A swoon-worthy from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix! If you like smoking hot romance with alpha men and sassy women, you’ll love this series!Sawyer Hamilton is tall, dark, and packaged in a mouth-watering body honed from years as a Navy SEAL. He lands in Diamond Creek on the heels of a brush with death. Romance is dead last on his list of priorities. Violet Carter is very good at many … Carter is very good at many things, including her job. She’s a world-class phlebotomist, if there is such a thing. In fact, she’s so good at it Sawyer can’t stop thinking about her after he meets her in her office.
A kiss so hot it could melt glaciers leaves Violet and Sawyer reeling.
Sawyer is grappling with what comes next, yet the weight he’s been carrying becomes light as a feather whenever Violet is around. There’s that and the fact he can’t keep his hands off of her.
Violet is fiercely independent. She escaped to Alaska after reality gave her a hard slap. She didn’t expect to question everything about her choices once she met Sawyer.
They both fight the fire between them, but it might be burning too hot and fast for them to resist.
*All novels in this series are full-length standalone novels with an HEA.

JH. Croix does not disappoint. Love all the books in this series.
Loved Violet and Sawyer’s story. Croix at her best.
Good read.
It was wonderful to catch up on all the characters from the earlier stories. Violet and Stewart were steamy and lusty and had interesting issues to address.
Very disappointed. I’ve read several other JB Croix books and really enjoyed them but this one was flat. Thought maybe it was his first book but checked and it wasn’t.
I was really enjoying this read until the usual unecessary drama near the end of the story, so I ended up deducting a star for the annoying ghosting…
Sensual, warm-hearted romance with a colorful, Alaskan setting
Violet Carter is a 30-year-old phlebotomist (a lab technician who draws blood) who moved to the (fictional) town of Diamond Creek, Alaska to get as far away as possible from the scene of heartbreak. As the adult survivor of childhood leukemia, she can never have children, and her fiancé dumped her because of it. She is determined to remain single and never risk that kind of rejection again.
Sawyer Hamilton is a 34-year-old SEAL who is recovering from a traumatic leg injury that occurred during a dangerous mission several months ago. He has family at the Frontier Lodge in Diamond Creek, and he decides to come and stay with them while he is on medical leave. He will have to make a decision soon about whether to stay in the Navy or retire, since he can never hold anything but a desk job after his injury. He has not dated in a long time, and his life is in flux, so he is in no position to form a committed relationship with a local woman.
Diamond Creek is a small town, and it is not surprising when these two single, attractive individuals meet. The chemistry between them is immediate and overwhelming. They both agree at the outset that neither wants anything serious, but it soon becomes apparent that what they feel for each other goes far beyond sex.
Violet and Sawyer are very sympathetic protagonists. I liked and admired them both. Their sex scenes are both sensual and heartwarming, because these characters truly care about each other.
This is an HEA romance, and there is a really nice epilogue. There are pleasant cameos from characters in previous books in this series, but they do not at all impinge on the main story that is the romance between Violet and Sawyer.
I have enjoyed every book I have read so far in this delightful series. I love the beautiful, rugged Alaskan setting, and the small town of Diamond Creek is quite unique among every other small-town setting in a romance series that I’ve read over the years. I will definitely read every book in this series.
I rate this book as follows:
Heroine: 4 stars
Hero: 4 stars
Subcharacters: 4 stars
Romance plot: 4 stars
Setting: 5 stars
Writing: 4 stars
Overall: 4 stars
Blah characters, blah conflict that took too long to come to the fore and formulaic plot.
I have read his whole series and this was my least favorite. Didn’t quite fill out the characters as in previous books in this series.
Great book
I could only bring myself to read a little bit of this book because it was so disappointing! There was no love between the couple when they engaged in gratifying each other. I could not find anything endearing in the characters after that and could not read any more. The author took no time to lead into a romance between the two love interests. It was as if she couldn’t be bothered. Well, I cannot be bothered to read the book! Do NOT read Crazy for You by Croix. It is not worth your time.
There were quite a few steamy scenes I had to skip over. I didnt think they were necessary.
It’s finally Sawyer’s turn! If you have read any of the other books in J.H. Croix’s Last Frontier series you know that Sawyer is the youngest brother of the group. He followed his eldest brother, Gage, through the Navy and into the SEALs. He recently suffered an injury to his leg from an IED and is recuperating with his family at the lodge.
We didn’t get to hear much about Sawyer in the previous books. He was the elusive brother who was always on a secret mission. He made small appearances during the holidays and weddings of his other siblings, but he always had this air of mystery to him so us fans have been eagerly awaiting his story. And J.H. Croix did not disappoint! Sawyer and Violet meet at the hospital when he comes to get his blood drawn before surgery. There is an instant attraction that singes the pages. They go on a couple of dates but spend a lot of time with their mutual friends having group dinners where they can barely keep up with the conversations around them because they are about to burn up from the heat they generate just being in the same room together. However, Violet has had a lot of loss in her life and had decided that love just wasn’t in the cards for her. Can she open her heart and work through her issues? Will Sawyer stay in Diamond Creek or go back to the military?
Steamy love scenes. Real life issues. Another home run from one of my favorite authors.
This was the 8th book of this series and I really loved this book but all the others too. It held family struggles, finding love, steamy and romantic.

great series
Free for an honest review. Another great read from JH Croix. Sawyer is trying to recover from an injury as a Navy Seal and trying to figure out whether to stay in or retire. Of course he goes to his brother’s lodge to recoup. Violet decided to take her career to Alaska and try to start over as she discovered some devasting news. This is a match made in heaven.
