Hadley Jacobs is over Machlan Gibson. Sure, she’ll always be a little weak to the dimple in his right cheek and the way his five o’clock shadow makes him ruggedly handsome. But that’s not enough to cover every other thing about him because they all drive her nuts. Like how he won’t admit he’s wrong even when he knows it and how he drives his stupid car a million miles an hour on wet asphalt. As … asphalt. As she rolls back into town and takes a seat at Crave, she won’t take the bait. She’s over him. Mostly.
Machlan isn’t over her.
It’s not because he hasn’t tried. He reminds himself over and over that she’s not the girl for him. After all, she drives him insane with her sassy attitude and the way she calls him out on everything. She beats him at poker, even though she doesn’t know the difference between a straight and a flush, and when she looks at him with her bright, blue eyes, it’s unnerving. When she climbs onto that bar stool and orders a drink, he puts it in front of her and ignores the sparkle in her eyes. He’s not over her, but she won’t know that.
But she does know that. And he knows she’s not as over him as she’s pretending to be. When life forces their hand this time, there’s more on the line than a pile of poker chips. It’s their forever.

Machlan Gibson just might be the most infuriating man EVER! He is the perfect combination of sexy and sweet with a touch of a-hole mixed in. The way he loves Hadley is so intense. However, he gets in his own way when it comes to loving her. Hadley has the most beautiful soul! We’ve all had that one person we can’t shake and Machlan Gibson is her person. However, she is determined it is time to figure out how to move on with her life without him in it. The problem is their connection runs bone deep, so moving on from one another is not as easy as it seems.
The Gibson family is one I would love to be a part of! I love the way they all have each other’s backs, but yet step in when they know someone needs to face the hard truth. They are so real and genuine!
There comes a time when you read certain romances that pull your heart strings. Some romances make you swoon. Some romances have stories to inspire. Some romances bring emotions that can either wreck you or charm you. Some romances bring happiness and joy. Some romances make your reading experience exciting. I felt that with Crave. With my whole heart. With my whole soul. Crave is a beautiful story by new to me author Adriana Locke. It introduces me to an author who writes a story that bleeds with power in writing and emotions bubbling to the surface. I fell hard for Crave. I craved Crave. The emotionally charged storyline. The wonderful characters. Crave is a fantastically written book with a heart ripping and sexy to story to captivate you.
I am a sucker for angsty books. You may find this odd but I love to have my feelings twisted and turned. I love to have a book mess me up emotionally. I love a book to torture me with some hard hitting and devastating scenes. Let’s say, I love to cry. Boy, did tears come down for Crave. I felt my heart groaning in pain. I felt my soul yearn. My heart and soul were not ready for the assault of FEELS from Crave. Every single page just bled with gorgeous scenes with impeccable writing. Adriana Locke is a new to me author who writes with heart. I love when author makes you feel and connect. Crave is a connection. Crave is an experience. Crave is a journey. Heart tantalizing. Riveting. Crave is an addictive story with high level angsty. A second chance romance with so many butterflies, wit and heart. A wonderful and light romance with push and pull tension that ignites. A sweet, small town romance with twists and heat. A frustrating read but with a real storyline you can’t help but love. Crave truly shines a bright light on heart fluttering romances and I am sucker for them.
Crave introduces you Hadley and Machlan. You can feel their pain in the pages. It seeps. It touches. It wrecks. It breaks. Wow, my heart truly broke for these two. You could feel the chemistry. You could feel the connecting between the two. You could feel the love. Hadley and Machlan was filled with ups and downs. Trials and tribulations. However, their genuine love for each other shined. Their banter so infectious. I adore them. Hadley was a sassy and spirited woman. Loved her strength especially to Machlan. You go girl!!!!!Machlan is a warm and loving guy. An alpha male with a heart worthy of so much. They frustrated me a lot but I was totally rooting for them at the end.
Wow, what an introduction. Crave opened so much possibilities to definitely try more books by Adriana Locke.
Oh those Gibson boys! Second chance love stories are my jam, and Crave is just that, filled with Locke’s trademark humor and angst. Although it’s part of a fabulous series, and would read just find as a standalone, I do think you’ll rush to read the others after meeting the family. Fan favorites Nana and cousin Peck are of course there, the former holding the family together with weekly dinners and fried chicken, and the latter for comic relief (and oh is there comedy!). I was blown away by Machlan and Hadley’s story- when a certain event from their past was revealed, I gasped because I absolutely didn’t see it coming. Both a sweet and a heart-wrenching story, Crave is a must-read! And it gets us one step closer to Peck’s book!
Adriana has done it again with Crave! Oh how I love these Gibson boys although Machlan seriously challenged my love for him occasionally. This was a great second chance romance with some beautiful emotional angst weaved in.
