Hadley Jacobs is over Machlan Gibson. Sure, she’ll always be a little weak to the dimple in his right cheek and the way his five o’clock shadow makes him ruggedly handsome. But that’s not enough to cover every other thing about him because they all drive her nuts. Like how he won’t admit he’s wrong even when he knows it and how he drives his stupid car a million miles an hour on wet asphalt. As … asphalt. As she rolls back into town and takes a seat at Crave, she won’t take the bait. She’s over him. Mostly.
Machlan isn’t over her.
It’s not because he hasn’t tried. He reminds himself over and over that she’s not the girl for him. After all, she drives him insane with her sassy attitude and the way she calls him out on everything. She beats him at poker, even though she doesn’t know the difference between a straight and a flush, and when she looks at him with her bright, blue eyes, it’s unnerving. When she climbs onto that bar stool and orders a drink, he puts it in front of her and ignores the sparkle in her eyes. He’s not over her, but she won’t know that.
But she does know that. And he knows she’s not as over him as she’s pretending to be. When life forces their hand this time, there’s more on the line than a pile of poker chips. It’s their forever.

This is a beautiful second, third, fourth chance love story! This book is about family, friends and love- a love that isn’t perfect, full of heartache, pain, imperfections but beautiful and eternal!! Nothing better than reading Adriana Locke’s words to make you want to be the best person you can be.
Machlan and Hadley have been together on and off since they were teens. Both broken from their history. Hadley comes back to Linton to get closure and get over Machlan.
This book has it all- all the Gibson boys, Nana- she’s magnificent, the Landry’s, Cross!!! It’s full of family banter, Nana’s cooking and yelling about bad behavior and this incredibly beautiful story about how Machlan is the way he is and why Hadley loves him so much. How she sees him even in the bad times. This book is everything!
Can’t wait for Peck and whatever else Adriana Locke wants to give us. It’s a spectacular journey!!!
WOW!! I know I sound like a record on repeat but honestly you can never go wrong with any book from Adriana Locke. She draws deep down to bring her characters to life in such a way that you can’t help falling in love with them. From the start her books pull in, experiencing their journey through the ups and downs. I love that she writes each on as a stand alone, but always has surprise appearances from her characters.
Crave is amazing and brilliant. Crave is a second chance love between Machlan and Hadley. They have been so much with each other, that the past dictates their future. Only if they can learn to “let it be”, go with the flow, will they have a chance to be something great together. Crave is one of top reads so far this year.
I knew the writing of Adriana Locke this year, and since then, Crave is the third book I read from her. And a book I was absolutely anxious to lay my hands on and devour the story of Machlan and Hadley because I could feel that something fantastic would come with these two.And I was right because I absolutely loved this book.
Crave is a wonderful novel of second chances that I can not say enough about is my favorite type of story. But especially here I loved every minute of that book.Once I started reading this story I could not stop. This book had fun moments, romance and thrills packed into a beautiful story of second chances completely well written.
And what about Machlan and Hadley? These two are absolutely perfect for each other and the love one felt for the other was present there at all times. It was impossible not to fall in love with these two and hope that love would win. Hadley will certainly be on my list of favorite heroines. She is strong, passionate, brave and I loved her.Machlan is also great, but I think years ago a character did not get me as frustrated as he. There were times when I wanted to get into the book to yell at him, but at the same time I wanted to hug him because I could understand where his fear came from. But when he wanted or let his love for Hadley speak louder he could be just perfect with his care, care, concern and love for Hadley.
The secondary characters here were great and it was nice to review some, but I think the one who stole the attention was Peck and I think I finally understood why everyone loves him. It’s kinda impossible not to do. I liked to review all of them but Nana and Peck are perfect and bring the humor to the story making it impossible not to love them.
Sweet, sexy, fun and emotional Crave is a fantastic second chance story that contains all the elements I look for in such a story. A 5 star read which I highly recommend
Machlan, broody, wonderful Machlan had to be my favorite of the Gibson boys from his very first appearance (Peck excluded, because he’s a whole different league for a plethora of reasons) and with CRAVE, we finally get his story! And what a story it is: a beautiful and addictive second chance romance.
