A sexy, small town, opposites attract rom com!He wears suits and ties. He’ll one day inherit a fortune. He has a law degree. He shines his shoes, for God’s sake. A weekend trip to Savannah for a fancy-schmancy party with his highfalutin family is the surefire way to prove that they have nothing in common but intense chemistry. And to maybe scratch this I’ve-never-wanted-anyone-like-I-want-you itch once or twice. Or five times.
But it takes only about twenty-four hours for the bayou girl and the city boy to figure out that they don’t really know much at all–about each other, or about themselves. And figuring all of this out is going to be downright crazy.

Kennedy and Bennett’s love story in Crazy Rich Cajuns by Erin Nicholas, book four in her Boys of the Bayou series, was amazing as they were perfect for each other. Ms. Nicholas’ books are a must read for me as they grab me and don’t let go from the moment I open the book and read page one. Kennedy and Bennett appear to be opposites but they are so much more similar than I expected. The direction this story took was perfect despite not being what I expected. Kennedy was such a surprise, although knowing that she used to compete on the pageant circuit I shouldn’t have been that shocked at her decisions for her future. Plus, Bennett was more than just a rich, hot, man, attracted to Kennedy. Throw in his crazy family and their friends and you have an amazing story.
Ms. Nicholas wrote a wonderful, humorous, challenging, and sexy story that is not to be missed. This tale is filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters. This book contains a cast of characters one would only find in an Erin Nicholas story. I am so glad Kennedy and Bennett found the courage to be true to who they really are as well as to take a chance at love and a forever together. I highly recommend Crazy Rich Cajuns to other reader and cannot wait for the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
4.5 Stars
I loved this series so much! I’ve be waiting for Bennett and Kennedy’s story. I enjoy their banter with one another. You can tell right away they are going to have great chemistry and be explosive. I so enjoyed their journey and it’s one worth reading for sure! One reason why I love this series so much is the humor. I laughed from the beginning to the end. I just love the characters in the Bayou. It makes me wish I could visit them myself because they are one fun bunch. This book gives you heat and humor, but it also delvers on the heart and feels. It’s a book you don’t want to miss. Any book in this series you truly don’t want to miss.
Crazy Rich Cajuns by Erin Nicholas is the fourth book in her fabulous Boys of the Bayou series. This is the standalone romantic tale of Kennedy Landry, the Landry sister that runs them all and keeps them straight, and Bennet Baxter, the rich business mogul/lawyer/environmentalist that is now part owner in Boys of the Bayou airboat tours. The constant back and forth bickering between them has been evident in the previous books. Always sharp tongued with a hint of flirtation. Each one antagonising the other just so they’d have an excuse to interact more. When Bennet takes Kennedy with him to his parents home in Georgia for his father’s retirement party it clearly moves their flirtation into potential relationship and it is HOT! The emotional issues each of them has and works through in this short trip is astounding and the heat of their romance is off the charts while the charm of their families and futures and bonding is consistent with the rest of the series and is absolutely heart-warming. Definitely a must-read author for me at this point – this book was awesome! Enjoy!
I received a review copy before release for an honest review.
This book is my new favorite in the series. It features two very opposite characters. Kennedy who is very Bayou and runs the Bayou company with her brothers, and Bennett who is the big city boy who becomes a partner in the Bayou business. These two are very opposite attracts and they are so cute together that I loved every second of this story.
He wants to get her alone so he can explore their attraction and so he takes her home to Savannah and that was such a super fun trip. Kennedy saves the day and everyone falls in love with her. But Bennett wants Kennedy from the Bayou and well Kennedy grows and changes on this trip and I loved watching her grow and see her charm the folks in Savannah.
I don’t want to spoil too much but I loved how much fun these two are together and I loved watching Kennedy figure out what she wants for her life and watching her constantly surprise Bennett.
This was one wonderful story and prob my most favorite story that the author has ever written. It does easily stand alone and I believe it is the last book in this series.
I have not read any of the Boys of Bayou. So jumping in on book 4 is something I don’t normally like to do because I always feel like I am missing out on part of the story. But Ms. Nicholas’ writing did not make me feel lost. I was consumed from the beginning. This book does though leaving me wanting to read the first three to find out about the rest of this clan.
