OH do I ever love this series. The author, once again, has given us a fun, flirty, sexy tale about another of the Landry family. These “crazy cajuns” are a hoot. The characters that are so defined and family oriented that you can’t help but feel a part of the craziness and wish you had family like this. Kudo’s Ms. Nicholas for a job very well done.
If you have read the first three books you have an inkling that Bennett and Emmerson’s story was going to be electric, at least I did. These two have been full of sasy enuendos from the start and the author did not disappoint me with the telling of their story. The banter continues and the sparks continue to fly as Bennett takes the sassy mouthed, gothic dressing, Emmerson home to meet his parents and to celebrate his father’s retirement. If you are picturing the cajun southern roughneck charm meeting the high society, snootie, southern socialites – you just might be off by a foot or two. Watching Emmerson interact with Bennett’s family and their friends is a hoot. Throw in one hot sexy weekend and trust me this is one read you don’t want to miss it.
If you haven’t started the Boys of the Bayou series all I can say is what are you waiting for. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars for this heartwarming, funny storyline that is part of a 10+ star series that I highly recommend grabbing up ASAP, you won’t regret it.

Having read the previous book Beauty and the Bayou (Boys of the Bayou #3) I was looking forward to reading Kennedy’s story. This book can be read as a standalone, but it would do you well if you read the previous stories about Kennedy’s brothers.
Kennedy is the only sister of the Landry boys: Owen, Josh and Sawyer. This sassy and feisty woman meets her match when Bennett enters the picture. Men in suits aren’t really her type but there is something about the man that tickles her womanly bits and piques her interest.
Bennett is an environmentalist lawyer and being groomed to follow in his father’s footsteps. He is into anything Cajun, especially Kennedy Landry. When he becomes a partner in the Landry family business, he falls in love with their lifestyle. Might he be falling love with Kennedy too?
This steamy romance novel is not only about Kennedy and Bennett but is also about the Landry family. Their close relationship and loyalty is what makes the whole family work and occasionally get in trouble with the law. I love the family dynamics and getting to know more of Leo and Ellie’s story provides an insight into Kennedy’s character and how it developed her attitude towards her relationships with men.
The books started off a bit slow for my liking as it was all about the pair’s verbal sexual tango; however, it eventually becomes more interesting when you get to know more about Bennett and his family’s back story.
Kennedy is a remarkably strong woman who has her brothers and the whole family twisted around her finger but it is Bennett who actually gets the real persona. She hides her insecurity but eventually finds her niche and gets empowered by her man. You can see her character bloom and flourish and it is great to see a man who is willing to support her all the way. These two are a perfect fit. Their chemistry is off the charts right from the start and it gets steamier further into the book.
You’ll need an industrial size fan to cool yourself down, phew! There are no obvious protagonists in this book but it doesn’t make it less interesting. All in all, this book is a total joy to read I highly recommend it, especially for the Landry family fans.
Erin did a fantastic job with Kennedy and Bennett’s story just as we knew she would. Kennedy is so full of life with such a kick butt personality and a sassy mouth and that makes her and Bennett just perfect for each other. Bennett gives it back as much as Kennedy dishes it out, Their story is one that will make you laugh cry and wish it wouldn’t end. The entire series is one that you can read over and over. I can’t wait to see what adventure Erin takes us on next.
Kennedy and Bennett…..finally. This book met every expectation I have for a wonderful romance novel. Book 4 in the Boys of the Bayou series has us reading Kennedy’s story.
Kennedy has been the only girl in a sea of men, brothers, cousins, friends. Now with her brothers and cousin finding the women of their dreams, insert eye roll, she finally has some female backup. She also has found Bennett Baxter. He is everything she could never want yet finds herself wanting just that.
Bennett is a Cajun boy, at least his dna says so. His mother’s line is Cajun but she doesn’t spend too much time on that in her new fancy life. Bennett has always felt a draw to the bayou and all that encompasses. When an opportunity arises to buy into a boat tour company down on the bayou, he jumps at the chance. That jump leads him to Kennedy. A woman who intrigues him to no end, also one that doesn’t make sense on paper but in real life woooooobuddy.
Kennedy and Bennett’s story is all that and a po’boy rolled into one. Erin Nicholas has such a way of writing stories that pull you right in and engulf you in the sights and sounds without ever setting foot anywhere near a bayou. 5 stars for this seeming end to the series, though I hope Chase and Bailey get a little follow up (wink wink).