Hadley and Machlan met when they were just teens and grow up together. They fall in love, a wonderful young yet naïve love that shatters in the face of tragedy. Now, Hadley is back – on a mission to finally put Machlan behind her … and reclaim the piece of her heart he still possesses, even after all those years.
Machlan cannot get over the hurt of their past, believing he is nothing more than a painful reminder for Hadley of everything that happened, totally undeserving of her love. But once he learns the true reason Hadley is back in town, things get explosive, as something changes in him to see things from a different perspective … but is it too late?
Until now, Machlan has been quite a mystery – angry, moody and unable to forget the one girl from his past. And now that she’s back in town, you keep wondering why he keeps her at arm’s length.
Hadley is his total opposite – fiery and courageous and willing to fight for what feels right, no matter how many times she gets turned down.
Seeing their story unfold evoked all the feels and angst and heartbreak in me I didn’t expect. It’s heartbreakingly beautiful and seriously frustrating at times, always brimming with sexual tension and intense chemistry ready to explode. A story so much worth the wait.
…and now I’m giddy and impatient and excited that Peck is finally up next 🙂
I am a sucker for a second chance romance, brothers best freind we get them both. This isn’t a quick happy ever after, Machlan and Hadley have history, serious baggage that they need to work out. I am reading and it feels like a tennis match . I don’t know who’s side I am on! Back and forth and each side had such VALID points ,reasons. This is all coming to a breaking point and HOLY XXXX !
This was something I was not expecting but it made it so much deeper, so much more .NO SPOILERS You need to just read and enjoy all that is the Gibson family. We have cameos from all the boys ,even some Landry’s. Add in some name Dropping a favorite Fighter and I’m smiling. There were moments I was cursing my kindle however that is why I LOVED THIS SO MUCH! This was an Intense emotional story of love and acceptance, the past for some will always be a reminder you need to embrace.I am looking forward to Pecks book of course. What a ride! Must read!
I have absolutely fallen in love with the Gibson brothers, each one pulls me further in. Though most of Crave I yelled at Machlan, I’m sure he heard me because I was extremely loud. Ha!
Machlan is one of those characters that drive you crazy. He’s hot, oh yeah extremely hot. Sexy and yes folks he’s sweet. So why did I spend most of this wonderful book screaming at him? Simple…. he’s chicken. The love of his life is standing right in front on him, he loves her but he constantly pushes her away.
Hadley has loved Machlan forever. He’s her brothers best friend, her first love and he’s always been there for her. They have been on and off for years. They hold some very special and though memories but this time she’s come back to make herself forget him.
Totally loved this book. The characters are loveable and the writing is phenomenal. You gotta check it out.

I’m in love with this book! I waited for it. Then I was afraid to start, because it couldn’t possibly live up to my expectations. At the same time… Locke’s stories usually take me somewhere else than expected. This one sure did. It is so beautiful and tragic and romantic in a angsty second chance kinda way. What a journey we as readers get to og on with Machlan and Hadley! It’s an emotional rollercoaster and the author skillfully peels back the layers and guides us through as we get to know Hadley and Machlan’s story and see how they grow and move to a better future. Book. Hangover.
Machlan and Hadley at times really frustrated me, but it was worth it and in the end when you learn everything that’s gone on between them it makes total sense why they are the way they are. I also think that it shows how good the book is if I get frustrated along with the characters. Machlan frustrates the heck out of me, but he for sure as shit frustrated the hell out of Hadley! There was one line, “Drive Carefully.” That had me wanting to scream and throat punch Machlan, but boy did he make up for it! He is a frustratingly, broody, super alpha man and also sweet and so loving!! It’s impossible not to fall for him. Hadley is awesome. She was perfect for Machlan and could really stand her own with him. Lance is still my fav Gibson boy, but Machlan was a close second. I also loved seeing the rest of the boys & Nana! Oh and of course I am looking forward to Peck’s book (say no to Molly)
“You can’t help who you love. But you can help how much you let them hurt you.”
