Maggie Kingston is a woman working in a man’s world…and doing a damn good job. Being Steele Ridge’s first female sheriff isn’t easy. Especially when your cousins are magnets for trouble. The Steeles do everything the hard way, but Maggie’s tougher than she looks. Nothing shakes this sheriff until her cousin brings one of his superstar players—and the accompanying media circus—to town. The press … press can’t get enough of the sexy quarterback. And neither can Maggie…
Jayson Tucker devoted his whole career to the New York Knights. So when the team takes a rookie’s side over his after a locker room brawl, he takes refuge from the spotlight. Except reporters aren’t the only ones after him. Someone wants Jayson benched. Permanently. When the threat becomes deadly, hiding won’t be enough. And in Steele Ridge, security comes in the luscious form of its gorgeous, no-nonsense sheriff.
Jayson’s always fought his own battles. The closer he gets to Maggie, the less he’s willing to risk her being caught in the crossfire. Yet Maggie is no damsel in distress. She’s more than capable of keeping her town—and her man—safe. But can she say the same about her heart?

Craving Heat by Adrienne Giordano is a spectacular small-town romance. Ms. Giordano has delivered a well-written book populated with a phenomenal cast of characters. Maggie is the sheriff of Steele Ridge and is brought in to help protect Jayson when he’s cut from his team. Jayson doesn’t see the need for more protection. Maggie and Jayson’s story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed every page of this book and look forward to reading more from Adrienne Giordano soon. Craving Heat is book 1 of the Steel Ridge: The Kingstons Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
Engaging characters and a fun supporting cast make this an entertaining must-read.
THIS BOOK KEEP MY INTEREST BUT A BIT MORE SEX THAN I PREFER IN THE STORY LINE.
I love love this entire series of books. Great
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This was a great start to the series about Maggie from a small town and Jayson a quarterback living in the big city. The struggles Jayson and his sister, Sam deal with and how coming to the small town to stay safe. I cannot wait to get my hands on this series and it is a standalone read.
One of my better reads
I have read several of the books about the town of Steel Ridge. This one is pretty entertaining. Good interactions between characters that are fleshed out. I like a romance mixed in with other stuff and is not just about conquest. Keep reading these!
Great book. Highly entertaining, with wonderful, realistic main characters. So good to read a story with a strong female character who is not a simpering idiot!
DNF
I got to maybe 54% before I gave up. It is very boring and droned on forever. Not to mention that I felt the author was trying to put three different stories in one. Whatever lust or love connection the author was trying to concoct I was just not feeling it. Needs editing!! I rolled my eyes several times because this story annoyed me to no end.
Great plot. Complete story
Loved It
Maggie is the sheriff in Steele Ridge where all of her family pretty much live. Grif is the city manager and Jayson’s agent. But Jay is having prior and his team is letting him go. But there is so much more, it was great.
Touch Down!! I LOVED Maggie and Jayson’s story!! Great suspense, intrigue and sexy times abound in this love story. Maggie is a strong, independent woman who manages in a male dominated profession and Jayson, a sexy football player who has a problem with trusting due to situations from his past, need to work together to figure out who is trying to get rid of Jayson permanently. I also loved Sam and would love to know more about her and see if she gets her HEA eventually.
Another great book, in a string of great books taking place in Steele Ridge, NC. Mags and Jayson are an awesome couple and I loved reading their story.
Liked the people
Good book. Getting rest in series next few days. Now if I can just not read them all at once …
Sex scenes too graphic
I felt the foul language took away from what could have been an entertaining story.
Great characters…..can’t wait to read more of the saga.
Craving Heat is the first book in the new The Kingstons series, a spinoff of the Steele Ridge series that I loved in 2017! If you read the Steele Ridge series yet, you’ll get to see many of the original characters make an appearance in this book. That’s always a plus for me! If you haven’t read the original series, don’t fret. This book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.
I am a fan of both sports romance and romantic suspense, so this book checked lots of boxes for me as a reader! I’ve been anxious to see who Maggie, our favorite small town sheriff with a big personality, would be paired up with in this book. Enter Jay, a seasoned quarterback needing to lie low while his drama gets sorted. Even better, Jay’s the good guy that treats other with respect and is extremely supportive of Maggie. Let me just say, his actions on the obstacle course absolutely won me over in the romance department! The romance is slow-burn as Maggie and Jay try to uncover who is behind all of the drama that is impacting Jay’s (and his sister’s) career. I really enjoyed the way the couple addressed their individual issues and played to each other’s strengths. Even better was that they didn’t try to “fix” one another. I read this book weeks ago, twice in fact, and I’m still swoony over Jay and Maggie! The Kingstons come across as another family that will be lots of fun to get to know and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!
