Crank is a standalone romance in a new small town, blue-collar series from USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke. Join readers everywhere as they fall in love with the delicious Gibson Boys. This is one mistake Sienna Landry can’t buy her way out of. As Walker Gibson looks at her, then at the damage to his precious truck (that she may or may not have accidentally inflicted), she knows she’s … inflicted), she knows she’s in trouble. It’s not the busted headlight and dented grill that’s sunk her though. It’s the downright sinful man in front of her that’s the problem.
The small town mechanic is broody. Rough. Smells like engine grease and gasoline and Sienna isn’t sure why that’s so sexy, but it is. It so is. She’s ready to peel off her panties at the drop of his wrench.
He wants her too. She can feel it when he brushes against her. Experience it as he presses her against the wall of the shop. It’s thinly veiled in his deep, brown eyes when he looks at her like she’s everything he’s ever wanted. So why won’t he give in?
The damage to Walker’s truck is the first of many mistakes between the two of them, ending with truths that rock Sienna’s world. Nothing can fix her broken heart except the love of a man that won’t, maybe even can’t, love her back.

Oh. My.
SWEET BABY JESUS!! <3 <3
Walker Gibson doesn't know what's worse- the fact that his beloved truck "Daisy" has been smashed in with a baseball bat, or the young woman standing in front of him that's intoxicatingly beautiful and trying to hide said baseball bat behind her back.
Sienna Landry cannot believe the man standing in front of her: Those brooding eyes, that crooked smirk he gives her, the way his arms and shoulders stretch that black T-shirt he wears everyday. She knows he goes completely against her type of suits, nice hair, and polite manners- which is exactly what turns her on to Walker. Vowing to repay the damage she caused to his truck, she comes into his store, Crank, and starts working off her debt. But as the two work closer and closer, the chemistry between them is undeniable.
The romance is pulsating, electrifying, nuclear- everything you want in this story. The characters are perfection, the plot keeps you on the edge of your seat. I couldn't put it down. It was pure perfection. <3
Another great read by Adriana Locke! I have been waiting to read Sienna Landry’s book and this did not disappoint! I loved Walker Gibson!! He was sexy, broody, swoony! Sienna, I loved her and her confidence and sass! I loved Walker and Sienna together, they were so cute! They did have some pretty hot sex scenes! I LOVE all the Gibson brother’s! I am looking forward to reading their stories!
“As we get farther away, the air clearing of Sienna’s perfume, I realize it’s not suggestions I need. It’s a heavy dose of self-control.”
This is the first book in a very long time that has absorbed me. ABSORBED. ME. I was literally engrossed by 9% in. I felt like I was standing with these two in the parking lot just watching beauty unfold.
THE GIBSON FAMILY! I am seriously so in love. I don’t know if I can say this without someone calling me out on all my Landry obsessing, but … this Gibson clan has seriously stolen my heart. These men are an amazing mix of all the goodness of small town, the shenanigans of brothers, and the true affection of men with pure hearts. I can’t put into words the feeling I get whenever they are together. Also, I’m calling Peck right now. #dibsonPeck #heishilarious #MollydoesNOTdeservehim My favorite, though — Nana!
“Before I know what’s happening, my laughter fills the room. “You tell him, Mrs. Gibson,” I say, then cover my mouth with one hand. “First, call me Nana,” she corrects. “Second, don’t cover your mouth. Women around here have to speak up or we’re never heard. Remember that.”
This woman is the epitome of matriarch. She is warm, confident, sassy, and she takes NOTHING from these boys. With her as the leader of this clan, it’s no wonder they have such hearts and such … style
Now, let’s talk about Walker. Walker is … well, he’s umm … Walker is a huge jerk (that’s putting it mildly). From the beginning he is hot and cold with Sienna, like HOT and COOOOOLD. This man puts many other book heroes to shame with his flipping back & forth. Even though he keeps flopping and flipping back and forth, there is still something about him that gives me some hope. I can’t put my finger on just what it is, but every once in a while we get a glimpse of the goodness that he seems to be struggling to keep contained.