It was a fun, sexy, and emotional story. This is definitely a must read. I can not wait to read the other books in this series!!
CRAZY RICH CAJUNS (Boys of the Bayou Book 4) by Erin Nicholas is another great addition to this contemporary romance series, in fact, it is my favorite. For three books we have been getting glimpses of Kennedy and Bennett sparking off of each other and in this book in the series Ms. Nicholas delivers a romance that is everything I was hoping it would be.
Kennedy Landry runs The Boys of the Bayou Tour office. Kennedy dresses like a goth, tattoo and piercings in rebellion of her years in childhood pageants. She runs the office like a general, swears and drinks like a sailor and cares for her extended family and friends with her whole heart. So why does she have this fascination with the new partner in the suit?
Bennett Baxter is rich, runs his own foundation which works on environmental issues especially in the bayou and wants to fit in with the Landry clan in Autre, LA. He is especially attracted to the smart-mouthed goth who runs the tour office.
Bennett invites Kennedy to his father’s retirement party in Savannah over the weekend. Kennedy is not sure how or if she will fit in with Bennett’s society friends, but she sure wants to get Bennett in bed and try to figure out why she craves him to distraction. Bennett wants Kennedy to be herself and show his parents he is not interested in the path they have laid out for him.
What they both find out is that they have explosive sexual chemistry, but they do not know much about each other and still have a few things to find out about themselves. Can these opposites find their HEA?
Kennedy and Bennett are such great characters. Ms. Nicholas surprised me with the romance starting one way and then… plot twist…with both characters growing and changing in a way I did not anticipate. All the situations during the weekend party had me laughing out loud and/or cheering. Ms. Nicholas always gives her characters entertaining, realistic and sexy dialogue that pulls you into the story. Kennedy and Bennett have explicit sex scenes that burn up the pages. (Wait until you read the shower scene. Smokin’!) They also have great sexy texts and dialogue.
All the books can be read as standalone romances, but I recommend you read them all because they are just so much sexy fun and full of love. They are all short, just 12 chapters each and will have you not wanting to stop until the HEA.
The best two things about this fourth installment in the Boys of the Bayou series? Laughing out loud and needing a fan.
The banter between Bennett and Kennedy was hilarious and their flirting was definitely fan-worthy! I had fun reading this story and catching up with the Landrys. The Baxter family was definitely interesting… The part with the governor at the retirement party? Classic.
Crazy Rich Cajuns is the 4th book in Author Erin Nicholas’ Boys of the Bayou series. Ever since Bennett Baxter visited the bayou for the first time, the chemistry between Bennett and Kennedy was palpable. And now, their story is being told! I really enjoyed watching Kennedy come into her own, and seeing how Bennett reacted was great! Different scenery gave the story a freshness that surprised me. (I love the idea of the bayou, but don’t know that I’d want to be there all of the time). I think Kennedy’s interactions with the Baxters and others, the way she handles herself in uncomfortable situations, and her surprising dreams, make this a story to remember. Well done!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kennedy Landry is the kind of girl you want to grow up to be, or raise your daughter to become. She’s smart, beautiful, doesn’t take grief from anyone. She’s been raised around men her entire life so she needs to have the whole take no prisoners attitude. Bennett Baxter sees through that tough girl exterior to the girly girl underneath. I’ve enjoyed their banter ever since Bennett popped up in an earlier book. This book took them to a whole new level. I loved seeing the way she interacted with his family. I also loved watching them head towards their happily ever after. Great book and great series.
This girl from the bayou is the best of the Boys of the Bayou series. Not only was I laughing at page one, there was no way I was putting this book down, regardless of how late it got!
Kennedy is my sarcastic, cussing, tattooed southern sister-from-another-mister. Not only does she have a smart mouth, but she’s got street smarts that will get her farther in life than most people. She a caretaker of her family, as well as the family business. And she’s got the hots for buttoned-up, shiny shoe (ha!) Georgia lawyer Bennett…and isn’t sure whether she likes it or not! Bennett likes to give it right back to Kennedy, which throws her off her game when he tosses the curse words and dirty talk right back at her.