This book is the fourth in the Bayou series. Though it can be read alone, why wouldn’t you read the first three? You won’t be disappointed!
Kennedy is the former beauty pageant contestant turned “goth girl” that works for the Boys of the Bayou tour group. She Takes care of her family and is looking for Mr. Right. When Bennett becomes a partner in Boys of the Bayou, Kennedy does her best to ignore her feelings, after all, he can’t even repair a motor! This isn’t the kind of man she needs in her life…or is it?
Bennett is a lawyer from a well-to-do family. He is enamored with the Bayou. One look at Kennedy sitting in the office and he knows he wants to spend a lot more time in Louisiana. He will find any reason to call asking for meaningless reports just to banter with Kennedy on the phone. Unbeknownst to Kennedy, he even relocates his office to New Orleans just to be closer to the Bayou.
Bennett’s father is retiring and his mother is throwing a party. Not wanting to attend the party alone Bennett invites Kennedy to go with him to his childhood home for the weekend and meet his parents. He neglects to mention that it’s a long weekend…5 days, to be exact.
Though this book is a romantic comedy, it is also a coming of age story. I was surprised by the turn of events with Kennedy and very excited to see the new adventure she takes on! I don’t want to be that person who spoils the story so I will stop right here and only say that this book was my favorite of the Bayou series!
I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Well, Erin Nicholas did it again…she has blown me away!!! I was really looking forward to this book (#4 in the series) but I never expected to be so overtaken by this story that very little else mattered. I couldn’t put this one down. It had me so engrossed that I literally could not hear anyone or anything else in the room. I had to finish it one seating but then I read it a second time so I could make sure I didn’t miss anything from reading it so fast. This is a wonderful story with amazing characters that were so well suited I could see the story play out in my mind’s eye. Superb job Erin!!! It deserves more than 5 stars but that’s all they gave me. LOVED it!!!
Erin does it again, this has all the things that make a book unable to put down, fun, laughs, family, romance and of course the WOW factor! You won’t be able to resist the Cajun beauty Kennedy and the uptown rich Bennett.
“I want you to go to Savannah with me” was not what Kennedy was expecting to hear come out of Bennett’s mouth in return for saving her and the others from harboring animals they shouldn’t. However, that’s his request for payback of lawyer services, go to Savannah and attend his father’s retirement party with him.
Join Kennedy and Bennett on this steamy trip to his home where she learns there is much more to Bennett than he has ever let on. The chemistry has always been there underlying the teasing texts, the flirty phone calls but they didn’t seem to have much in common otherwise. One weekend trip and both discover the attraction is more than off the charts chemistry, it runs much deeper.
Discover all the great romance as well as the love and the steamy hotness that Erin is famous for with her characters. I loved all the Bayou Brothers and the entire Landry clan in this series, it’s one of the best series from Erin that I have read and can’t wait to see what’s next!

Crazy Rich Cajuns is book 4 in the series Boys of the Bayou by Erin Nicholas and oh my what a read!
We have read about Kennedy and Bennett in the prior books and now it’s their time! Wahoo! Once you start … this book gets your attention from the first page, turning them as fast as possible to find out what happens next and sleep is totally overrated!
So much heat, snark, flirty, family and most of all love!! Makes me want to meet these amazing people!!
Kennedy and Bennett had fantastic chemistry that burned right off the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them go head to head in this enemies to lovers romance.
Bennett Baxter is in love with everything Bayou. That includes the swampy water, the alligators, the sticky hot weather, and especially Kennedy Landry. From the moment he laid eyes on the sassy, dressed all in black, says exactly what’s on her mind woman, he is hooked. He is so sure she is the one for him, even though most of their conversations are over the phone and mostly antagonistic in nature, something in his gut says she is “the one”. He invites, or more like insists, she comes along for a weekend at his parents home in Savannah, GA so #1; they could meet her, and #2; so he could get some one on one time with her, and #3; so his parents could see that his time spent in Louisiana isn’t just play time, he means business. What he doesn’t account for is for his sassy, brazen woman to stir up feelings he wasn’t prepared to feel.
