Their marriage was nothing more than a business transaction. Or at least that was what they told themselves.
Poppy Weston had been burned enough times by undeserving men to know her heart was best left under lock and key. She was content with her life, even with the lack of romance. Then Jase Hyland walked into Redbud Inn and offered her something she couldn’t refuse. In return, all she had to … she had to do was marry him.
Jase had seen firsthand the kind of damage relationships caused, and he wanted nothing to do with it. He’d been taught from a young age that the only things that should matter to a man were wealth and power. However, all it took was a series of events to lead him down a path he never expected to travel.
It was supposed to be simple. No feelings, no emotions, just two friends entering into a mutually beneficial arrangement.
He thought he had it all figured out . . . until he went and fell for his wife.

If you love marriage of convenience, then this is the book for you!!
When the man of her fantasies offers her a proposal – a marriage in exchange for both of them getting what they want, who is she to say no? She knows she’ll have to protect her heart, as Jase already takes up too much space in her mind, and he’s not one who believes in love or relationships, so she doesn’t expect the feelings that start to grow between them. Or the feelings she THOUGHT had grown between them. But it’s fine, this marriage is in name only, right?
Whew but this one is intense! Jase is a serious alpha, protective af, but he’s so damaged and it broke my heart when his backstory was revealed. We got glimpses of it in his sister’s story (Bad Alibi), but when it’s fully revealed – so heartbreaking. Poppy is his absolute perfect match because she’s loyal and loving, and willing to stand by her friend turned more, even when it seemed as if her heart was to be permanently broken. Dang but I swooned and even shed a few tears over this amazing couple. Now I’m just waiting very impatiently for Bittersweet, Shane and Jensen’s story.
If you love marriage of convenience, then this is the book for you!
Jessica Prince is a master of small town romance – she’s a one click author for me. To add to my excitement about this book, marriage of convenience is one of my favorite tropes! And trust me, she didn’t let me down!
Jase is a protector by nature and Poppy is the sweet, genuinely kind woman who brings him to his knees. It was both fun and emotional to watch their love unfold. Jessica Prince has the innate ability to make it hard to see through your tears, but not be able to stop reading because you just have to see what happens next.
I must admit…Shane and Jensen have piqued my interest, another gift Ms. Prince gives us….the ‘bones’ of the next story in the current one. I can’t wait for their story and you don’t want to miss this one!!
If you love marriage of convenience, then this is the book for you!
Swoon… Seriously I adored this book, because the romance was not only smoking hot but Jase was so swoon worthy and adorable when it came to his connection with Poppy. Anyways Crazy Beautiful is the second book in the Redemption series and picks up after Cannon and Farah from the first book, this follows Farah’s big brother Jase and continues on about their families horrible history.
Crazy Beautiful follow Jase who has finally beat his horrible father father and rid him of harming their company and their lives any further. However it comes at a cost, the board of Jase’ company says he has a reputation that will look bad on the company and he needs to find a bride to help smooth things over, or they will had the CEO reins to his horrible cousin. Jase’ only hope is his sister close friend Poppy, the adorably sweet owner of a small town inn and someone he trusts completely. But with family drama becoming dangerous, and hearts start becoming fuller into the mix, Jase and Poppy are about the have their lives turned upside down.
Jase totally won me over, the protective big brother and has a soft spot for sweet and innocent Poppy, he just couldn’t get better. He had the worst upbringing and wanted to do right by his sister and protect everyone he care about, even if he does it the wrong way his heart is always in the right place. Poppy is a spiTfire and sweetest ever, she deserved some happiness and Jase brought her back to life as she did the same for him.
Overall I loved this book, I love the characters, and love seeing characters from other series pop in. I’m a big fan of Princes and devour any of her books, especially since I love small town romances and she does them the best.
Start to finish, I absolutely adored everything about Crazy Beautiful!
From the very first moment Jade and Poppy met, I knew their love and romance would be remarkable. And I was so right!
This is not your typical “marriage of convenience”—no siree, there’s some serious attraction and sexual tension shimmering beneath the surface. Just waiting to rise up and break free. Break over Jase and Poppy to practically drown them in desire and lust.
But on top of that heady, sizzling sexual attraction, there’s a real friendship building too. Neither Jade nor Poppy have had someone in their lives that they could just love and be themselves around. Be real. Be honest. Be open to finding love.
