Returning to Welcome was easy…staying will be a challenge. Especially when someone is determined to drive her out.Brianna Bowler has returned to her small town of Welcome to help run Bowler’s Dog Rescue. She’s also doing everything she can to set aside thoughts of her high school crush Jake Morrow. Jake appears to be with a perfectly perfect sprite of a woman. (Not that she minds how opposite she … minds how opposite she and the sprite are. Really, she doesn’t.)
Paramedic Jake Morrow has a woman in his house: she cooks, cleans, clings —and irritates the hell out of him. He’d felt sorry for her, injured, alone and broke, and offered to help. Big mistake.
What would really make Jake’s day? His ex-girlfriend finally moving out. But she won’t take his word for it that things are over.
What’s worse is Brianna Bowler has returned to Welcome. Their shared tragic past and attraction burns between them as Jake accepts that things aren’t quite right with his ex. A break-in at the dog rescue, smashed windows, and a stolen laptop all add up to serious trouble for Jake and Brianna.
But with his ex in the wind and escalating, Jake’s protective instincts rise as events take a deadly turn.
With the love of his life in danger, Jake comes to see that some women can’t be set aside, not even for their own good…but others want revenge.

I enjoyed the third book in this series very much. Brianna has returned to Welcome to help her mother. She has some tragic events in her past that cause her to keep her distance from Jake. Jake, in turn, is keeping away from everyone, which basically makes him a prisoner in his house.
These two come together to fight the chains from the past and battle a sick enemy. I enjoyed the hunt for the villain — very twisted mind in this character.
This story had secondary characters that were well-developed and easy to know. It felt very much like a family. I enjoyed these scenes very much.
Jake and Brianna are careful with each other and kind. They work hard not to make the same mistakes and not to hurt each other. Their love is very sweet and giving, and Jake is an absolute hottie!
The author has another in her compelling Return to Welcome series. You’ll love this even if you haven’t read the other 2 books! Great series.
Awesome book awesome writer
A small town romance with a stalker twist.
Briana’s back in Welcome to help her mom, and while she appreciates the support of her friends, old and new (who I strongly suspect have had stories of their own in previous books!) seeing her old crush Jake with his girlfriend is hard. Bonnie Edwards brings together a mature couple with believable problem that pull you right into the story. The addition of family and friends, the animal shelter and a truly scary stalker-although probably not what you’d think – all make this a must read.
Jake had a traumatic experience when in an accident her girlfriend died.
Brianna was pushed to left Welcome by Jake after the accident. Now she is back because of her mother’s surgery.
I did like the story, but I found it a little slow. However, I was unable to stop reading. The characters are well-developed, the book is well-written and it is full of twists and turns, mystery, intrigue, suspense, lovely animals like Beau and very likeable characters. Except for Theda, of course.
I received an advance copy of Craving Jake (Return to Welcome Book 3) in return for my honest opinion.
Craving Jake (Return to Welcome Book 3) drew me in from the beginning. Bonnie Edwards’s skillful writing can take what appeared to be a simple story about a couple facing a second chance at love and turn it into a gripping romantic tale. First, how do the hero and heroine discover their way back to each other? Their journey isn’t easy. Both must overcome threats to their lives, missed opportunities, past ghosts, and doubts to reach their goals. Gradually Ms. Edward builds on the protagonists’ histories and their present growing self-awareness to help them face dangers and rejections to risk expressing their hidden feelings.
Also worth a mention are the secondary characters. They are well-rounded people with trials and affections of their own. These best friends are the kind of supportive allies we all want. They’re aware of each other’s weaknesses yet they cheer on one another and never judge or condemn. I found myself wishing I could join them at their gatherings in Welcome. Don’t miss your opportunity to meet them. Pick up a copy and read Craving Jake. Rating 5 Stars
I read this book as an advanced reader copy and I’m so glad I did. Bonnie Edwards has dipped her fingers in Romantic Suspense and it was a great read.
Love the characters and the setting
I absolutely loved this book!!! The opening pulled me in immediately. I loved how honest Brianna was with her initial feelings seeing Jake with his ex girlfriend, who he can’t get rid of.
This book had so many layers and ‘oh, I didn’t see that coming!’ moments
As the author carefully crafted a wonderful romance. Add elements of suspense, an animal rescue shelter, very well rounded characters, a small town setting, and this book is a winner.
I always enjoy Bonnie Edwards!
