SandraBefore THAT night, the over the top party and the cake incident, I spent Saturday nights with girlfriends, lamenting my life over margaritas.I wasn’t ready for Jacob Clark. He was sin and dark edges, wrapped in regret. He was my Kryptonite. His words oozed over me like warm honey. His dark eyes pricked my soul, and his touch….those fingers set my skin on fire. Of course he was too good to … he was too good to be true. And before I could wipe the icing off my greedy lips, I was walking away.
So, why was he invading her dreams?
Jacob
She was the remedy to everything. Until my family, my past, provoked me.
I made one little scene, and Sandra walked away without a word, despite our mind-blowing connection.
When I finally barged in on her life again, she told me she didn’t want me. I told her in her pretty face she did. She more than wanted me.
Remember the ache? When I’m with her, it goes away.
If she wants a chase, I’ll give her one.
Who knows? When I catch her, I might never let go.

Crave (Clark Family Series) by Evelyn Sola. I loved this book. Its sexy, funny, heartwarming, everything a good romance should be. Its the story of Sandy who is a pediatric nurse living her best life. She goes out with her friends, loves her job and thinks life is much better without the drama of a man. That’s the perfect plan until she meets JD(Jacob) delivering a cake for her mom. Jacob has a huge chip on his shoulder because he was betrayed by his girlfriend and brother. He has made up his mind that women are off limits. They are nothing more than drama and heartache. Trouble seems to follow Jacob and his plan to only have one night stands from now on dissolves when he sees Sandy. He has to have her. While at the party Jacob attacks his own brother over another woman and Sandy is disgusted. She knows Jacob is not what she needs but he is determined and their chemistry is off the charts. Will Jacob finally break down Sandy’s wall and get inside her heart? Read Crave to find out!
Sandy is living the life. Working as a pediatric nurse at a local pediatricians office, going out with her girlfriends every Saturday night, and being free of man drama. That all changes when her mother has her deliver a birthday cake for one of her best clients. Lillian Clark talks her into sticking around her birthday celebration to meet her “son” JD. The last thing in Sandy’s mind was meeting a gorgeous man that had the potential to turn her life upside down.
Jacob is a man who has a big chip on his shoulder. Not only was he betrayed by his best friend, but his very own brother. When he catches his brother with his girlfriend, a woman he thought he loved, he can neither forget what he saw nor forgive them. When he is introduced to Sandy at his mother’s birthday celebration he knew he had to get to know her. There was something about her that made him want to give up the one night stands he had occasionally. After he causes a fight with his brother to break out, that was strike one in Sandy’s book. He will do whatever it takes to make sure she is a part of his life. Will he be able to keep himself from messing up what could be a good thing? Will Sandy be willing to listen and give him another chance?
I have had the chance to check out a holiday novel by Evelyn Sola a few months ago, and I enjoyed it. I knew this might be a bit different but holy cow the angst was real and the drama in this book was not only thick and entertaining it was full of a meaningful topic both to myself personally and the rest of the world right now. I loved how this interracial couple faced the obstacles and tribulations head on together. It was blatant this is a topic close to Sola’s heart because she never once shied away from the things to sugar coat and make it an easy read. I was gripped from page one and could not put this book down until I knew how it ended. The Clark family along with Jacob and Sandy will draw you in and hold you captive as you cheer for them to find their happily ever after. I cannot wait to dive into the next book in the Clark Family Series.
This is my first book from this author, and I fell in love. This story had every emotion, family drama, and love. It was an easy book to go though in a couple days, and I’m ready for the next one! Good job!
Delightfully entertaining rom-com and first read
—>>> Many things are going in this story and you hit the ground running at the birthday celebration of the Clark matriarch, where Sandra and Jacob Clark serendipitously clap eyes on each other, their chemistry literally sizzling. Somehow that was not enough to offset being left on the dance floor before Jacob attacks his brother in a fit of rage…over another woman! Clearly, there was a huge rift in the family, but Sandra was exactly what he needed. Jacob’s new mission was to insert himself in her well-defined life, now that he has finally awoken from his life’s quagmire and realizes what he could have. It will not be an easy ride for this “troublemaker” of a man who brings tumult to Sandra’s life, but he does also bring a lot of passion, wanting to commit to this gorgeous woman whom he still has to prove himself to over and over because he doesn’t know any other way than to go “full Jacob.” This is the first installment of the chaotic Clark family drama, and I look forward to reading more about these chaotic Clarks!
This was a delightfully entertaining rom-com and first read from this author.
This is only my second Evelyn Sola novel but damn she is good! Then add Troy Duran & Mari to the narration & SWOON!
Jacob and Sandra’s story was pure chaos, drama, and HEAT!! Jacob kept making it hard for me to love him because he kept making one boneheaded decision after the next. When he finally decided to start letting go of his past so that he could look forward to his future is when things really started to get all swoony and sweet. Sandy was everything I love in an FMC. She was vulnerable but she never left Jacob or anyone for that matter walk all over here. She was confident in who she was and the things she stood for. When Jacob was being a tool, she told him without hesitancy and that just made fall harder for her.
