I have been waiting for Kennedy and Bennett’s story and I was not disappointed. Crazy Rich Cajuns is a true masterpiece. I laughed so hard I cried, this is truly a must read for all book lovers. Sarcasm, witt, animals, love and friendship this book has it all.
This writer is one of the few voices in contemporary romance who has the ability to bring my world to a screeching halt. The second her book is available to me, everything in my life ceases to exist (sorry family) and I greedily soak up every word. That didn’t happen overnight, but time and time again her talent, humor and heart have effortlessly made me fall in love with her characters so that I will always, always need her next book in my life.
Truthfully, I’ve been dying for Kennedy and Bennett’s book. The glimpses we’ve had of them so far have been sassy, snarky and hilarious, so I knew their story would be epic, but this was so much better than I could have imagined! OMGee, the way these two dance around each other is a delicious kind of agony that builds the most tantalizing anticipation. These two snap and snip and quarrel, and it only serves to turn up the tension and heat until they finally face facts, give in to their feelings for each other, and singe everything within a ten mile radius.
We can’t really talk about any of these stand-alone books in this series without acknowledging the Landry clan. The big, loud, crazy, interfering, endearing, delightful Landrys. With quirks for days and opinions whether or not you want to hear them, this rambunctious, larger-than-life family will make you want to move to Autre, LA, just to be in the Landrys’ orbit. Somehow, each book in this series is better than the last, and these crazy Cajuns permanently own a huge chunk of my heart.
If you’re new to this series, Kennedy and Bennett’s story is a great place to start, but I’ll warn you. Once you get a taste of these bayou boys (and gals), it’s exactly like potato chips and you won’t be able stop with just one. The setting will intrigue you, the characters will enchant you, and their story will captivate you, so that you’ll finish the book with a happy sigh while eagerly anticipating your next encounter with these beloved characters. Do yourself a big favor and escape to Autre today!
*I read an early edition of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide feedback and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source.
If it is even possible, I loved this book even more than the other Boys of the Bayou book. This book has it all; family, love, emotions, an awesome hero and heroine and great supporting characters.
Kennedy is a tough as they come woman. She wears her armor by way of her clothes, piercings and make-up. It’s her way of putting up walls to keep people out. Kennedy runs the office for the Boys of the Bayou swamp boat tour company that her family owns. It takes her no nonsense attitude to keep the company running efficiently. Everything is great until a new part owner is brought aboard, Bennett Baxter!
Bennett loves the bayou and wants it to be a bigger part of his life. When he gets the opportunity to buy a portion of the swamp boat company, he jumps at the chance. He gets along well with everyone involved, except Kennedy. But oh, how he wants to get along with her. The feeling is mutual although neither one will admit to it.
Bennett and Kennedy were nothing like I thought they’d be. They were so much more! I just loved them. I couldn’t have imagined half of what happened. What a great book! And, holy moly, there are some hot scenes between the two. The one at about 34%…well let’s just say that I’m shocked that my tablet didn’t start smoking. It wasn’t raunchy or anything, it was just hot! But will the two of them be able to overcome the obstacles in their way and have a future together?
From the moment I start reading this book I couldn’t stop. I laugh so much. Kennedy and Bennet are the best. Their chemistry, dialogue between them is of the charts.
An amazing story by wonderful author. I loved all books in the series but this one is the best.