Kennedy Landry is a self assured, confident, sassy woman surrounded by more manly men than she can shake a stick at. She has always assumed her preference in male companionship is a man who could change a tire, fix an engine, and still come home to please her at night. But the moment Bennett Baxter walked into her life he threw those expectations right out the window and her life into a tailspin. She now doesn’t know left from right and she isn’t entirely sure how to feel about it. With Bennett’s shiny shoes, nerdy glasses, and power ties she can’t help her attraction to the man who also gets her back hairs up. She shouldn’t want to like him as much as she does, so she decides to go with him to Georgia to finally get the man out of her system. A weekend away in his world should do the trick, she just didn’t account for enjoying it as much as she does.
Bennett and Kennedy seem like polar opposites, but they are also very similar. It isn’t until they are tucked away in another state away from the hustle and familiar that they really find each other and learn how they fit together.
Crazy Rich Cajuns is a warm, enlightening, and full of heat addition to the Boys of Bayou series. I love the close family and togetherness that these stories bring, along with having a passion for what you believe in. It really shines through in this book and Kennedy is the perfect person to bring that passion for the bayou spirit forth.
If you haven’t started the series yet what are you waiting for, you will love them all!!
This book was everything. From the beginning we were along for the ride with Kennedy Landry and Bennett Baxter. You knew this book was going to be great from their flirty banter to the way they each think they aren’t the others type. Loved these two from their flirting to the way they would call each other for no reason other than to ‘be’ with each other on the phone. There was another part of this book that added extra fun and that was a road trip. Who doesn’t love a road trip and this was one you definitely won’t forget. I loved being a fly on the wall watching these two interact and how he was wanting to be more of a ‘boyfriend’ to her but yet respecting her and of course I also enjoyed Leo giving him some insight into Kennedy and how to be the one she needs, that was a great bonding moment for these two. When Kennedy was put in a situation somewhat out of her element, she stepped up and took charge in her way. From dealing with Bennett’s mother, who I did come to appreciate eventually, to saving the day in her own special way and wading into unchartered waters, she kicked butt as only Kennedy could. Sure there was a tad of a hiccup in the road for these two, why wouldn’t there be. Both Kennedy and Bennett, being passionate people, smooth sailing just wouldn’t have made sense. I truly appreciated the way Bennett stepped up for Kennedy and the ending was perfect and I loved the comparison to Leo and Ellie, that is one of so many parts of this book that made this perfect. One of my favorite lines from this book was, ‘She was into Bennett Baxter. Completely. Fully. Unabashedly.’ Amazing book!
I feel like we have all been waiting so long for Kennedy and Bennett that I couldn’t believe they were finally here!! The sneak peeks we received in the previous 3 books was enough to have everyone on the edge of their seat waiting with bated breath. If you want a book that will make you laugh, cry, and that you won’t want it to ever end, then this is your book! Erin Nicholas has a way with words that captures you and takes you into the world where the story takes place. I could move to Autry today and be perfectly happy.
Kennedy is a bit of a gothic rebel with her tattoos and black makeup, shoes, and clothing. She does what she wants and really doesn’t care if anyone likes it or not. She works at the Boys of the Bayou by keeping everything and everyone in line. Being the baby of the family and Leo’s favorite could be a red flag for most men but not Bennett.
He’s a rich lawyer who has SHINY shoes, fancy suits and his dad is a Senator! His family could not be more different from the Landry’s if they tried. But that isn’t stopping Bennett. He has been fascinated by Kennedy since the first minute he laid eyes on her. She acts as though she isn’t interested yet she finds reasons to call and argue with him about “business stuff.”
The Landry’s are all about being all up in each other’s business and telling each other what to do, but they also have hearts the size of Louisiana and would do anything for you. If you have read any of this series and have not fallen in love with the Landry’s, then I don’t think this book will be for you. I also think you might be a little insane.
Erin, once again, knocked it smooth out of the park with another funny, romantic, and captivating story that you won’t want to end.
