A ranch owner in Texas Hill Country, a horse trainer, and a romance for the ages…Dwayne Carver is set to inherit his family’s ranch in the heart of Texas Hill Country, which would be great if his first love wasn’t raising and training horses. In order to keep up with his ranch duties and fulfill his dreams of owning a horse farm, he hires top trainer Felicity Lightburne.Felicity, wracked with … Lightburne.
Felicity, wracked with grief over the death of her father, can’t stand to stay on her family farm anymore, so she takes the job at Grape Seed Ranch sight unseen. She shows up in her red mustang only to be confronted by three wild bulls who’ve broken free.
When Dwayne intervenes, she’s smitten. It doesn’t matter that he’s her boss, or that she dunked him in the small-town Texas festival the day before, or that he has tremors in his right arm from a military injury. They get along great, and she can envision herself on this new farm–at least until her mother falls ill and she has to return to help her.
Then she realizes that the ranch wife life isn’t one she particularly wants. And it’s all Dwayne has to offer her. Can Dwayne and Felicity work through their differences to find their happily-ever-after?

A sweet romance where the couple have a relationship that does not involve any bedroom activity. They share their experiences, thoughts, and feelings while getting to know one another.
The book is not about a completely smooth sailing relationship. I liked that Dwayne and Felicity each had their own doubts, fears, and insecurities and turned to their faith for guidance.
Although it bothered me a bit when Felicity completely shut Dwayne out, I was glad when she went to him to talk and didn’t continue to wait on his call. He had proven to her what he thought and felt.
I liked the sense of family, and would have enjoyed more interaction between Felicity and her mother since that was a topic of conversation.
I listened to the audio version of this book. The narration was not terrible, but I didn’t care for it. I thought it was very bland. The narrator reading the part of Dwayne and the other men did not come close to making me think of cowboys, men, or anything associated with the male species. She did a great job with the female characters. I just could not get into her renditions of the males in the book. I would prefer to read the book. I would still recommend you try the audio version of you like audio books. This was still a good book.
I voluntarily listened and reviewed the audio book received from the author.
I enjoyed the whole series and do recommend if you like good clean books.
I loved this book. The beginning of a new family and ranch and town. I mean, I read their parent’s novella first, but there’s just something about the interconnectedness of the younger generation getting their romances along a line and featuring in each other’s stories. I really enjoyed this one.
An interesting good clean romance. This engaging storyline included angst, lack of communication, grief, love, and some bumps along a sweet journey to a HEA. The characters are realistic, both their issues to work thru but find love thru patience and Lord’s way. I enjoyed seeing other characters and more of their stories.
Loved It
Felicity needed change after her father passed away. Her brothers were running the ranch she grew up on. Now she was going to be a trainer at the Grape Seed Ranch. But she didn’t know she was going to meet the man she dunked the day before. Dwayne hadn’t been out in the tank in three years, she did in one shot. His hand was shaking, nerve damage can do that. Great Love story.
Loved this sweet story
This was a good book about dealing with grief and having the courage and faith to move forward.
Love Liz Isaacsons books. Started with the Three Rivers Ranch and have read many of the other series. I can never get enough of her writing and love the scripture references. Truly inspirational.
I thoroughly enjoy Liz Isaacson’s books. The characters are believable and the story lines are easy to get hooked into from the first page to the last.
Enjoying this series!!
Love this whole series by Liz and this is no exception. These books are easy to read and have a great story line. I like books in a series and this is a great series.

Craving the Cowboy is book 2 in the Grape Seed Falls series by Liz Isaacson and like her other series it’s filled with faith, hope, passions and finding what life has in store for you.
Dwayne is set to inherit his family’s cattle ranch but his first love is horses and he wants to expand the ranch for this purpose so he hires Felicity who has been apart of her family’s ranch until her father passes away. She can’t seem to recover from the grief so she takes the job Dwayne offers sight unseen. What happens next is totally not what either one expected..so can these two help each other move forward in both their personal, spiritual and emotional lives and find what’s really important or will they hide in plain site and continue living but never reach the ultimate…HEA…
It kept my attention from the beginning to the end. I liked the story & the characters. Death is never easy to deal with. And this story tells some of the conflicts someone goes through when they lose a loved one. Everybody handles it differently. And being rejected like Dwayne was is hard to & causes scars.
A wonderful faith-based Romance with interesting characters easy to read and enjoy. Both characters have their own troubles to overcome as they look for Romance in the future. Liz Isaacson writes a story with full characters and faith-based themes you’re sure to enjoy.
Dwyane’s first encounter with Felicity left him feeling embarrassed and just a little humiliated. However, when she turns up as his ranch the next day as his new employee, he realises that he is going to have to put aside his negative feelings, especially as she evokes feelings in him that he thought were long dead. Felicity made a run for it after her father died, firstly to escape the grief she experienced, and secondly to evade her family’s expectations of her. Dwyane has his own set of issues, but when his heart becomes fully engaged he will do whatever it takes to wait Felicity out until such time as she realises that they can be a true a partnership. This is a sweet, Christian love story that speaks of dealing with sorry and loss. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Now I am sure that not everyone is a major Liz Isaacson fan as I am, but if you happen to be a fan of her novels about ‘Three Rivers Ranch’- you’ll love this book! Wonderful characters, page turner, and inspirational are just a few of the adjectives that I would use to describe this novel by Ms. Isaacson!
“Craving the Cowboy” is the second novel in the Grape Seed Falls series and was beautifully written with an excellent story-line. This novel is based off of the sister Maggie in the “Three Rivers Ranch” series and how she gets married and moves to a new town! I have looked forward to getting to know Dwayne and Felicity, and the love story that has blossomed between the two of them!
This is the second novel in this series so far, but I look forward to the others to come later on in the future!
