A swoon-worthy romance from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix!Opposites attract in a big way when an ex-military pilots rescues a sassy Southern chef in small town Alaska.Daphne is everything I don’t need, and she makes me crazy in all the wrong ways. This princess does not belong in the wilderness. Or, so I think. But then, thought is hard to come by around Daphne.Between flying tourists … come by around Daphne.
Between flying tourists all over Alaska’s skies, hotshot firefighting on the side, and raising my sixteen-year old sister, I don’t have time for anything, much less for a woman.
But time’s been laughing at me ever since Daphne showed up. I can’t get her out of my mind, and my control has fled the building. Oh, and I’m her boss.
One night, just one night, I let things go too far. Now, all bets are off.
Daphne & Flynn’s story is perfect for readers who love small town romance, military heroes, sassy heroines, opposites attract, workplace/boss romance, slow burn, emotional romance with a dash of angst, plenty of steam and swoon, and a grumpy hero with a protective streak as big as Alaska.
*A full-length, standalone romance.

Loved this story! Grief is overwhelming and Daphne wants to run. She takes off for Alaska to find change, peace and healing. While at the Resort she meets others who have faced loss plus a family who needs her. This book has it all: military flying heroes; sites that thrill her; and, romance with grumpy Flynn. There’s plenty of anxiety with a teen, food being cooked and fun family dynamics. Thanks to the author for making the book fun to read.
Crash Into You is sizzling and sweet, with just enough emotion rolled in to make this a huge “yes, please!” Daphne and Flynn had me hooked from the start (two words: grumpy. hero. Swoooons!) and I loved flipping the pages like lightning as their story became HEA.
I enjoyed every minute of this fantastic, swoon-worthy romance set in the wilds of Alaska with characters you feel like you know and want to be their friend and a beautifully written story that immediately captivated me and had me hanging onto every word until I finished the book. II was so excited to virtually return to Alaska and tag along on another romantic adventure with one of my favorite authors, J.H. Croix. I loved the attraction and off-the-charts chemistry between Daphne Bell who has a lot of baggage and comes to Alaska to regroup and Flynn Walker who owns the adventure and expedition resort near Diamond Creek. “Crash Into You” is the perfect start to the Dare With Me Series and I can hardly wait for book two. I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. I liked it so much, I purchased a copy to read again later.
Daphne is out to prove to herself she is capable of anything she sets her mind to and looking for a getaway from the chaos that has been her life lately. She has endured heart ache that I could not even imagine and then the ultimate betrayal by someone who was supposed to be by her side through thick and thin. So, some time away in Alaska is just what she is looking for but running to the resort owner, Flynn is an incredibly happy surprise. Flynn is not only attractive but hardworking, loyal, and will do anything for those he loves. He is a silent and brooding type of guy that doesn’t want to disrupt the way he currently lives his life he likes working hard for his resort and he loves taking care of his siblings yet deep down he craves something more. Flynn tries so hard to fight his attraction to Daphne and comes off as rude or grumpy, but that fight doesn’t last long. My heart hurt for Daphne and all she endured but she was resilient and I also hurt for Flynn because having to become a parent figure to siblings and getting them out of debt is not an easy thing for anyone. This was such a great read about learning to find yourself, finding love again, and trying move forward when all in the world makes it seem like it’s impossible.
This was my first JH Croix book and it didn’t disappoint. There are a lot of tropes in here, but I liked them in a good way. The characters were well rounded and all the interactions felt real… which just made it that much better!
I’ll be reading into book 2 of this series!
I think serious relationships need conflict so there can be a show of proper conflict resolution and communication, which is why I lowered the rating a little. However, I really did love the story! Daphne needs a change after dealing with her young son’s death and her husband’s betrayal. She plans on spending a month at a small Alaskan resort. The landscape and fresh air is almost as breathtaking as Flynn, the owner. Flynn is a workaholic, trying to care for his siblings and he doesn’t have time for relationships, nor has he had good role models of them. Daphne has a way of getting under his skin. Will one night stranded somewhere change the tensions between them? Chapters alternate giving the hero and heroine’s point of view, which I always love.
The start of another amazing series…..I love visiting Alaska!
This authors books always make me happy; her writing is spectacular. I immediately fell in love with the characters and their stories. All of my emotions were affected while reading – absolutely fantastic read!!!!!