Let me start off with a PSA. Don’t take any kind of drink while reading anything Kennedy has to say. She is THE most sassy, honest and up front character I think I have ever read. Her mouth gets her into the most flirtatious conversations that have some solid results. Bennett is the one with whom she has these conversations. He has no problems ramping up the flirtation to panty melting faster than a quick talking politician. Now I must admit that I have read all of the previous books. Does that mean you need to? No. Kennedy and Bennett can stand on their own. But if you do, you can see how they dance around one another from the very first insulting flirty statement. I loved how they start this book at full speed and never really slow down. Kennedy’s family, the Laundry’s, are a full speed kind of family too. The support they have for one another is unrivaled. They have each others backs. But the teasing they do to each other means they are a family member and belong. That’s what Bennett wants, a place to call home and he believes that starts with Kennedy. As with all Erin Nicholas books, there are some deep self realizing moments here that make me want to jump into these books and help them through it all. Kennedy and Bennett are no different. Kennedy finds something she never would have without Bennett and his own crazy family. And Bennett finds his place in her crazy life.
I feel like I’ve been waiting for Crazy Rich Cajuns since we first met Bennett in book #2. I love the opposites attract trope and knew Erin Nicholas would write it well.
Naturally, I liked this story. But I didn’t love it, sadly. It felt like it was missing something for me. There was humor, and hot dirty talk, and angst, and great character development. But maybe the romance was missing for me? Kennedy and Bennet’s relationship went from flirting on the phone to whoops, we’re in love. I miss the in between moments.
What I did love about it: getting the background history on both Kennedy and Bennett and understanding them better. Seeing the other Landrys is always a plus as well.
One part really saddened me, though – Kennedy’s grandparents, Leo and Ellie. As we know from the previous books, they had divorced and were now back together. You would think that would be great and wonderful, but in hindsight, Leo feels like a doormat. Like he’s just letting Ellie back in his life whenever it’s convenient for her. And having their relationship act like #goals for their grandchildren makes me a little sad. No one should be a Leo with their worth unappreciated.
I feel like I’m going a little too deep here, Imma dial it back. Crazy Rich Cajuns was fun and sexy and a worthwhile read.
This is the fourth book in the Boys Of The Bayou series by Erin Nicholas. Since I read the previous three books in the series, I can say with honesty that I was eager and impatient to finally read about Kennedy and Baxter. Unfortunately, this book wasn’t as good as the others and I admit to being slightly disappointed at the feeling that this book was rushed; as if it didn’t have the same care that the author took for the previous ones. No, that said, I did not hate it. Obviously, I gave this book four stars for a good reason. The secondary characters are what I enjoyed the most. As always, the Landrys are a heartwarming, humorous bunch of fun-loving individuals. Not to mention that their loyalty to family and friends is truly beautiful. In addition, I was enthralled and entertained by them.
Kennedy and Bennett meet in book two, Sweet Home Louisiana, which is Owen and Maddie’s great love story of second chances. Kennedy was sassy and a thorn in Bennett’s side. In fact, they both agitated each other. Love/hate at its best! Their banter quickly turn to outspoken, dirty talking. And then, eventually more. I don’t want to give away the story, so you’ll have to see for yourself what these two get up to.
An aspect I did very much like was that despite their insults toward each other, there was more than not, respect and admiration. Towards the last chapters, the story took a bit of a turn that I didn’t expect. Kennedy ended up being someone I perceived as intelligent. Sadly, no, I always thought her character was a bit immature and churlish. Honestly, I wasn’t a huge fan of her outspoken, crass comments and thought her to be a brat. I’m glad the author showed me what Kennedy is truly capable of. It was a nice surprise.
So, in a nut shell, this trope is about how opposites attract. Both Kennedy and Bennett connected on a level I never expected. I was satisfied with their happy ending.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
I couldn’t decide whether to laugh my head off or cry my heart out. Nicholas makes it so hard to say goodbye. Crazy Rich Cajuns is a celebration of the best of what romance has to offer. Kennedy and Bennett make your heart sing and your day a tad brighter. With their comical banter and their tempestuous relationship, Nicholas kept me salivating all the way til the end. Parting is such sweet sorrow, but Nicholas and Co. make sure that we leave with a smile on our face.
I thought that this was simply terrific romance. The fun storyline captures your full attention and does not let go until the last page is read. There are plenty of sparks and clever banter as Kennedy and Bennett’s long simmering attraction (This is a standalone read but these two make appearances in the three previous books of the series) finally reaches the boiling point. There is lots of humor and tugged on heartstrings as these two struggle with their confusion and emotions as they try to reconcile what their heads tell them they should want with what their hearts actually yearn for. Kennedy, with her goth style, fierceness, sassy attitude and backbone of steel was someone I’d love to be friends with an just hang out. As for Bennett, I though he was one silver-tongued, hot nerd with a beautiful heart. As a couple these two were sizzling, sweet and completely swoon worthy! If you are looking for a great romantic read that can deliver steam, heart and a excellent storyline, you can’t go wrong with this book an in fact this whole series.
