When Krista catches her boss doing the unthinkable, the only thing she can do is run. Straight into the arms of the eye-candy she’s been trying not to flirt with on her lunch break. But whose side is he on?
Ryan’s security firm is having a hard time getting off the ground, and this may be just the job to help the company out. But pseudo-bounty hunter isn’t really what Pierce Securities is … Securities is trying to get a name for. When he finds out their target is the classy lady from the park, all of Ryan’s senses go on high alert. What do these men want with her?
Krista is forced into Ryan’s sanctuary in the woods, where she realizes just how wild he is, but she doesn’t want to tame him. He may feel his methods of protection endangered her, but without Krista in his life, Ryan is crazed.
This is book #1 in the Pierce Securities, a Romantic Suspense series by Anne Conley, author of the Stories of Serendipity and The Four Winds.

Krista’s Life changed from office accountant to a person in hiding. What she walked into and saw in her boss’s office made her go on the run. Ryan worked for a security firm ended up to protect her! this story is emotional, dangerous action packed.
I enjoyed listening took this story narrated by Sarah Grant!

Intrigue, suspense, action, romance, but could have a trigger for some, beware. Characters are well developed and I’m sure we will here more from them in the continuing series Pierce Securities.
Sarah Grant was the narrator for Craze.
Reviewed for Audiobook Obsession
Craze is lots of action and suspense. Krista walks in on her boss and witnesses something unspeakable. She tries to do the right thing but soon gets caught up in a dark and dangerous situation.
When Ryan’s security firm gets involved, Ryan tries to keep their relationship on a business level but the attraction is too strong.
“…you’re a man. And we have our weaknesses. One of those weaknesses is a beautiful woman.”
“She’s more than that.”
I listened to most of Craze on audiobook and enjoyed the narration.
-3.5 Stars-
CRAZE is the first book in the Pierce Securities series. Each will feature a different couple and will stand on its own, but I recommend reading them in order, as there will be updates on the relationships formed in the previous books. CRAZE is just the first book in a series that is destined to entertain and seduce her readers.
I don’t know who I love more – Krista or Ryan, aka Classy Lady and Eye Candy. Of course, I also wanted to shake both of them equally as well. Both are trying so hard not to read too much into the other that they’re both missing the signs that there is more to read! Ryan is so protective I half expected him to turn into a wolf or a bear at any minute. Krista may be in danger, but she is no wilting flower waiting for her knight to do all of the protecting. She is just so strong and capable, while still feminine and beautiful. The all-around perfect woman for Ryan… if they’ll both allow it to happen!
Narration: I read this as a kindle edition back when it was originally released, but I wanted to enjoy the audio release as well. I loved Sarah Grant’s Texas accents, both male and female and I thank her for bringing this favorite to life. She does need to work on pronunciation of difficult words. Take the time to look them up before releasing the production. Beyond mispronunciations, there was only one blooper that I noticed – a retake that wasn’t edited out. I would definitely give Ms. Grant another listen. Her voice is beautiful and she gives good theater.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
I had a tough time rating this one because I really liked the storyline a lot, but at times the language used felt, at least to me, disproportionately raw/crude/basic. For example, my first impression of Ryan was that he might be a psychopath bad guy since his thoughts about Krista (who he had never even met) were a little extreme.
I listened to the Audible version. Sarah Grant was a new narrator for me. She was good, but there were some editing issues that were distracting from the story. I would listen to another book by her in case the editing issues were a one-time thing.

Craze is the first book I have read by author Anne Conley. The plot was good but I felt as if something was missing because to me the characters didn’t have chemistry. I would like to read more by this author and see how Pierce Securities is affected by the events in this book.
I started this book and couldn’t put it down until the end. Krista was amazing, not thinking twice she steps into the situation and that puts her in danger. The chemistry between Krista and Ryan is hot! I cheering for him to win. You won’t want to miss this one.
Loved It
Krista was working as an accountant at a small investment company. She was looking forward to driving down and seeing her nephew in his basketball game. She was lunching at the playground and talking to her sister on the phone. Ryan was sitting close, he thought she was classy, she thought he was dreamy looking. He works for a security company. When she goes to leave for the night she finds her boss doing bad things to a little boy and it was being filmed. She took the boy to the police. But she didn’t know that would put her into some guys crosshairs. Now she need protection
Steamy and sexy and thrilling..
I really liked this book! From the start I was hooked and wanted to keep on reading. I was intrigued and the suspense kept me interested. The hotness! WOW. The chemistry, there was so much between Classy Lady, Krista, and Eye Candy, Ryan.. I kinda like those pet names, lol.
At times I liked Ryan and other times I didn’t.. I dunno. The cabin was by far my favorite parts of the book, especially when the other people were there with them..
There are some minor details I would have liked a little more on and am hoping some of it will be revealed in future books to read, which a bunch are currently available, if not its not that big of a deal they are after all minor details.
I look forward to reading the next book and seeing what goodness comes from this series.
“Giving in to his baser instincts, he’d lost all control. He wanted a do-over. This time, he was going to taste her. Every fucking inch.”
Wow! My heart was pounding throughout this whole book! Between the chemistry and dynamics of Ryan and Krista and the suspense of the book….I wasn’t sure my heart could take any more! Great book with awesome characters! Can’t wait to read more in this series.
Good book
hate cliffhangers
Good read.
Great
Pretty good introduction to the struggling, brand new Pierce Securities Firm series. It was a little too meandering in the middle, but the bad guys are so bad that it made it easier to root for two not-so-likable main characters.
The book started in a positive way with just the right amount of romantic suspense and thriller. I had to stop when it became to explicit in sexual details and lost the romance.
A realistic situation that’s intriguing along with a steamy romance. Very readable and interesting.
I enjoyed this book but It could have been so much better. The characters seemed to be one-dimensional in that they each have a description and they don’t stray from it, they don’t learn about themselves and grow. The legal portion of the story doesn’t track true either.
**** Written after first read, early 2015****
This was a really fun, fast read. When it first opened and I was reading Krista’s POV on Eye Candy, and then Eye Candy’s POV on Krista, he seemed creepy and I expected it to go in an entirely different direction than it did – meaning I was surprised at what Krista walked into when she stumbled into a mess. I also enjoyed watching Ryan’s character sort of evolve before my eyes.
Another character undergoes a change in demeanor too but no spoilers so I’ll just say I’m impressed and I think Conley is brilliant in creating her characters.
The feelings of the main characters are revealed and it’s predictable only in regards to the romance – the action that ensues is fun and not exactly as I’d expect it to be. I love that Conley doesn’t shy away from any topic or issue – it definitely makes her books feel more real.
I read this in just two sittings, unable to put it down. It was supposed to last me a little longer than it did but I simply couldn’t stop and stayed up all day reading it while I should’ve been sleeping. Whenever I put this book down, I missed it and had to pick it back up.
Cover: Professional, though not original.
Editing/Proofing: Excellent with spelling and grammar—very few errors found. However could use another pass, as there are some continuity issues.
Formatting: Absolutely gorgeous.
4 stars.
Re-read January 2019
Now that I’ve read the entire series and know how everything plays out, and I’m re-reading Crazy, all I can do is marvel at Conley’s brilliance. It all comes together so incredibly well, yet each piece wraps up as a nice, neat standalone. There are some continuity issues that could be addressed, one pretty major, but this doesn’t take away from the reading experience too much. There are still real feels, so much glorious angst and some of the hottest sex scenes I’ve read.
You absolutely must read this series.