Why did it take me so long to start this author?
I’m in love, deeply in love.
Flynn and Daphne have stolen my heart and I don’t want it back.
First of all, this is my first time reading a book set in Alaska, and what a magic place. As I was reading, I had to control my impulse to just pack a bag and explore everything Alaska has to offer. It seems exquisite.
As for the main characters, I loved how they were built. Daphne has been though so much, yet she finds the strength to start all over, to find peace and comfort in her unimaginable grief.
She was so strong and resilient, so centered and calm, despite everything she faced in the past. She loved freely, without expecting anything in return. The way the author portrayed her maturity was admirable.
Flynn was such a great guy. I’ve said this in my reviews before and I stand by it: we can always love a bad boy here and there, but I’m a total sucker for a good guy. And Flynn was amazing.
Loyal, responsible and honest, caring in his grumpy way. He lived for his family and his friends, but not once did he show resentment. It’s not even because he could hide it so well; he just didn’t hold anything against his family and that was so beautiful.
Seeing Flynn and Daphne navigating around each other, trying to embrace their feelings through the wariness they rightfully felt was enthralling.
And the way the secondary character rooted for them and supported them in their happiness and their fears was so heartwarming.
As soon as I finished the book, I wanted to the devour all the next ones.
Opposites attract in a big way when an ex-military pilot rescues a sassy southern chef in small-town Alaska. Daphne is everything.Flynn does not need, and she makes him crazy in all the wrong ways. He thinks of her as a princess and does not think she belongs in the wilderness. Between flying tourists all over Alaska’s skies, hotshot firefighting on the side, and raising his 16-year-old sister, Flynn does not have time for anything, much less a woman. He cannot get Daphne out of his mind, but he is her boss. One night he let thinks go too far. Now all bets are off. – Flynn certainly took his time acting on his attraction to Daphne. I was glad that Daphne stood up to her mom and took care of herself. I enjoyed Daphne’s relationship with Flynn, his family and his friends. This is a good romance.
Good read and a great change from what I usually read. I really liked these characters and the plot. Looking forward to reading more of this series and from this author.
A really good read with relatable characters. Daphne has suffered loss & betrayal, & hopes that a month in Alaska gives her a chance to get her bearings. Flynn has had to be a father figure to his 3 half siblings & constantly works to give them what they need. When he meets Daphne, for the first time he begins to think of what he needs. Together they find love, & readers will find happiness after reading this book.
CRASH INTO YOU is a book that mostly takes place in Alaska’s little gem of a town named Diamond Creek. Daphne Bell has had a horrible last year and needed to leave it all behind. What better place then hiding in Alaska. She has booked a month’s stay at Walker Adventures Resort. She rented a car instead of getting a driver. Not use to muddy roads, moose and bears, she was stuck at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. This is how she met Flynn Walker. He happens to be the very man who runs the resort to which she would be staying. This is the start of their story.
Flynn Walker had left the Air Force to come home to run the family resort. But ended up having three younger siblings to take care of, after the death of their mother. He had no time to himself or relationships, with all he had to do.
Daphne Bell had just gone through the worst year of her life. She had lost her precious young son to brain cancer. During the time of his heartbreaking illness, before his death, had been a very stressful period. To make it more heart-wrenching, she caught her husband with one of her friends. She was so sad and grieving, and had to leave, and so was glad for the change that the Alaskan resort offers. Her affair with Flynn Walker is a very slow-burn romance. When it heats up, it is sizzling! She fits in so well with Flynn and his family and friends. She feels at home and needed. Her family is demanding she come back home to them. Should she go or stay where she might find happiness again? This book has wonderful characters and a really good ending.
Loved it. Loved the characters.
I enjoyed it!
I enjoyed this book very much. It was funny, sad, and had great characters.
Enjoyed this book and author. Not a cliffhanger.
I really enjoyed it keep writing them
Loved this book!!
I couldn’t stop reading this story, and went on to read all the ones in this Dare series! I love J.H. Croix’s books. However, my one complaint in the series is the use of the same language/phrases/gestures in each book during the romantic scenes. Surely there are others that can be used. The books in this series take place in Alaska, which was a nice setting.
Started reading this thinking, “Ho hum. just another romance to put me to sleep.” Nope. That’s not this story!