Living in Autre, Louisiana and helping her brothers run their tour boat business, is what Kennedy loves. Kennedy, a former beauty pageant contestant, now wears combat boots, has tattoos, and red tips in her hair. She’s loud and can out cuss any sailor, then she meets Bennett. Bennett is a lawyer but his true passion is saving the environment. He buys into the Boys of Bayou touring business and loves to give Kennedy heck. Kennedy can’t believe how attracted to Bennett she is because he is rich and shines his shoes. When he invites her back to Savannah for his father’s retirement party, she’s in for an eye opener. Can she follow her dreams and keep Bennett too?
Great story. Humorous and very sexy. I know people at the doctors office thought I was crazy because I was laughing out loud. I love the little otter.

An Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book was received from the author via Booksprout. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.
Kennedy and Bennett’s book has been on my “want” list since the series first brought them together. I simply adore the banter, the chemistry, tug between them. And in their own book, it’s all racheted up a notch or a hundred. Watching Bennett deal with his attraction, amusement, and bemusement is simply delicious (and no, not like bananas). He’s trying to figure her out and it is so cute!
Kennedy is also trying to figure out Bennett. He can’t possibly want her, and more importantly, she can’t possibly want him. He’s the opposite of everything she should want and everything she’s familiar with. So, she’ll take him for some fun but not to keep. But Bennett has other ideas.
I love how they prove themselves to each other in little ways before we get to grand gestures. Although that grand gesture is as ill-advised as some of the others. But, as we know, with the Landrys, there is always a grand gesture just around the corner. (Having said that, grand gestures that require a trip to the hospital should not be attempted in real life.)
The side story with the most impact on Kennedy and Bennett’s relationship, though, was painful. I totally understood where Kennedy was coming from and actually did not find it romantic in the least. I’ve got little time for people who act the way her grandmother acted and felt nothing but pity for her grandfather. It was deeply unfortunate for me that he was held up as a model for how Bennett should be. Doormat is not how I want Bennett to act.
Despite this, the love of family for Kennedy was strong and sustained the story well. I especially liked how the family consistently rallied for all the animals and I can’t wait for Chase’s story this Christmas! As always, Erin Nicholas tells a hot, steamy, but also sweet and tender story. And she always keeps me coming back for more!
GAH!!!! Crazy Rich Cajuns is the 4th book in the Boys of the Bayou series, written by the wonderful romance author, Erin Nicholas. If you want a freaking fantastic book full of banter, humor, heat, boys of the Bayou, an exasperating family of extremes, hors d’oeuvres, denial, a bit o’drama, and a cannot-put-down-this-book storyline…THIS IS IT!
“If I really needed your attention, I’d start texting. Photos. Naked photos.”
His entire body reacted to that. He cleared his throat. “I would definitely—“
“Of my grandfather.”
The boss (kinda) and employee (kinda) relationship in this one; between the “hurricane” Landry, Kennedy, and the investor/co-owner, Bennett Baxter was so perfectly flirtatiously written! Kennedy is able to explore and expand on interests she has. Bennett is able to stand up for himself and take a route he has been wanting to take…but just needing the push. We also get a little more insight into Ellie and Leo’s relationship!
“Every couple needs a Leo, right?”
This book HAS everything…and IS everything! Crazy Rich Cajuns has all of the characters from the previous books in the series…including; Sawyer, Josh, Owen, Maddie, Tori, Juliet, Hilarious Ellie and Leo. The whole dynamic of this group will have you laughing and swooning so hard! This “can” be read as a standalone, but would be sooooo much better read in order of this series. This whole Bayou series should be at the top of your list! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book!!! 5 heated stars from me!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest feelings in this review!
It’s soooooo worth the wait!
We’ve all been waiting for Bennett & Kennedy’s book since we met Bennett back in Sweet Home Louisiana & got to enjoy Bennett & Kennedy’s “conversations” every since!
We all love Ellie & Leo but Teddy & Charlie & the Bennett side of the equation is just as much of a hoot! Love the “surprise”.
Wonderful twist with Kennedy and finding out who’s the Leo in the relationship.
Another fantastic read!