Brimming with beautiful and addictive angst, Crave by Adriana Locke gives us a sexy and emotional small town romance that is simply…unputdownable. Hadley and Machlan lit the pages on fire with their push and pull, scorching hot chemistry and banter. Hadley is switching it up and coming back into town to once and for all fall OUT of love with Machlan Gibson. She craves for her heart to be open to another, but it hasn’t been possible because the boy she fell in love with so long ago, takes up every inch. Machlan believes he is just a reminder of all of the pain and sorrow he has caused Hadley in the past and he can’t get it through his head that her love for him is real. He feels as if he doesn’t deserve that kind of gift from her. But the minute she tells him the reason she’s back in town, something shifts and his heart craves to change her mind, but his mind knows better than to wish for a happily ever after, especially with such tragedy between them.
Oh, all of the FEELS with this one! I thought my heart was ready for it, but it didn’t stand a chance. I should know better with Ms. Locke behind the pages. I fell quick. I fell hard. I absolutely LOVED this romance! I was surprised at the heart wrenching turn this took, but it made the journey to the happily ever after that much greater. It was frustrating but real. It was sexy and quick witted. It was beautiful and passionate. I couldn’t have asked for a better story for these two incredible and memorable characters.
Adriana Locke’s work is always on point. She writes in a way that captures your attention. She knows how grip your mind. Whenever I have read a book by her, I was wowed by her brilliance. She knows how to write beautiful, wholesome, entertaining love stories. Most importantly it’s realistic.
Crave is about Machlan who I always adored. I wanted to know his story from the very first book.
Cross’s sister who we knew was his love interest. We also gathered that their love story was gonna be epic and it 100% was. Machlan and Hadley’s love story is Heartbreaking and Beautiful. What these two have been through I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. Really I was sobbing like a baby for their broken past.
Had is such a sassy, kindhearted lady. She in my eyes is the strongest person I know. She had to grow fast at s young age… I just adored her…
Mach and her chemistry and Love is pure and powerful.
Had’s determination to win Mach was testament that all Good things come to those who have patience.
Their story is magical, Naughty Hot and incredibly enduring. It’s a once in a lifetime kinda love.
This book is an absolute must read.
I love, love, loved Hadley and Machlan’s story! Hadley and Machlan have a past, one that broke them apart. Now Hadley is back in town to face her demons and move on with her life. Machlan never got over Hadley, and even though he can’t be with her, he doesn’t want anyone else to be with her either. Can Hadley and Machlan get passed their past and finally find their happy ever after, or are they destined to be apart forever.
Adriana Locke has written a love story packed with angst and emotion. It’s a story of love, loss, pain, and forgiveness. It’s now become one of my favorite books by her. You will laugh often, cry at times, and fall in love with Hadley and Machlan’s story.
Another beautiful book from Adriana Locke and definitely one of my favorites.
He loves her, she loves him, but both have their own reasons for not hoping for future together, but they can’t let go of all the feelings either. Oh yes this is surely has complicated written all over it. This book is like a rollercoaster of emotions. Full of angst, frustrations, laughters, love, sweetness and tears. The story so captivating and the mystery of what had happened in the past got me can’t put it down and the camaraderie of Gibson brothers is sooooooo superb and really warms my heart so I can’t stop reading it. This book left me with a big smile on my face and got me craving more.
If you love second chance romance packed with emotions, this one is a MUST-READ for you.
*I voluntarily received a review copy of this book
Crave took over my life it captivated me and I couldn’t put it down, The Gibson Boys are one of my favourite series and I was excited for Machlan’s story and it did not disappoint it was everything I expected and more. This book has it all it will make you laugh and it will make you cry but the mix of humour and angst is perfect and this is certainly a second chance romance you won’t want to miss.
Mach and Hadley have become my favourite couple so far and I think that’s because this story gave me all the feels I want from a book, it was a bit more emotional and a bit more raw than the previous books and I loved it. Perfect witty banter between the characters left me giggling and smiling like a Cheshire Cat and what can I say about the sizzling chemistry it’s HOT!!!!!! Now I can’t wait to see where this author will take us with Pecks story……
Hadley wants to finally get Machlan out of her system once and for all. So back home she heads. So what if she has to go to Crave, the bar he owns, to see him. So what if a bar is the last place she wants to be?