The smoking hot chemistry is there between our mis-matched couple, as is the fun and dysfunction of the Landry family that we’ve seen in the previous books. But what Nicholas threw into Crazy Rich Cajuns was current crises and issues facing our country now, without it sounding preachy or political. It fit into the storyline seamlessly and brought both surprises and a richness to the book that stepped it up from the Landry boys books. That’s not a complaint or a dig…Owen, Josh and Sawyer’s stories were awesome. Kennedy’s books is fantastic!
Yes, it can be read alone, as the whole series can. But please don’t. Read them all, in order, if that’s your groove (like it is mine). Despite the heat, humidity and bayou creatures, you’ll be itching to move to Autry, LA and looking for the Landry family yourself!
The Boys of the Bayou series just keeps getting better and better!
After being introduced a couple of books prior, we finally get the chance to know Bennett Baxter better. He may come from money and is not the typical Bayou boy, but Kennedy is still having a tough time fighting her attraction to him. Their banter and admiration for each other was fun to read and interesting because so much of the action was outside Autre in this book.
Kennedy was a fun heroine who is who she is and isn’t ashamed of it. That doesn’t mean she’s stagnant, though. She grows so much over the course of the story. Similarly, there is more to Bennett than we have learned so far and I loved learning what he has used his love of the environment and knowledge of the law for.
I honestly don’t know how she does it, but Erin Nicholas writes interesting characters and fresh stories even after I have read probably at least 20 of her books. The conflicts don’t feel forced or unnatural for the characters and I loved getting to catch up with couples from the other books in the series.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Oil and water from the moment they met. Kennedy and Bennett have been getting under each other’s skin with their amazing snarky banter. Kennedy is the headstrong daughter in the Landry clan and being attracted to a man wearing glasses and shines his shoes just doesn’t make sense. Yet, every time she needs to contact Bennett, she makes every moment intensely flirtatious while giving him as much trouble as possible. Bennett loves how strong and independent Kennedy is. He is choosing a different path than his parents designed for him and meeting Kennedy is a breath of fresh air for him. Now, how can he convince her that their chemistry is long-term? Heading to Savannah to attend a party for Bennett’s father finally allows these two to push beyond the flirting and just maybe, get to know what is really makes each other tick. But will this push them together or apart? That is the real mystery. I love spending time with Landry’s and finally getting to know Kennedy was a true joy. Add in sexy, altruistic Bennett and well, the pages did pretty much com-bust. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Finally, we get Kennedy’s story. And it was definitely worth waiting for!!! We’ve met the Landry’s of Autry, Louisiana, and watched as each of the boys fell in love with their Happily Ever After. Even the grandparents have tremendous love stories to share of their own. And the Boys of the Big Easy started our fabulous love story in the earlier series. But Kennedy has been in the background of each story, just waiting for her time. She is the only girl of the family. In order to get away from her southern “beauty pageant” past, she went a little overboard to prove her roots. She could hang with any of the guys, cook up a mess of crawfish and grits, fix the airboats motor while keeping everyone in their own place. She wasn’t prepared for Bennett Baxter.
Mr. “Lawyer from an influential southern family”. Mr. “ shine my shoes daily”. Mr. “Yes my pocket square must match my tie”. What in the world would he know about the bayou? He was another toy for Kennedy to play around with. Or was he?
Their innocent banter was always leading to this. The trip to Savannah was a convenient way to accomplish their goal. But when they each take time to look at one another outside of the preconceived ideas and standard fall back humor, they find that they really aren’t so different. And THAT is the Happily Ever After we really wanted for Kennedy.
More great banter and chemistry down on the bayou! Erin Nicholas does it again.
I have been waiting for Kennedy’s book since I started reading about the Landry family! She & Bennett were absolutely perfect together! I honestly couldn’t imagine a more sweet & sassy couple. I loved their banter! I’m so happy we got to go back and see the whole family again too! Loved the entire book!
