Hadley Jacobs is over Machlan Gibson. Sure, she’ll always be a little weak to the dimple in his right cheek and the way his five o’clock shadow makes him ruggedly handsome. But that’s not enough to cover every other thing about him because they all drive her nuts. Like how he won’t admit he’s wrong even when he knows it and how he drives his stupid car a million miles an hour on wet asphalt. As … asphalt. As she rolls back into town and takes a seat at Crave, she won’t take the bait. She’s over him. Mostly.
Machlan isn’t over her.
It’s not because he hasn’t tried. He reminds himself over and over that she’s not the girl for him. After all, she drives him insane with her sassy attitude and the way she calls him out on everything. She beats him at poker, even though she doesn’t know the difference between a straight and a flush, and when she looks at him with her bright, blue eyes, it’s unnerving. When she climbs onto that bar stool and orders a drink, he puts it in front of her and ignores the sparkle in her eyes. He’s not over her, but she won’t know that.
But she does know that. And he knows she’s not as over him as she’s pretending to be. When life forces their hand this time, there’s more on the line than a pile of poker chips. It’s their forever.

I like this author and this series, but this particular book wasn’t for me. I am all about forgiveness and second chances, but Machlan was too much.
3.5 stars
This second chance love story was a little bit of a struggle for me. That Machlan and Hadley spent so much time apart, so much time getting together and falling apart, was a hard read for me. These two have some baggage. They have a lot of history. I love it that they finally get it together for their HEA. I loved seeing the other Gibson Boys and Nana.
There is so much that goes on in here. History is what Hadley and Machlan are filled with And they need to cope. This could almost by my fav of the series. These two are steeped in the past and can’t seem to release to enjoy the future. It’s a struggle and to listen to their pain. On the plus side Sunday Dinners with Nana are the BEST! I just want to go and be there to hang. Then the brothers when they “help” each other with relationship advice. This is a good one!
Crave (The Gibson Boys #3) was another great read by Adriana Locke. Hadley comes back to town and is more determined then ever to prove to herself that she’s over Machlan. But Machlan has never gotten over her, although he’ll never tell her that. Life and fate intervene and forces them together. I loved reading Hadley and Machlan’s story and can’t wait to read more by Adriana Locke.
I read the boxset, which included Crank, Craft, Cross, Restraint, Crash, Crave, and Crazy.
Thank you Adriana for creating such amazing alphas that are so protective of their loved ones and the strong head-strong women that are perfect for them! Nana had my heart from the first book, I just want to hug her and sit and listen to her advice and stories.
These book are an ABSOLUTE MUST READ!!!!
This is my favorite Gibson boys book. Crave stole my heart. While reading this one my heart broke a little by little it left me a weeping mess. But then the magic that is in Adriana Locke’s writing it become so whole again. I love Machlan and Hadley so much. The fight they have between each other is just wonderful foreplay that will draw you in. You feel the chemistry and you feel the pain they share. I just couldn’t get enough and it is such a wonderful book to read filled with that emotional love you can’t put down. This so far is my favorite of the series. I really can’t wait for Peck’s book.
Machlan runs Crave the local bar, he moody, broody and downright smoldering. When Hadley his first love and best friends little sister returns to town his broodiness is off the charts. They have a shot at a second chance. LOVE the Gibson Boys.
I really enjoyed this book.
On the surface it looks like these two just can’t get it together. If you were to stop after the first few chapters of this book, you would just want these two to walk away from each other because their relationship doesn’t seem healthy.
However, if you did stop, you would miss so much more. This story tugs at the heartstrings and you can’t let go. You understand why these two keep coming around and not able to make it work but yet you see that they both desperately want it to work.
The level of hurt and blame that Machlan has is heartbreaking. Decision that were made have carried him though his adult life and can’t let him have his best life.
I highly recommend this book. You should read all the previous books before this to get a feel for the brothers and Peck though.
Crave is a stunning second-chance love story that had me captivated from the very first page until long after the last page. It is powerful, inspiring, emotionally raw, intense, and breathtakingly romantic. Adriana Locke delivers a story with so much heart and soul that is bleeds from the pages. The characters and storyline are well-written and relatable.
Machlan Gibson is a broken and complex man who is incredibly sexy, loyal and fiercely protective. There is so much depth to this man, the layers are endless. I fell hard for him. Hadley Jacobs is gorgeous, sweet, genuine and strong. I instantly liked her and deeply resonated with her character. The chemistry between them is undeniable and electric. They are inexplicably drawn to one another; bound by something stronger than they understand. They share an intense connection on a soul-deep level that can’t be ignored no matter how hard they try to resist. Watching their walls crumble was absolutely breathtaking. How they fight for one another is powerfully moving. I could feel every emotion they experienced — the butterfly moments, the heart-breaking moments, swoon-worthy moments and those that stole my breath. I adored the family moments — The unconditional love and support of family and friends was inspiring. I loved how the author scattered these scenes throughout the book; so much wisdom interlaced throughout this incredible story. I absolutely loved every second of this book and wished it didn’t have to end! Crave will forever leave a mark on my heart and soul!
Fellow reader, get your tissue and whatever stuffed animal you cuddle when need to, because this book is gonna hit ya right in the FEELS!
The third in the Gibson Boys series (and now my official favorite of the series) we are thrown into the lives of Machlan and Hadley. These two remind me of a kind of star-crossed lover vibe.