But of course, things don’t quite work out as she plans, because of course not. Of course their emotional ties are too complicated for her to simply be done with him. But can these two truly move past their tangled history and just be friends? Do they have it in themselves to just finally accept they cannot be together? Or is the love they both feel too strong to be ignored?
Agh!!! Crave was a tugger of my heart strings. It was so obvious they have a painful history. A history that was SLOWLY revealed. And as each bit was revealed, I hurt more for them. There were times I wanted to perhaps shake each of them, though, because their back and forth was a bit, um whiplash-y, and it hurt my head (and my heart). It was painful to see them be so indecisive with each other, to see them hurting each other.
If you’ve been reading this series, you’ll already know Mach and Hadley, and probably love (or not) them, but here in their own story, I full on fell for them, and I think you will, too. Their journey is so fraught with pain and angst, so freakin’ emotional, but it’s beautiful at the end of the day. Thank you, Adriana, for giving Had and Mach their own beautiful, though painful, story. Can’t wait for Peck’s story next! He’s been the most interesting, intriguing character throughout this series and I’m so glad we’re going to be able to read his story next.
Crave is the perfect name for this amazing book! While I wasn’t reading, it was all I could think about!! I LOVED this story. Machlan and Hadley have quite a lot of baggage to work through. True to the authors style, I road the wonderfully emotional roller coaster and loved every minute of it. Just the book pick-me -up I needed!
Sweet, emotional, second-chance romance.
Like the series, but Hadley and Machlan’s story in Crave wasn’t my favorite. Machlan is rather infuriating, and the vibe is too angsty overall for my taste. There’s so much build-up and back-and-forth but not enough story after the denouement, and I was left wanting more.
Love characters from the previous books making appearances, and want more Nana and Peck! I really hope things work out for him when his book comes along.
2.5-3 stars
And Crave I did!
This book is a standalone that is also part of The Gibson Boys series. After reading about the HEA of Walker and Sienna, Lance and Mariah and Cross and Kallie, we finally understand the love of Machlan and Hadley.
I already said this a looot of times on my reviews, and I say it again: I love family series! I love their banter, their inside jokes, their loyalty and all they share together, either is happiness or sorrow, hope or fear.
And I love the families this author writes. And I also love when we see some old characters from other worlds that we love so much, even if we see them just a little bit (yes, we see “people” in this book!).
Second chances are always powerful to read. They are angsty and touching in so many levels. And in this book, it wasn’t different.
Had and Mach had been together and apart a lot. Really a lot. And we really don’t understand all the whys until they tell us about their past. It was so powerful and raw, so beautiful to read.
And I must confess, I didn’t exactly relate to Mach, but I understood him and his actions a lot better after I saw what they went through.
Don’t get me wrong, I love him. He is loyal, sweet, so caring with his Nana (which I super love). But his hot and cold demeanor toward Had picked me on my nerves. She was fighting for them, hurting herself in the process trying to save the love they have that is so beautiful. And even though I understand Mac’s pain and how he thought he was helping her and giving her an out, I was mad that he made take the “out way”, but didn’t want anyone going with her.
But as I said, once you understand their past and their choices, things make much more sense.
And I don’t remember reading a book where the main characters had gont through what they have. It was sensitive in a way I could never realize by myself.
In fact, the tittle is so accurate, because we could see so many cravings, for so many things, for so many people. And all the cravings revolved around the same thing: love!
This book was beautiful, and the way they built their lives, all of their lives, was envigorating.
And to final: I’ve loved, I love and I’ll love everything this author writes (oh, my, how I miss Max), but I can’t wait for Peck!!
I love Machlan and Hadley. I say this every time I read a new Adriana book but they might be my new favorite couple. I cried so much in this book, thank god for Peck. This book is beautifully written. They way Adriana writes makes you feel like you are there and living in their world and going through their struggles and triumphs. Amazing book!
These two quotes sum up their love.
“I love you more, Hadley. Not more than you love me, but more than all our fights and disagreements. I love you more than the bad days and the bullshit we’ll have to go through in life. Because if I have to go through it, I don’t want to do it without you.”
“things like this, like what’s sitting around this table, don’t happen overnight. You can’t force them to happen. You can’t make them not happen. You just have to water them with love and give them room to breathe and enough support to anchor the roots into the foundation of something good.