“Jase Hyland was a full contact sleeper. The big spoon to my little. Who would have guessed that?”
Poppy thought she did, but her ex, Cory turned out to be a lying, thieving bastard. And Jase swore off love—he had no intentions of turning into his vapid parents.
But Poppy and Jase did find love, and finally were brave enough to reach out and grab it.
Something that wasn’t easy. Especially when not everyone is happy Poppy and Jase found their happily ever after, but wow, was it worth their battle. ~ Missy, 5 stars
Crazy Beautiful is a great love story that starts off as a story about a marriage to try and save a company but then ends up being so much more. Jessica Prince does it again with Jase and Poppy’s story – it’s filled with wonderful romance that starts out as a great friendship.
We are going back to Redemption – we met Jase (Farrah’s extremely hot older brother) in book 1 of the Redemption series. Now he is finally breaking away from his awful family but in order to take over his family’s company he needs to get married. The only person who can remotely fill that bill is Poppy an inn owner in Redemption. She also happens to be incredibly beautiful and desperately needs his help to get the inn up and running. What starts out as a mutually beneficial arrangement turns into so much more – something neither sees coming.
I love Jessica Prince – she has a great way of building out her worlds and characters. Jase and Poppy’s relationship shifts slowly – little things like holding hands or a chaste kiss start to build into something more and I loved it. We also get to see other friends we have to meet in the past cameos that I loved.
All in all Crazy Beautiful is a great read – if you are looking for an escape (and let’s face it right now who isnt) its a perfect way to go.
I know I say it all the time, but THIS is my new favorite book Jessica has written!!! I got up early this morning to dive into this beauty while my kids were still sleeping, and less than two hours later I had tears streaming while my heart was so happy.
Fake relationships are one of the best tropes out there, and Jase and Poppy are just so perfect for each other. Both have reasons for avoiding relationships (that prologue made me cry so much) and they have both been through so much in their lives.. But their chemistry is undeniable. What started off as a mutually beneficial relationship turned into love in such an authentic way!
I loved how Jase was both an alpha, yet so very kind-hearted. He’s such a good man despite his upbringing, and he immediately sees a kindred spirit in Poppy. And watching her be all shy and sweet around him to a total badass is so awesome to witness! I can’t stop gushing about this book — it’s just so amazing!!!
And would it be a Jessica Prince novel without a level of suspense?! I was on the edge of my kindle for all those scenes. Holy crap!
I love the small town feel when reading this authors work, and add that to the fact that the relationships between the women are so genuine and real — seriously the friendship Jess weaves with all the women is so endearing — makes me love her that much more.
I also can’t wait for Shane and Jensen’s story! Jess has a knack for making me want more of her words as soon as I finish reading — she’s that good! Plus I’m hoping we’ll see Stone (Shane’s brother, and if you remember, he was in Ravage as well!) And I need his story too!!!
Make sure you don’t miss out on this book! I can’t wait for more from this amazing author!!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
This book just sucks you in until the very end!!
Poppy and Jase have a chemistry that is off the charts.
Poppy has not had it easy in ways. When she took on Redbud Inn she had plans and these plans involved having someone to help her. When this doesn’t workout she is on her own. She makes due but it isn’t easy. When Jase comes with an offer can Poppy keep clear of the line not to cross?
Jase may seem like he has the perfect life as a rich businessman but all is not as it seems. His life has been h*** and he is doing everything he can to change this. When he finally thinks he has it all figured out a curve-ball is thrown at him. When he goes to the one person he knows/hopes will help can he keep clear of that line not to cross?
The twists in this story had me hooked from the beginning. I loved seeing past characters and how they are willing to do anything to help. My heart hurt for both Poppy and Jase because of all the S*** they have been through.
I can’t wait for the next Redemption book!
Do you ever read a book by an author and then go back and read books from their backlist? I did after finishing Crazy Beautiful. I went back and reread six books by Jessica Prince. Crazy Beautiful reminded me of what an amazing author she is and I wanted the comfort of rereading this week. It’s been a while since I read a marriage of convenience but I was excited to read Jase and Poppy’s book. Jase is the one who needs a marriage and the sexy innkeeper and his sister’s friend is quickly the perfect solution. Both Jase and Poppy have been burned in the past and it takes a little while for their marriage to become more. But while they’re getting to know each other, the focus is on the little things they do to support and care for one another. Those little things just warm my heart. Honestly, this is just a sweet story of two people with injured souls falling in love and it was exactly what I needed to read.