“His jaw sets, one leg crossing over the other. “You think you have everything figured out, don’t you?”
“No, quite the opposite. I don’t think I have the first thing figured out about you.”
Sienna is a much tougher woman than I am. Seriously, with the whiplash that Walker caused, I’d have been out of there much sooner than she was. You can feel the pull between these two, and this is something … different. I’m not sure how to accurately describe what I was feeling as Sienna and Walker’s interactions grew. But no matter the pull, the way that Walker was making me feel (and none of this was directed at me), made me want to just run away.
Seriously, y’all, I don’t have the words to appropriately convey what I felt while reading this book. In a lot of my reviews I’ll say I loved the characters and loved the world, but this story was something … different. I didn’t just fall in love with this place, but I became connected to it almost instantly, and there is no way I can make you feel the way I do. Although, I can say, this story has just joined my top rated series, so no pressure on the next one Adriana
“Just a few months ago, I didn’t know where I belonged and I definitely didn’t think it was in a place with cornfields and snowstorms. But I was wrong. You belong in a place where you can plant your roots and feel safe enough to let them grow. You belong somewhere your tank is filled as much as you take from it. You belong in the little niche of the world where you can’t imagine waking up anywhere different.”
“True love isn’t something you pick; it’s something the universe picks for you.”
Isn’t that perfect? I love love love the Gibson boys and am so excited for this series! I still have mad love for the Landry boys, but these Gibson boys are more what I grew up with- small town country boys. Swoon! And I think Sienna might be my favorite Landry overall- I adore her spunk and sassy personality. Crank had everything I love in my romance reads- heat, passion, humor and of course a bit of angst. Absolute perfection- I stayed up way past my bedtime finishing Crank. A must read!
5 Stars
I have a few go to authors who I know when I pick up my kindle to read one of their books it will be entertaining, engaging, and full of emotion, heat, heart and humor and Crank is no exception. Crank is the first title in the Gibson boys series, but it’s also the final title in the Landry Family series.
This pair are both very stubborn, and have their own baggage. It’s a case of opposites attract with Sienna and Walker. She comes from a privileged background whereas he was raised by a blue collar worker and continued the family tradition, running his own repair shop. Both the hero and heroine are endearing characters with flaws that make them so much more believable and relate-able.
Walker Gibson is an intriguing character, he’s kind of standoffish, broody, intense, prickly and grumpy, but he is also sexy, hardworking, loyal and loving to his family. Particularly his grandmother which is completely adorable!
Sienna Landry is a genuinely kind, bubbly, vivacious character. She’s kind of sassy, strong willed, loyal and honest.
The sexual tension and chemistry between Walker and Sienna just oozes off the page and the banter is fun, flirty full of humor, wit and playful ribbing.
I adored the secondary characters in this title, I loved all the Gibson boys they have certainly captivated my interest and the cameos of the Landry siblings was an added bonus. When you read each title in a series, you become invested in the characters finding their happy ever after and that’s how I felt for Sienna. I loved the strong familial ties that flow throughout this title, but also the Landry Family titles as well.
I adored Crank, and cannot wait to read future title in the Gibson Boys series.
This is another example of Adriana Locke talent of bringing a story to her readers that is full of heat, laugh out loud as well as some angst. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS STORY cannot wait for the next in the series of the Gibson men. 5++++ STARS
Crank is one of those books where I don’t even know where to start. There was so much goodness tucked into these pages and my heart is bubbling over with how happy and satisfied it is. I’m relatively new to Adriana Locke’s work – this is only the third book I’ve read by her – but this just might be the book that made me an actual fangirl.
I guess I’ll start with the love story – since it’s a romance after all, that’s maybe what you care most about. It is divine you guys. I felt like it perfectly captured that achy yearning and (my much coveted) sparky chemistry between Sienna and Walker. I sat in sort of a breathless daze as they pushed and pulled at each other, and then it felt like my whole body lit up when they finally found their way. I adored these characters individually, and together they were perfection. Honestly, this is one of the most satisfying romances that I’ve read this year.