The narration was where this story was at though because as I’ve said Troy Duran & Mari. After my first narration by them I added every single one of their titles to my TBR because their voices together just do it for me. Mari is just sweet and wonderful but Troy Duran y’all! If you don’t know him by now then just do yourself a favor and listen to his growls, you will thank me!!
Keeping this review kind of short because if I go into too much detail, I won’t stop gushing about this book. Do yourself the favor and read an Evelyn Sola novel, then listen to Troy Duran & Mari. Make your life simpler and do both though!!
As if I need to say it but 5 you love me stars!!
Phew…that’s some serious family drama wrapped up in some serious sexy!
Jacob and Troy are brothers who can’t be in the same room without verbal and even physical assaults due to a deep betrayal. Sandra is just trying to deliver a cake for her mom’s bakery before a girls’ night out. But one look between Jacob and Sandra and there’s an instant connection…except there’s also that family drama.
I really liked that Jacob immediately knew Sandra was for him and was willing to fight his demons for her. I also liked that Sandra was willing to put her hard limits out there but also listen to what Jacob had to say. The family drama was a lot and I honestly still don’t know how I feel about it all but I was glad that such a loving family was able to start to heal.
I definitely think I’ll be checking out the rest of the series.
I listened to the audio of this one and enjoyed the dual narration, especially that Troy Duran’s voice totally matched the description of Jacob’s!

STORY:
This was a good book and messy messy messy. It was drama filled, funny and steamy. With the drama in this book, I don’t know who has more drama, a telenovela or the Clark family. The beginning of the story, I will say this, it was annoying waiting on Jake to get it together *massive eye rolls*. I also didn’t like in the beginning the author needing to keep iterating the different tone complexion between Sandy and her sister. Last, for someone who isn’t a main character, I was tired of hearing Tracey’s name. Apart from that, I love getting to know the Clark family and even Sandy’s family. By the end of the book you felt like you were family and you are waiting for the next invite.
I have to note, listening to the audio, the birthday scene at the restaurant, it was Jake’s POV and hearing the narrator doing the drunken ladies had me on the floor.
CHEMISTRY:
Jake and Sandy’s sexual chemistry was very appealing and good. Once Jake got his mess sorted out he became even sexier to me.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS
This book was exploding with characters. They all played their positions and gave me a show. I even loved the parents of both Jake and Sandy. I only got tired of hearing about Tracey, understandably, she plays an important role, but still.
Overall, satisfying read, good story, good characters and great sexual chemistry.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.
Interesting storyline and was a slow reader for me, but held my attention. The ending definitely had me laughing out loud and looking forward to reading the next installment.
A new to me author, I can’t wait to read more of her books.
I really enjoyed this but there were a lot of things that were really bothersome. I felt like Jake was very domineering but he does get better as the book goes on. Sandy started out as a badass woman who didn’t need a man, but becomes more insecure as the book went on. I did enjoy the whole family drama aspect of the book and I would definitely read the about the other brothers of the Clark family!
Crave
An Instant Attraction Romantic Comedy
Clark family series
By Evelyn Sola
This is a story of two people that have been hurt in the past and have a hard time trusting their feelings. The thing I like about this book is the humor. It is not often that a love story makes us laugh. It felt good. I recommend this book. In our current times laughter is always welcome.

Crave (Clark Family Series) by Evelyn Sola
Crave is the first book in the Clark Family series by Evelyn Sola. I absolutely loved this book and the drama it brought with it. I pretty much devoured this book in one day only because once I dove in I had to know how everything was going to play out. This isn’t my first read by this author and definitely not my last. This is Jacob and Sandra’s story. The moment these two meet the chemistry is ridiculous between but because of past issues and betrayal from his brother and sil theres trouble before they even really get a chance to get started. Can they have a future together? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read the next one in this series.

Crave : An Instant Attraction Romantic Comedy (Clark Family Series) by Evelyn Sola
This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Sola. Crave is a great book and I can’t wait for more. She has a certain way of writing her stories that make you fall in love.
Sandy is filling in for her cousin at her mom’s bakery when she has to deliver something last minute. When she gets there she’s invited to stay. Family conflict happens and it leaves Sandy confused. The quote I chose for Sandy is: “Oh, please. I did not promise, and if he wanted a date with me, he wouldn’t have left me standing in the middle of the dance floor.”
Jake shows up to his mom’s birthday party only to meet the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen. He follows her around trying to get her attention after she blows him off. Will he get the chance to explain before it’s too late? The quote I chose for Jake is: “Are you saying you’ve never been in love before, Sandy?”
Highly recommended for contemporary romance lovers.
Crave by Evelyn Sola (the first book in the Clark Family Series) was a great read! The cover is what initially drew me in, and once I started reading I couldn’t put this book down! Full of drama, steamy romance, and some slight mystery (at least at the beginning) this was a very entertaining ride and read from beginning to end. This book had me laughing and crying. It was so beautiful and the attraction between Jake and Sandra cannot be denied. I was absolutely enthralled with this book. I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series!
