
Favorite line: “We always run during a grand gesture.”
And I can’t wait to see who gets the next book! Could it be… The Russian?
CRAZY STUPID BROMANCE is Lyssa Kay Adams’ 3rd book of the Bromance Book Club series. Alexis Carlisle, former victim of a celebrity chef’s sexual harassment, finds her life turned upside down when a customer claims they are sisters. Unsure what to do, she turns to the only man she trusts—her BFF, Noah Logan. Computer genius Noah has left his rebellious teenage hacker past behind to become a computer security expert. He’s secretly madly in love with Alexis, and his pals in the Bromance Book Club are more than willing to share their beloved “manuals” to help him go from bud to boyfriend. CRAZY STUPID BROMANCE is another tongue-in-cheek story with humor and sensual attraction where Lyssa Kay Adams removes the “macho” image from the men of the Bromance club to get in touch with their sensitive side through romance novels to make this a funny, sexy and heartfelt story about love.
Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams has all the feels; it’s a spicy emotional roller coaster with redemption. And the characters truly are all that. Can’t wait to start binging the next book soon.
Probably my favorite of the series so far.
The third in the bromance book group series. I laughed. The wedding for the book two couple is in the background. A friends to lovers book that also visits other themes including found family thru consumer DNA testing and living donor kidney transplantation.
I laughed quite a bit with this book. Love the book group
Noah is a sexy, sweet, nerdy, computer genius that isn’t exactly a member of the Bromance Book Club, but Mack is trying his best to recruit him at the beginning of the story. Alexis is a strong, bad-ass, selfless fighter. She’s a survivor, she owns a coffee shop that became a safe place for women to share their stories if they want and she also hosts a yoga class to promote mental health and well-being.
Alexis and Noah are best friends, but they have feelings for each other. They are terrified of the Friend Zone, but they don’t want to jeopardize the amazing friendship they have. They care deeply for each other and they’re scared to risk it. Truly, a perfect friends-to-lovers setup.
These two were the sweetest couple! Both of them had family issues that left deep emotional scars. They had to tackle some stuff while they were trying to give their relationship a shot and things got very emotional. A lot was going on in Alexis’ life, suddenly everything changed in her family life and she was struggling to understand what exactly happened between her parents in the past while trying to deal with a huge family drama. On top of that, she had another unpleasant situation regarding a nasty shop owner located across her coffee shop. Noah, on the other hand, was dealing with some family demons that surprisingly were connected with the sudden family drama in Alexis’ life. He also needed to address other issues concerning his family and he was constantly trying to dodge the guys in the Bromance Book Club. As if Mack would allow it! The Bromance Book Club guys were amazing as usual! Loved them all so much! Anyway, there was a lot going on in Noah and Alexis’ lives, just as they were taking steps toward a relationship. The chemistry between these two was EVERYTHING. Their moments together were fantastic, emotional and beautiful. I was rooting so much for these characters! Alexis’ cat provided several comic moments as well as the Russian and I enjoyed the comic relief.
I love Lyssa Kay Adams’ books. I love her writing. I enjoy the way she makes us fall for every single one of her characters and love the way she includes, and develops, important topics in her books. It’s no surprise I loved this one! That being said, I think this book tackled too many serious topics, that eventually distracted me a little from Noah and Alexis’ romance. I wanted more time with these two and their group of friends and maybe that’s why I felt this way. The first book in the Bromance Book Club series is still my favorite, but I enjoyed Crazy Stupid Bromance so much. Can’t wait to read the next one!
Loved this book!! Lyssa Kay Adams has been added to my favorite authors list!! What a fantastic book with such wonderful, funny characters!! There’s a group of men that started the Bromance Book Club to help with their relationships and this is Alexis & Noah’s book. (Alexis has been in previous books). They each worked through their own issues to get their HEA, one being going from best friends to lovers. The book has a different twist on men & their friendship with each other in such a funny, entertaining, honest way!! It’s emotional, hysterical, heartbreaking at times & heartwarming. I can’t recommend this book & author enough!! I have read the rest of the series & am looking forward to her next book!!
While I wouldn’t say I liked it, I wouldn’t say I disliked it either.
I loved the first book.
It was good till 70 % last 30% hot on my nerve so bad, she dumped all on him and he took it and there was this line that he”messed things up because he didn’t accepted her apology” (made 2 times) and I was sitting there thinking what kind of frkin thing am I reading?
Being good and nice and always forgiving is one thing and dumping all the things you don’t stand up to others, on someone who is by your side always is another! She did something like that in the 2nd book too and I was sceptical but then around 30% I loosed up and then shit hit the fan for me.
It not bad by any means but I don’t stand up for some things she did and how she reacted to other random people and the one who loved her.
With the other books I love talks between the group members and the book and influence but with this one it, while the family plot was intresting, everything else kinda took a step back to that.
That all being said I still will follow with the series cause I adore the whole plot this series was set on.
It’s been a while since I read the first two books in this series, but in preparation for the upcoming release of Isn’t It Bromantic? (the Russian’s story, which I am immensely excited about), I knew it was finally time to dive into Crazy, Stupid, Bromance.
Noah and Alexis have been friends for over a year, with an attraction simmering beneath the surface. But when the two met, Alexis wasn’t in a place to start a relationship, and now neither is sure what the other wants. When Alexis suddenly finds out she has a sister, her whole life is in turmoil, and Noah is there to help her through.