I loved heading back to Redemption! Jessica is a master of creating these beautiful small towns with awesome characters. And as with all of her books, I was sucked in from the start and couldn’t put it down. I love Jase and Poppy! Their love story is one of my favorites! You could feel their connection from the moment they met in Bad Alibi. Their relationship may have started off as fake but the feelings they have are real. There is an easiness to their relationship and they definitely aren’t lacking in the chemistry department. Crazy Beautiful is the perfect blend of sweet, sexy, and suspense. I recommend taking a trip to Redemption, TN. You won’t be disappointed! Can’t wait to go back!
I am so happy that I got to return to Redemption for Jase and Poppy’s story. We met both of these characters in Bad Alibi, the great 1st book in this Redemption series. We know from that book that Farah and Jase are the products of some not-so-nice parents and, under the protection of Ben, have grown into adults. This book continues this story and gives us more insight into Jase’s background.
One of the attributes I like best about Jase is the descriptor used about him; he’s a protector. In Jase’s case, that is very much a two-edged sword. He appears to be on his way to exhaustion to do just that. He protects everyone from the evil that is his parents. He is so focused on being the knight that he does not listen to good advice, and this is probably his most significant fault. In his drive, he backs himself into a corner of needing a wife to carry out his plan, and Poppy meets the criteria of what he needs. He already likes and respects her, and, once again, he sees an opportunity to be a knight to help someone.
Poppy, who was left by a no-good fiance to handle the inn and pay the debts, keeps working hard to honor her obligations. She loves her inn, and she is determined to make it work. When Jase offers her an opportunity that will ease her load and help him, she agrees. Both of them are dancing around the fact that not only do they find each other attractive, but they just like each other. The relationship quickly transforms into a sweet love story of these two bruised but terrific people.
Of course, from there, there are misunderstandings and some excellent suspense. There has to be, right? Jessica does a good job bringing the retribution hammer that we have been wanting since reading Farah’s story. We also meet some exciting new characters that we can hope to see coming in future Redemption books. The tale of Jase and Poppy was so charming, and it truly is two people you want to find happiness–they so deserve it.
I was anxious to get this story into my hands and trust me it didn’t disappoint me in the least. This amazing 5 star story was a page turner that the readers do not want to miss.
Jase was first introduced in Bad Alibi. He needs some help so he will make a proposition to Poppy that even she cannot resist. Lines will be blurred.
I love this new series, Redemption, with all new amazing characters. This story was intriguing and very addicting. I basically read it in one sitting. It’s a small town, sweet yet sexy story that consumed from the very first page to the very last one. Bottomline this is a must read.
It can safely be read as a standalone. But for better enjoyment, read Bad Alibi first. Told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
Another great read by this wonderful author! This new series is so fantastic, I just can’t stop reading until it’s over. Poppy is so sweet, naive but has strength to overcome her past. Then in walks the sexy brother of her new friend, what is she supposed to do with all hotness!! The banter between Poppy & Jase was fun, just increasing the like ability of these characters. I’m not sure how this author does it but I love all of her characters within all of her books. She makes them seem so real, so lovable. Jase is one of the most fiercely protective characters & it was written so well that you felt how much Poppy was to him. This book hit on some darker areas, some bits of evil people that I would love to see Jessica explore in the future. She has great potential to make us fall in love with a evil character that turns better for the right woman. A great spin on a marriage of convenience storyline.
I highly recommend this book. Told in dual POV.
Once again Jessica Prince takes us back to Redemption with an emotionally suspenseful story to keep you intrigued from beginning to the very powerful end.
This book had everything I love in a great romance from the fake relationship to the heart pounding twist and turns. Jessica will pull on the heartstrings and make you feel all the feels. I was on the edge of my seat rooting for the happily ever after. It was just crazy beautiful this love story.
I can’t get wait till we’re swept away to Redemption again as I can’t get enough. It’s one of my most favorite series.
4.5 stars
If this author writes it then I will always read it. This book is another great example of why that is. Her characters are not only relatable but also likable. There is just something about them that draws me in. I see their flaws and baggage and immediately want to either fix them, hug them, or love them, possibly all three at the same time. That was definitely the case here.