“Crave” is a soap opera in book form. The romance is strong and sexy, the families are strong and crazy, and the characters are strong and stubborn. This book was one of my favorite romance novels by far. It was funny, addicting, and filled with hot, lusty love scenes. The fact that the relationship was one that deals with race and different backgrounds is a wonderful touch to this book. The family’s interactions with each other and the main characters were priceless. The different relationships happening between families makes this book relatable to everyone. I loved this book and I recommend it to anyone who loves drama. In this book, all are welcome, and there’s something in it for everybody.
Love Love Loved it!!! This was such a good story from start to finish, i was sucked in. Each character had their own story as well as the 2 main characters. I fell in love with Jake, I mean how could you not he is charming, funny and loves to bicker. The book as a whole is full of banter, drama and betrayal.
This was my first book by Evelyn Sola. In this book our main characters are Sandy and Jake. Sandy is a nurse and doesn’t need any one to swoop in and “save” her, she takes care of herself just fine. Jake Clark is from “old money” and a family owned business that’s been around awhile. This tale is a love story and how different people and different situations can either help or hurt your relationship.
This is the story of Jacob Clark and Sandra Etienne, they have a past, but she doesn’t want a future after the incident at the party where she walked away, but Jacob has other ideas and is determined to win her back.
The story starts with Jacob, ridding himself of an alcohol fueled one night stand, while not leaving a good impression while he does it, finally, he feeds and walks his dogs before washing the night away in the shower and while watering his plants, he fields a call from his best friend to find out what happened and why he brought someone home. He asks his friend whether he is going to be at Jacob’s mums birthday later on that day and unfortunately, he can’t because he is working, he doesn’t have the time, but he reminds Jacob not to act like an ass while he is there.
It is saturday and as usual Sandra is helping her mum out at her bakery because her cousin hasn’t turned up again, but she is annoyed because it means that she will be late for her monthly girl’s night with her best friends, so as she is getting ready, she asks her mum what she needs doing. It turns out that it is a delivery to one of her mum’s biggest clients, a well to do family who she caters for both their private and public events, so as she heads over in the van and when she gets there she meets the lady of the house and is enveloped in a welcoming embrace and is invited to stay for the party in order to meet her son’s doctor friend, but they are distracted when a male voices comes up to them and it is one of her sons, Jacob. As she turns round to meet him, she realises that the body and face are definitely as sexy as his voice and she can’t pull her gaze away from him, even when his mum is still talking about fixing her up with his friend until she leaves them to go and finish getting ready for her party. As they survey each other and flirt like there is nobody else there, they walk over to the bar and continue the banter until his dad appears and breaks the moment by enveloping him in a bear hug and asking Sandra to keep him out of trouble after a conversation which Jacob doesn’t appear to enjoy.
As Sandra and Jacob tour his house and look at family photo’s and the destinations in them, Sandra keeps going back to the fact that they are from completely different sides of the tracks, but nonetheless, they continue to flirt and things start to get heated. As more people arrive for the party, Sandra is introduced to more family and friends and everything seems to be going well until two of Jacob’s brothers arrive and the atmosphere turns cool. The family dynamics start to show through and Sandra can see that something has happened between them, the brothers can’t stand to be around each other, even though one is trying to be friendly and their parents are trying to keep the situation under control. When Jacob drags her away from the scene, they go to the kitchen until it is time to eat where she is invited to dine with them, where the two talk about her family and job, but when Jacob’s brother’s wife turns up, the atmosphere becomes downright icy. As they finish eating, Jacob invites Sandra to dance and they do, until Sandra sees that Tracy is pregnant and asks Jacob when she is due, this turns out to be a dreadful mistake and Jacob flies over in a rage and has a verbal altercation with his brother, at this point Sandra can’t take her eyes of the argument, but when the punches fly, Sandra escapes and decides that she doesn’t need Jacobs kind of trouble in her life, but when Jacob turns up to the bakery the Saturday after and asks for the date she agreed to, she has to make a decision.
Will Sandra and Jacob be together, or will his past troubles bleed into his current relationship? Can they overcome their barriers and let the other in, or will the walls be too high to climb?
This is a romance with more than just the usual barriers, but the characters keep you invested and wanting more.
Crave: An Instant Attraction Romantic Comedy (Clark Family Series) by Evelyn Sola is a book full of romance and humor. The romance is intense while the comedy can’t be help but put a smile on your face.
Sandra and Jake meet unexpectedly at a party. The drama she promised herself never to get involved in chooses to walk away hoping never to see him again. Jake up for chase will chase her down to the end of the earth to make her his. He has a hard past but that won’t stop him from getting what he wants. Sandra wants him but won’t admit it
This is the first book in the series and there are two more. I can’t wait to read them. I couldn’t get enough of the romance and passion. When I first started the book it took me by surprise I didn’t want to put it down.
This is the first book in the Clark Family Series. While the book centers around the live story of Jake and Sandy, you are introduced to the whole family dinamic. They have gone through some trials over the years, but as Jake and Sandy’s love story grows, the family begins to heal. This story will definitely make you laugh and maybe even shed a few tears. As always, Evelyn wrote an other amazing story and I can’t wait to read more in this series.