The connection between Hadley and Machlan was strong despite the love/hate push/pull between them. They have loved each other since they were teenagers but Machlan ended up driving Hadley away with his fear of taking things further with them.
Adriana delivered some great emotion with this one, I felt every bump of the road along with them. She certainly made them AND me work for that HEA.
It was lovely seeing some old favourites from the previous books, especially Nana and Peck. oh how I’m looking forward to Peck’s story.
This is a wonderful story about Hadley and Machlan, who are perfect for each other, yet need to pluck up the courage to take a chance. Their story is an emotional rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. This talented author has done a fantastic job in penning this story, which is fun, thrilling, emotional, beautiful, humorous, and entertaining, with a few twists along the way. I was totally captivated throughout, and cannot wait to read more. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all readers who love a second chance romance.
This series so far has had me hot under the collar, and this book just took it up to a whole new level!!!
Machlan, the youngest Gibson brother is all kinds of hot, Hot tempered, Moody, Grumpy, a man with a lot of walls, but Hadley has loved him all her life. Even though their past has been passionate, it also holds secrets that in ways has tore them apart and will definitely have you in pieces. But neither can really move on or let go.
Oh my, this story just had my emotions all twisted right from the start. This is so much more than just a second chance romance. I loved both these characters, Machlan has definitely become my favourite Gibson Brother, and Hadley just blew me away with her inner heart, even though my heart broke into pieces for her. The dialogue and the the relationships this couple have with each other and family and friends were so easy to become invested in that you just felt part of the clan. I think i read 60% of this book either with tears falling or biting them back. The love between these two was so obvious, yet they both were on such different pages and i wanted nothing more than for them to meet right in the middle of the same page. But life has a way of changing the directions we want or have planned and this author has a way of fracturing our hearts yet filling them with joy all at the same time !!!
Loved !!!! Machlan and Hadley had me fully invested in their story.
Crave is a bit of a love/hate/second chance romance and Machlan and Hadley’s story is emotional with some angst that has me torn up.
I’ll admit there were definitely times in this book where I wanted to throat punch Machlan for his decisions or lack there of. And my heart completely bled for Hadley.
The connection with these two was strong and it ran deep. I love when I feel things immediately for a couple and it definitely happened in this book very early on.
I flove Machlans alpha male tendencies even when he had no right at times to try and lay down the law.
Of course we get to see characters from previous books in this series along with Nana and Peck. I freaking love Nana and Peck provides the comic relief especially during some intense moments between Machlan and Had.
Continue to love this series and I absolutely can’t wait for Peck’s story. I’m super excited to see what Adriana Locke has in store for him.
Fantastic read that will give you the feels.
Ohhhhh…the sloooooowwww burn and angst of this story are of epic proportions! Add in a brother’s best friend and second chance romance and I am one happy reader!
Machlan and Hadley are unfinished business but both are so leary of saying the final goodbye. Some relationships are never over when we think they are over and these two are in that boat together. It’s a rocky, rough ride. Some secrets in their past have kept them apart but sometimes you just can’t deny fate.
” You can’t help who yu love. But you can help how much you let them hurt you.”
“If God asked me to design a woman for myself, I’d just point to Hadley and say, “Yeah, you already did.””
There are times I wanted to scream at these two because it’s so obvious they love and care for each other but the past has been littered with decisions that may hinder their ability to be together. The push and pull between these two kept me reading for hours on end. God, I love these Gibson Boys! Bring on some Crazy with PECK!!
Machlan has been a long time coming. It was a hard choice between who I wanted to read first between him and Peck. Who doesn’t love a brooding bartender? If you have read the rest of the Gibson boys, then you know that Mach has some kind of past with Hadley. It didn’t seem to end well whatever was between them. Addy gave us Crave to answer exactly what happened between these two.
Sometimes the past is hard to let go and Mach and Had are holding onto it too tightly. Had even ran away just to get some distance from their past. When she shows back up in town, fireworks. If Had is within a mile of Mach, he knows it and he can’t keep his eyes off of her. To say he loves her is an understatement, the problem is….he doesn’t think he deserves her love.
If you loved the other Gibson boy books, this one want disappoint. You get all the feels and the banter between them had me laughing at times. Chemistry off the charts. Now, if they could just let go of the past, maybe their future will be bright. Thrown in a side of Peck and this book makes the perfect meal.
Oh my goodness Crave broke me into a thousand tiny pieces, patched them together then broke me again. Thankfully, by the end, it did leave me whole but it took me on one huge and emotional journey in the meanwhile. I cried an absolute river over Hadley and Machlan.