Beyond that, it’s also a charming, humorous, and heartfelt family story. I’ve only read one of the Landry Family books so I don’t have all of their stories, and yet it was completely rewarding to see them all show up here in various ways and to varying degrees. But, and as it should be, the Gibson boys stole the show. I am already crazy about them – all of them (but I mean, Peck…really. You guys. PECK.) Honestly, I am so excited that there are more of these guys in my future because Ms. Locke has gifted us with an amazing set of colorful personalities here.
I’m crazy about this book. Chock full of authentic and heartfelt emotion, littered with charming little laugh-out-loud moments, and heavy on the swoon (no kidding – I had a moment towards the end of this book. Near full-on swoon), Crank was nothing but aces for me. I highly recommend, and I am desperate for more!
Adriana Locke does it again. I was just introduced to the Gibson boys and I think I’m in love. They scream country living and are hilarious and playful. From the small town feels to the family environment it’s highly entertaining.
Sienna Landry is a beautiful and smart girl. She’s witty and kind, wearing her heart on her sleeve. She’s trying to find her own way in this world aside from her successful family. She moved to a small town in Illinois and is running a small design company with her friend Delaney. What she doesn’t expect is to be introduced to the Gibson boys.
Walker Gibson is a hot mechanic who’s been through so much in life. He’s a tough and rugged man on the outside but don’t let that fool you because he’s just as sweet and caring on the inside. The last thing he expects in life is to find happiness. He’s stuck in his ways and doesn’t see a way out.
These two have a connection that’s undeniable. They have a witty banter that will keep you wanting more. Will they finally express their feeling for each other? Will Walker’s past allow him to move on?
Adriana, I love this group of boys so much! Thank you for another great story and I can’t wait for the next.
Adriana has started a new series for the Gibson boys and holy smokes it’s amazing! She incorporated the Landry Series and this new family! It’s incredible to see characters from one series interacting with new ones. This story is about starting fresh, opening up to new adventures, and love for family.
Sienna recently moved from Georgia to Illinois to start a business venture with her friend, Delaney. She is trying to be less dependent on her huge family and more on herself. She wants to spread her wings and see where it takes her. Sienna has a heart of gold and loves to help out others.
Walker is the owner of Crank, it’s an automotive repair shop. He is extremely broody and loves to work himself ragged. Walker has a lot happen in his life leading him down the path he has taken. He is loyal to a fault when it comes to his family.
Sienna and her friend, Delaney, decide to go out on the town one night to celebrate finishing a huge project they did. It leads to Sienna swinging a baseball bat and it smashing into Walker’s truck. Walker and his family see this and he isn’t happy. Sienna offers to pay for the damage, but Walker being Walker tells her to show up to his shop. She ends up working at the shop to repay the damages. His shop hasn’t been so clean and tidy since when his mother helped his father at it. Sienna sees something in Walker and she tries to get to know him. Walker tries to build his walls up higher because he is afraid he is going to ruin her.
Can Sienna get Walker to open up? Will Walker tell Sienna why he is trying so hard to stay away? Do they make it work in the end?
This first book in the series was awesome! It had me hooked from the very beginning, all the way to the end. I loved the way Sienna is with Walker and trying to pry him open. I highly recommend this book.
Crank is sublime. This is my first book by Adriana Locke and it will most definitely not be my last. I couldn’t get enough of this story and can’t wait for Craft to release in January.
“I want ripped jeans, nights with whiskey slurring, and laughing with no regard to who is taking a picture.”
Sienna, whom you’ve met in Landry series, comes from a powerful white collar family and is ready to stay out of the lime light. She is sassy and assertive. I could see myself hanging out with her and being besties. Walker is a broody, hot and cold mechanic that is irristable in a way that you will do anything you can to make him smile.
The tension in Crank was high as Walker and Sienna danced around each other in a battle of wits. Even as Walker was doing everything he could to hate Sienna he just kept getting pulled into her orbit.