Oh how I love the Landry family and the bayou! I have been waiting for Kennedy and Bennett’s story ever since his character was introduced in Sweet Home Louisiana and it did not disappoint! We know that Kennedy has been surrounded by Landry men her whole life and has always marched to the beat of her own drummer. She has a take no prisoners attitude and spine of steel. When Bennett Baxter became part owner of the Boys of the Bayou I had a feeling that Kennedy had finally met her match. Bennett is from an old money Savannah family. His father has aspirations of Bennett following his footsteps into politics like he did. Bennett has his own plans for his life and he wants Kennedy to be a part of that. He figures the best way to get her to see how great they can be together is to bring her home to Savannah for a birthday celebration for his father. This way she can meet the family and see why he doesn’t want Georgia politics and that bayou preservation is really his passion. Kennedy thinks that Bennett is fun for the present time but he can’t possibly want to live in the bayou for the long run. Kennedy and Bennett may look like opposites from the outside but underneath it all they really do have the same hopes and dreams. I recommend this hot and spicy Louisiana rom com and even though it stands alone do yourself a favor and read the rest of the books in the series so that you can get to know the Landrys and fall in love with this series as much as I have.
Another awesome read in the Boys of the Bayou series. Will Kennedy finally give Bennett a chance? Absolutely love the chemistry between these two. I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait for more in the series.
I was thrilled to get an ARC of Crazy Rich Cajuns after reading Beauty and the Bayou. I still haven’t had time to read the rest if the series, but I didn’t love it any less.
Bennett and Kennedy are complete opposites, but that doesn’t stop their smouldering attraction to each other.
When Bennett takes her home to meet his family, he’s trying to make a point, but it’s also the start of all the fun.
I wasn’t able to put it down once I started reading !
/5
Highly entertaining, emotional, sexy, fun and engaging romantic journey filled with relatable charters, witty banter, laugh out loud twists and exciting turns…… excellent reading from beginning to end. Adored this thrilling total opposites but destined for each other couple.
CRAZY RICH CAJUNS is the fourth instalment in Erin Nicholas’ contemporary, adult BOYS OF THE BAYOU erotic, romance series focusing on the Landry family. This is cook and bartender Kennedy Landry, and attorney/co-owner of Boys of the Bayou Bennett Baxter’s story line. CRAZY RICH CAJUNS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Kennedy and Bennett) CRAZY RICH CAJUNS follows the building relationship and romance between cook and bartender Kennedy Landry, and attorney/co-owner of Boys of the Bayou Bennett Baxter. As part owner of the Boys of the Bayou Swamp tours, Bennett Baxter finds himself attracted to over the top Kennedy Landry, the company’s PA and go-to person. His father’s upcoming retirement from political life means Bennett has the opportunity to show-off the woman that calls to his heart, a woman that screams all kinds of wrong for the power elite. What ensues is Kennedy and Bennett’s building relationship, and the potential fall-out as Kennedy becomes a pawn between Bennett, and the political aspirations of a powerful family.
Bennett Baxter has no desire to enter into politics although he has been groomed from an early age. An environmentalist at heart, Bennett is driven to save the Louisiana coast line, and in doing so goes up against the people in power. Kennedy Landry has never wanted much beyond her family and friends but coming face to face with the whose who of government, our heroine discovers there is more to life than serving drinks and eating Creole.
The relationship between Kennedy and Bennett has been slowly burnings since Bennett’s investment in Boys of the Bayou. There is definite palpable sexual attraction, an attraction that pulls at our couple with every encounter. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
Grandma Ellie and Grandpa Leo return as Kennedy’s mentors and family, as well as several of Kennedy’s brother-there is some fantastic fun and protectiveness between the Landry siblings. We are introduced to Bennett’s large extended family; his mother Maria and father Senator Preston Baxter, as well as Governor Charles, and uncle Teddy Benoit, and an assortment of cousins, nieces and nephews.
CRAZY RICH CAJUNS is a story of family, power and politics; a story of friendship, romance and love. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the romance is sexy and spicy; the characters are energetic and animated. CRAZY RICH CAJUNS is captivating and terrific addition to the Boys of the Bayou.
