I like that both Mitch and Bryn instantly felt the connection and acted on it instead of beating around the bush or playing any games. You could feel the chemistry between them and couldn’t help but root for them to figure out their issues and fight for their love. – By Elizabeth
This is the first book I’ve read by Kristen Hope Mazzola. This was a good, quick, read that I really enjoyed. I really liked Bryn and Mitch together. They have chemistry from the very beginning. The book also has very little drama, which is something that I really appreciated. If you’re in the mood for a good contemporary, this book is for you.

Bryn and Mitch may be my favorite fictional couple to date. I was instantly in love with both characters. Kristen Hope Mazzola creates fun and exciting worlds. I loved their instant attraction and the both characters stood strong on their own. I loved this as a slightly shorter version in the Burn Me Anthology, so getting the entire novella was like a present.
Mazzola goes for the burn. Bryn and Mitch put on a scorcher of a show as they set fire to the rain with their damaged hearts and naughty words. Crash & Burn emerges from the ashes as a wicked, gritty, irresistible, soulful, hearty brand of delight. United by a career, they love, an attraction hard to control and painful moments each refuses to face, a love of tattoos is the road map to two broken souls. As they light up the sheets with their own personal brand of fire, each learns how to face the demons that haunt them as love guides the way to healing.
Favorite Quotes:
Here’s to the breezes that blow through the treezes, that lift the girl’s skirt high above her kneezes, it reveals a spot that teases and pleases. Here’s to snatch, down the hatch!
I do not sleep with the guys here. Self-preservation thing, ya know.” Bryn was talking a mile a minute. “I have to make sure that they never think of me as a chick or a piece of meat. It took me a long time to gain the respect of all those twat waffles with egos the size of Texas in there.”
My Review:
I giggle snorted and smirked my way through this delightfully naughty and scorching hot firefighter romance. This dirty talking, well-tatted and nimble couple needed flame retardant sheets and fire extinguishers in every room. This was my first exposure to Ms. Mazzola’s wordcraft and I adore her endearing characters, clever use of levity, and bawdy sense of humor. I’ll be on the lookout for future opportunities to indulge in her tales.
What a tease KMazz is. This was such a good story. If you are a fan of the Crashing series, then you know that Mitch is a spin off, but after he was dumped, the universe owed him and he definitely gained by snagging Bryn. Destiny just put the two of them into the right spot at the right time. This was a fast read with sass and heat! Loved it!