I fell in love with Jace and Poppy in Farrah’s book so getting them together in this book seemed like a dream come true. Especially, considering that other than Farrah being the common denominator these two had nothing in common. I was wrong in that assumption because these two were truly the yin to each other’s yang. I loved that Poppy made Hace realize how special it was to be in that position of being someone’s favorite. Good Lord, did this amazing guy need that. My heart hurt for him. Almost as hard as it rooted for him to find that love. I am not sure I could have picked a better leading woman for him either. There was something tenacious about Poppy. She was all southern charm, sassy, sweet, and full of grit. She could definitely hold her own.
However, the person that truly won in this book was Bennett. Good Lord, did this amazing man steal the show. I cheered at a certain scene in the book. I also liked that the author gave a hint of what is to come. There were times in this book that she reminded me of another favorite author of mine which I am TOTALLY loving because there is just something about these cavemen like, jealous over the top, take no crap men that love their women something fierce. While Jace wasn’t this way as much as Cannon was I can see that the next one might be.
My only complaint with the book was that the ending came up so fast (at around 85%) followed by an immediate epilogue where everything was explained in it. I know this is nothing new. However, I wanted it explained separately thus giving the epilogue the chance to just be the future or happily for now moment to shine. I am sure I am just being picky. Regardless, another fantastic book. Love Hope Valley and Redemption and I highly recommend both series and this author. There is a reason that she is a one-click author for me
Crazy Beautiful by Jessica Prince is the second book in her new Redemption series. Part of an interconnected but stand-alone new series, this also ties in loosely to her Hope Valley series and is just as small-town wonderful and glorious perfection! This is the story of Poppy, the owner of the Redbud Inn in small town Redemption, Tennessee. A hometown girl with a new best friend (Farrah from book one, Bad Alibi) and a whole lot of Inn to take care of by herself. When Farrah’s brother, the wickedly hot Jase, shows up with a proposition Poppy just can’t say no. Between Jase and his whole package deliciousness and her immediate needs for the Inn, yes is the only answer she has for him, but when emotions come into play, the risks grow larger and the feelings get complicated. Add in Jase & Farrah’s toxic parents and their nefarious dealings and the complications and risks grow exponentially. Told in dual POV, well-written and well-paced with a few “Holy Cow!” moments that will shock you, this was a fantastic story and I cannot wait for what is next in this small-town haven. Enjoy!
This is the second book of the series. I think that it is very important that you read book 1 in order to fully understand and enjoy this book. We met both Jase and Poppy in book 1. This is their story. The storyline keeps you engaged in the book. I loved the characters and my heart got pulled in a few directions as I neared the end. It was great to read about some characters that we came to know in book one and we got to meet some new characters in this book. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
Small Town Romance | Marriage of Convenience
Jessica Prince slays the small-town romance trope. I’ve only read a few of her books but I can tell just from these few that she’s the best of the best when it comes to these novels. Why? Because you’re transplanted right into the world and immediately connect with the characters. The values they hold are strong, and they work perfectly for the setting. All in all, it’s simply perfect and I can’t praise this book enough. If you’re a hardcore small-town romance fan like I am then you won’t want to miss this book, or any other books Jessica has written.
As with most books within the trope, readers can be sure to find the sweetest romance, and characters that instantly take up space in your heart. Jase and Poppy were incredible together and seeing these two slowly fall in love despite past traumas (Jace from his parent’s horribly treatment of him and his sister, and Poppy being heartbroken and left by her ex-boyfriend) that they went through. I loved how Jessica brought these two together with a marriage of convenience trope and was rooting for them despite their misgivings about falling for one another. Honestly, I just fell so hard and fast for these two that I couldn’t get enough and I was sad that it ended.
Not only does this book have small town feels and a marriage of convenience trope, but there’s a little suspense and a shocking twist towards the end that leaves you hanging by the edge of your seat! My anxiety went through the roof for a few minutes, but I knew Jessica wouldn’t let me down (and she didn’t). I loved it!
Overall, this is a beautiful love story with wonderful characters and a fantastic plot. Jessica leaves breadcrumbs for secondary character relationships that have potential to be the next book and I am crossing my fingers that Shane’s story is next!