This is a second chance story that really brought something new to the genre. It’s also a good job Machlan was such a wonderful, caring and loving guy because boy did he deserve a good shake at times! However I think I fell in love with him as much as Hadley, so just like her I forgave him his stupidity.
There was a very, very tiny moment when I thought the story line was about to become a little repetitive (I stress ‘about’ not ‘did’). How wrong I was because BAM! Ms Locke threw an absolute firecracker of a secret into the story. I’d suspected a little of what the secret was, but the entire truth was so much bigger, so much more heartbreaking and so much more ‘more’ than I would ever have been able to guess at. And yes it was one of the many ‘I need a box of tissues’ moments that this book contained.
Hadley and Machlan are just everyday people. I love that they aren’t super beautiful, super rich, super successful and therefore super unbelievable. No Hadley and Machlan are characters you can not only understand and get behind, but who you become totally invested in. This pair have entwined themselves in my heart and I don’t see them leaving there any time soon.
The story is special, amazing and wonderful and was one I didn’t want to put down. It was also great fun to see more of Peck, as well as catching up with Walker, Lachlan and Nana. There aren’t many books that, once I’ve finished, I want to read again but this is up there on that very exclusive list. Crave is a fantastic read and one I really, really do recommend.
Hadley Jacobs marches in to Crave more than a year after moving away to prove to herself and everyone else that she is completely over Machlan Gibson. Actually, maybe she just needs to get him out of her system one last time, then she’ll be over him. Hadley needs closure so that she can box up her feelings once and for all and move on with her life since it seems Machlan already has. Machlan knows for sure that he’s not over Hadley, but it’s been easy to ignore his feelings and pretend he is since she’s been gone. Why is she here, sitting in his bar, reminding him he still loves her even though she drives him crazy. Despite all of his attempts to push her away, he can’t help but feel a need to protect her, connected through the past they share. All of Hadley’s attempts to box up her feelings don’t seem to be working, Machlan isn’t helping any by sending her mixed signals.
I love a good second chance story. All of the angst of missed years and time wasted, and of course a tragedy with some baggage always give me the feels. Machlan and Hadley’s story is so sweet and heartbreaking. An unexpected twist had me in tears, if I’m being honest there were a couple of times I just had to put it down for a few minutes because I couldn’t handle some of the character’s decisions. I loved Machlan’s protectiveness over Hadley, but despised how he would push her away in the same sentence. I really could relate to Hadley and her need to box all of the baggage and feelings up and move on for her own mental health. I did feel that maybe the ending was a tiny bit rushed, but when you have so much history with someone, does it really take that much time to figure out? I love The Gibson Boys Series, and am so glad there’s more of them to come.
Machlan and Hadley’s story is a rollercoaster of emotions and I am so here for it. The angst was almost unbearable at times, there were moments I shed a few tears, and I couldn’t get enough of their banter! For as much as I wanted the duo to just get it together and be together, I did understand what was keeping them apart. That being said, we went through so much to finally get them to admit to their feelings for each other and act upon them but we didn’t get to wallow in it for very long before they hit yet another bump to HEA. It was a bit frustrating but it was also true to life and I can appreciate that. I look forward to the rest of the Gibson boys tales! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.
5 They Can’t Fall Out of Love With Each Other Stars!!!
Oh Machlan….you may have just ruined me for all other book boyfriends!!! From the very first time I met Machlan, I knew I wanted his story and the wait has been agonizingly long, but as they say, good things come to those that wait, and in this particular case, it’s 100% dead on!! This story is EVERYTHING I wanted it to be and so much more!!
Hadley and Machlan don’t want to love each other, but, they just can’t seem to get past their feelings because they’re “the one” for both of them. Our girl hasn’t been able to love anyone since she left town so what’s a girl to do, but come back to her hometown and get the man she’s always wanted….only problem is, is that Machlan doesn’t feel like he deserves this beautiful woman because of the pain he’s caused her.
But that’s the thing with love, it’s always forgiving…you may just need to work to get the ultimate HEA. And boy do these two deserve that never-ending love and happiness. This book had all the feels. I laughed, I cried, I swooned and I signed over Machlan and his almost caveman attitude at times. And of course we get our favorite characters showing up, because they’re all family.
Machlan and Hadley are by far my favorite couple of The Gibson Boys and I loved every page of their story. I came away feeling fulfilled both with an amazing story along with so much love in my heart. Yes, they had to work through all sorts of issues but in the end, having this second chance is what makes them so strong now….
“If Machlan and I had tried to stay together years ago, our roots weren’t planted yet. They would’ve given in to the weight of the world and we would’ve fallen on our faces. All those years of not being together weren’t in vain. They weren’t a waste, like Machlan thinks. They were a way to build us up to this point so we can enjoy it now.”