Mach is the owner and operator of Crave, the bar we have all come to know and love through the series, we know him as the Grumpy and moody youngest brother of the Gibson Clan. We see him interact with the other family, Walker, Lance (and my now favorite) Peck and Nana. Fair warning ,y avid readers, this one is gonna knock you in the teeth with it’s plot twist.
Hadley Jacobs has come home to see her brother Cross, and to try and move on from the feelings she has had for Machlan for pretty much her entire life. Telling herself she has “commitment problems,” Hadley has come home in the hopes to purge Mach from her system, she wants to hate him, not love him. She feels stuck, stuck loving someone that she feels does not love her. Mach and Hadley have some much history that they don’t seem to know what’s up and what is down, with a secret they keep from their friends and family weigh on them the two fight and argue more than anything else. But this is the way they are, or at least the way they are now.
Each carries baggage from scars they carry, and each must over come these issues if they want to move forward.
But can Mach let go of the past? Can he see past his pride? What will it take for the two to finally trust in one another?
I’m binge listening to this series & loving every minute of it!
Loved this book. A beautiful well written contemporary romance. It made me cry , smile and cry some more especially for the hard decisions that this young couple had to make. Off to read peck’ story
This is the third book in the Gibson Boys Series. This is another great addition to the Series. I love Hadley and Machlan’s story! They share a strong and beautiful chemistry. The story is so beautifully written, heartbreaking and heartwarming. I love their happy ending. Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott did an amazing narration! This is a great team author/narrators. This story can be listened as a standalone, but The Gibson Boys is a great Series, and you absolutely have to listen to all the books in the Series! I totally recommend it!
Lifelong craving
I found this book to be so emotionally fulfilling! I loved every word, every heartbeat, every tear, every laugh. Love those Gibson boys, and the women who love them. And as always Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross bring so much life to Ms. Locke’s writing through their flawless narration.
I loved Machlan’s story and think he could be my favourite so far out of the Gibson boys!
I can never fault Adriana’s books and Crave is no different. Hadley is a strong heroine and I loved her instantly! You will adore this book, that I am sure of!!
My FAVOURITE Gibson Boys book yet. This one had alllllll the feels. I shed tears, I laughed. The characters were great and their story perfect
*4,5 stars*
I’ve really loved the Gibson Boys series and I’m just always glad when another story comes out! You just can’t help but fall in love with them 🙂 And I’m just dying to read Peck’s story!
Hadley and Machlan have a history between them and they’ve loved each other since they were teenagers but something always held Machlan back to take the next step in their relationship. It’s made Hadley leave town and now she’s back, but not for long. She has taking some time off before she starts her new job but seeing Machlan again makes her feel the emotions all over again. She tries to do whatever it takes to keep her from falling again for his charms but it’s not that easy.
Machlan doesn’t know what to do with himself now Hadley’s back in town. Not that they can hold a conversation without a fight but there’s something inside him that doesn’t want to let her go. Will they finally be able to get together?…
Listening to Crave was such a fun experience. The story and characters are utterly delightful and realistic. I think Peck and Nana are my favorite characters. They kept me laughing throughout the story and constantly put a smile on my face. Not only was the story Adriana Locke created fantastic, but the narration was wonderful. Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross brought these characters to life. It was like I was sitting next to Hal and Peck at the bar visiting Machlan for a drink.
Even though I jumped right into the middle of the Gibson brothers series with Crave, I wasn’t lost or confused. Now I just need to pick up the rest of the Gibson men’s books.
I voluntarily received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
Audiobook review:
Crave (The Gibson Boys #3) is the perfect dose of second chance and fits with the other books in this series perfectly.
Broody Machlan Gibson and cool as a cucumber Hadley Jacob’s navagate through rough waters to land on shore in a metaphorical way. History is detailed and described in a way that characterizes their characteristics and attitude in life. Supporting character’s lighten up the narrative and add humorous banter. Brimming with angst a captivating and heartwrenching listen. I absolutely love this audiobook and could listen to the Gibson Boys all day long.
I’m so keyed up for the next book in this blue collor series which is the Gibson boys cousin Pecks story who just happens to be one of my favourite characters in this small town romance series.
Narrators Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross performance was flawless and perfectly executed. These two together showcase all the angst and tension in a truly passionate and real way. The pace and tone are just right and smoothly flow through. My favourite narrators, who are most fitting and illustriously choice for narrating this series.
I love second chance romances and Crave is now one of my favorites! Crave had me on a roller coaster of emotions from the very first page. Hadley wants to move on with her life after her heartbreaking split with Machlan. She is back in town to learn to hate him. But when she faces him at the bar, old feelings come back and her plans fall apart. Machlan wants to protect her from him and tries to push her away even as he holds on tight. Machlan and Hadley have been in love since their early teens. They know each other better than they know themselves. We slowly learn the truth about what happened to their relationship, and it is so heartbreaking. As they navigate around each other, they learn more about each other and who they are now. Their love is undeniable and their chemistry is even more explosive. Machlan could be so stubborn and frustrating at times, but Hadley is just as headstrong. Peck is the mediator at times and is so sweet and hilarious. The whole Gibson family is essential to the story. Their fun sibling banter and unconditional support made this story even more emotional, heartwarming, and fun! I really loved the ending of this story, because Machlan was so totally swoony! I can’t get enough of these Gibson Boys and the women who love them! Peck played a large part in this book and I can’t wait for his story next…. I hope!