In the beginning of this book, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about it. At time, it feels like it’s trying too hard to create some kind of idealistic feminist male book club. I get that this is the point of this series, but in this book it felt more forced. Like, no group of guys is this perfect, let’s get real. But honestly, by the end of the book I was crying, and if a book can evoke that kind of emotion out of me it gets five stars. I don’t want to spoil anything, but know that Noah and Alexis both go on an emotional journey with regards to their parents and it’s both touching and heartbreaking.
I’m really excited to see where book four takes us!
5 stars – 8/10
I have read all the current books in this series and have laughed my way thru then. So much fun, with some situations that surely could happen. Great take on the manly side of Romance!
This book strayed from the others in this series. It was significantly darker. A decent story.
I really enjoyed this book, or audiobook as it may be because I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Andrew Eiden. As Eiden is one of my favorite narrators (through this name or his pseudonym), I knew I would enjoy it just from that standpoint. I actually did not enjoy the first book in the series as much because I did not like the heroine but I really wanted to read this one because I like the premise of a men’s book club reading romance novels. And I liked this one much better than the 1st in the series (I didn’t read the second yet.). Alexis and Noah are best friends so this is a friends to lovers romance but it was a little deeper than that. They each had personal issues that they had to work through and for Alexis, an additional factor about finding family she didn’t know about also sent her into a tailspin and had consequences to her and Noah’s relationship. I think there were some overreactions, clearly written to elevate the tension in the story but overall, it was well written with good characters. I really need the Russian’s story because his mutterings and contributions to the story really made me laugh. I can’t wait to hear his story. (And Eiden was amazing playing the different characters)
This one hit close to home for me. Crazy Stupid Bromance is probably my favorite book in the series so far, but I’m also counting down the days until Isn’t It Bromantic? releases on July 20th.
There were a few scenes that had my heart lodged in my throat. I listened to the audio on Audible and that hit me on an even deeper level. Beefcake the cat will have you rolling in laughter and is the scene-stealer of the story. I can’t recommend this book enough!
Honorary member of the Bromance Bookclub
Alexis has dealt with a lot but thank goodness for her best friend Noah. The same Noah that she thinks about in non friend terms but is afraid to act upon it. Noah has the same thoughts. When Alexis’ past collides with her present it’s just the catalyst these two need to take them to the next level. If only their pasts will stand back and let them be happy but that isn’t going to happen.
I love the Bromance Bookclub stories. I can’t wait for more.
4.5/5
Have I mentioned how much I love this series? Oh wait, I did in my last review! I initially rated this a 4/5 but after thinking about it some more I knew I had to bring that up. Crazy Stupid Bromance is probably my favorite installment so far, and not just because Alexis runs a cat cafe. This book deals a bit with Alexis’s past and then something that pops up in her present, and at times this was definitely a tear-jerker. It brings up family, and I loved that Lyssa Kay Adams added something about this in the acknowledgments section. This was an important story for her and knowing that made me love it even more. There is, of course, the trademark hilariousness I have come to expect from this series, plus so many emotional moments that had me on edge. My heart went out to Alexis and I loved her story.
And I don’t think I have mentioned this before, but the Russian has got to be my favorite male character in this series even though I feel like I barely know anything about him. The accent that Andrew Eiden, the narrator for the audiobooks, does for him is so perfect, and everything he says practically makes me cry with laughter. This is why I was incredibly excited to see the next installment, Isn’t It Bromantic?, is all about him. But going back to this book, I really liked Noah as a character, and I loved how he tried to protect Alexis through everything that happens. Her cat Beefcake was a standout, and I also loved her sass, strength, and cat cafe idea! There is a lot of meat to this story, and I loved every single minute of it. Crazy Stupid Bromance is a wonderful addition to this series, and the audiobook was just as amazing as the others. Highly recommend!
I listened to the audio version. This third book in the Bromance Book Club series was a hoot! It is a friends to lovers trope that was simply adorable. The book club is determined to help Noah stop being an idiot and win over Alexis. Up to that point, Alexis was doing the pursuing, but Noah was basically shooting himself in the foot doing what he thought was “right”. Some men!
I loved the slow buildup of the romance and the sweetness of both main characters. I also loved the narration by Andrew Eiden. I feel like this was one of those books that may have been brought up a notch by the narration. Eiden’s voice for “the Russian” and his stupid remarks added a lot!
Crazy Stupid Bromance
By Lyssa Kay Adams
Crazy Stupid Bromance is book three of the Bromance series and it just keeps getting better and better. In this latest addition we are focused on Noah Logan – hacker extraordinaire and Alexis Carlisle ToeBeans owner of a delightful cat café who have been friends since forever. How can the Bromance Club get geeky Noah and Gorgeous Alexis to move beyond this friendly safe zone to igniting some sparks into some hot romance.
I really enjoyed this funny and swoony romcom. A fantastic afternoon read I lost myself in.
I am loving the guys from the Bromance Bookclub. This book was so sweet, I love a good friends to lovers romance. Crazy Stupid Bromance cheeked all the boxes. Noah and Alexis are so perfect for each other. This was a fast fun read. I can’t wait for the next book.
Alexis and Noah are destined to stay in the friend zone. He doesn’t want to ruin their friendship and she’s still smarting over the fallback of coming forward in a sexual harassment case. When family drama ratchets up the tension, Noah must turn to the Bromance Book Club for advice. Friends to lovers and more, choosing the family you want to have. This series brings together a group of people who are more than friends and colleagues, they are family.
I love the seriousness of the story-line combined with humor and romance to make it more palatable. I read these because they are funny with heart.