This is a must read book by the amazing Ms. Locke and once you hop on The Gibson Boys train you’ll never want to get off!!
5 CRAVE-ing More Mach Stars!!!
First, I LOVE a good second-chance romance with heart….and Adriana Locke DELIVERS it, in spades, with this INTENSELY emotional love story between Machlan Gibson and Hadley Jacobs!!!
I have to say that I ABSOLUTELY wanted to STRANGLE Mach, at times! But underneath all the Alpha-male bluster and protectiveness, Mach truly wants what HE thinks is best for Hadley….and SHE just wants to find out whether they can EVER make a relationship work, or move on and find her HEA!
This book had my emotions ALL over the place!!! There is a heart-rending twist (no spoilers…you need to experience it the way it plays out) that had me SOBBING INCONSOLABLY!!! I LOVED the push-pull and the OFF-THE-CHARTS chemistry between these two! The angst, the heat, the heart….signature Adriana! I also loved seeing the crazy and incredible dynamic between all the Gibson boys (and the cameos from some of the Landrys as well) I am soooooo looking forward to getting into MORE Gibson goodness with Peck’s book! I can’t WAIT to see if he really does get together with Molly (don’t do it, Adriana…PLEASE!!!!!) or if he maybe finds someone ELSE….like Emily or Navie? Hint; Navie would actually be my personal pick!
All in all, Crave is ANOTHER MUST READ from an author who consistently, continually AWEMAZES me with every single book! Adriana Locke you ROCK!
Finally Machlan and Hadley’s story. Their story is filled with love and heartbreak. The angst and hope will keep you hooked. You will root for them through their ups and downs. Machlan is definitely an alpha who you’ll love and Hadley is strong and is perfect for him. A great addition to this series and I can’t wait to read Peck’s book!
Every time I get to jump back into the Gibson Boys world I get so happy! I was pulled in from the start with this installment. I loved that it made me feel so much throughout reading.
Machlan and Hadley’s story is a long time coming. It is a second chance romance that will have your emotions taking over.
There were times I wanted to slap one, the other or both. They had me laughing, tearing up, wanting to throw my Kindle and smiling. This book truly had me running the emotional gauntlet.
You will fall in love with these characters but there are definitely some characters that you will want to punch in the face. I was yelling at them and cursing them. Just thinking about them makes me mad all over again. Lol
Adriana Locke is a fantastic writer who knows how to create characters and worlds that will stay with you long after the last word.
Tears! I had tears ate certain points while reading Crave, the third novel in Adriana Locke’s popular Gibson Boys series. This book has been one of my most anticipated reads for this last quarter of the 2019, and it definitely kicked it off on an awesomely high note. This was a second-chance slash friends-to-lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers romance and there was a whole lot of tension going on between Machlan Gibson and Hadley Jacobs that at times, I found myself wondering if maybe they would be better off apart to spare each other all the heartache and headache that seemed to come whenever they were together. But this was a story about love, and well, if you’re really lucky (or you happen to belong to the Gibsons), love does conquer all, even years of hurt, guilt, and anger.
Goodness but I lost track of the number of times I so wanted to smack Hadley’s and Machlan’s heads together! These two were so obviously in love with one another, but they also had more going on than meets the eye. I want say what all their issues were, but these weren’t your mundane, get-over-it-already sort of issues that you could just set aside or pretend never happened. My heart broke for both of them when the most painful memory they both shared was revealed, but it provides an opportunity to better understand where Machlan has been coming from all along. These two deserved a happy ending, and while it looked like it was a long time coming, these two fought and struggled but ultimately, they proved to each other (because everyone else had clued into that waaaaay before these two did) that they belonged together. Someone who doesn’t belong together? Peck and Molly McCarter. Just saying. But I digress! Make sure you check out the five-plus-starred must-read that is Crave.
This was such a great book. It was a great second chance romance! It is a must read. Loved Machlan and Hadley!!
Crave is an incredibly beautiful and well written story. Hadley & Machlan’s tale will capture your heart, make you fall in love and believe in second chances. Adriana Locke has once again provided me with a moving and unforgettable love story. The kind that will give you all the feels and ingrain itself deep into your heart.
This was an amazing story from start to finish. From the moment I picked up this book, I was glued to each and every word, page after page. I loved getting lost in Hadley and Machlan and the world of Crave. I couldn’t get enough of them and was just dying to see how it all turned out. Crave had lots of angst, romance, drama and frustration. And of course there was no shortage of alpha male goodness.
Crave gave me everything that I was looking for and more. It hooked me from the very first page and was easily devoured in one sitting. If you are looking for an entertaining read with great friendships & family, excellent chemistry and some well placed angst, then look no further. I definitely recommend checking this book out. This series is absolutely fantastic and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one!