“While I was never the little girl that wanted to go to out space, I’ll sign up for this ride just to see what it’s like.”
My favorite aspect of this story was the bond between Walker and his family and the small town. I adored Peck, his cousin, and his Nana. I loved the people we met coming into Crank and the relationship that Sienna built with them in such a short time.
I even enjoyed the crazy drama I could sense coming on! Crank is the first story in the Gibson Boys Series and I can’t wait to see all of them get their happily ever after.
4.5 stars
I felt the book was a little slow at first but knowing how amazing this author is I persevered, and thank goodness I did. Whilst there were sparks between Sienna and Walker, as well as some excellent banter, there was a little to much blowing hot and cold by Walker for my liking. I’m guessing this was perhaps done to emphasise how confusing this was for Sienna.
All of a sudden the book picked up pace and whilst we still had Walker being an idiot, you start to realise there is a reason for it, even if we don’t know that reason just yet. Things start going really well until they don’t, and boy does it make you want to slap Walker upside the head for making such a stupid decision. There’s lots of sage advice to both parties from friends and family, I loved the phone call between Sienna, Graham and Lincoln. Oh and the scene in Crank between Walker and Dave – just have a box of tissues ready for that one.
Before long I was totally caught up in Sienna and Walker’s story. I really liked them both, and one of the huge strengths of the Landry and now Gibson books is the love and support shown by family. The relationship between brothers and cousins was wonderful, all the banter was so heartwarming but at the end of the day, even if they seemed to bicker most of the time, I love how they all have each others backs. The characters are portrayed so well they feel real.
The chemistry is off the charts and there are some wonderfully steamy scenes between Walker and Sienna. Well before the end of the book I loved Walker and the letter at the end, well that just raised him up to one of my favourite book boyfriends ever.
Roll on the rest of the Gibson Boys books, I can’t wait to see who tames their wild ways.
GOOD LORD! This book is just so good.
Finally we get Sienna’s book!! Sienna is a sister from The Landry series, which you don’t HAVE to read in order to understand and enjoy this book, but you should because that series is great!! Still, this book is GOLD!! If this is how the series is starting, I’m going to say this series might move to the top of my Adriana Locke list
Sienna & Walker have so much chemistry. You can feel it all through the words. It’s so electrifying and HOT!! In LOVE mechanics (I married one) and Walker sure doesn’t disappoint. This couple is so great together. Adriana, you sure found the perfect man for Sienna.
The story was so believable. I simply loved everything about it. READ IT!!!
I loved this new world created by Adriana Locke. It’s got just the right feel. I love how she incorporated the southern family charm that I came to love from the Landry’s into another family.
Sienna Landry’s novel is the first in a new series, set in Illinois, and her love interest Walker Gibson, a local mechanic. The sparks fly, just like that bat Sienna was holding…. but are the sparks enough to tie Sienna down??? You’ll see!
This is just the beginning though, because Walker Gipson has brothers, people, BROTHERS not to mention my favorite character, the hilarious jokester cousin! I can’t wait to see what happens with this bunch next.
I’m in love with sienna Landry that is all!!! God what an amazing story!! I loved the characters! I cried, laughed and swooned all over the place!! It was a page turner since the very beginning and so different than what I’m used to from this author! It was so refreshing and amazing!! No words!
I received an ARC for an honest review.
Like all of us I was waiting patiently (kind of?!!) for Sienna’s book and the introduction to the Gibson boys. Wow!!!!! I was not disappointed!! I loved everything about this book – the instant attraction between Sienna and Walker, Peck (how could you not!), Nana, the brothers, the appearance of the Landry’s. The list goes on!
My biggest dilemma is that I can’t figure out if I like the Gibson boys more than the Landry boys!!! … I think I need to read book #2 in the Gibson boys series to make up my mind!!
Thanks Adriana for yet another outstanding book!!! 5* without a doubt!!
Adriana Locke has made me fall in love all over again with a brand new family. Sienna Landry, one of two daughters from the beloved Landry family has met her match in Walker Gibson. Walker is one hot mechanic with a secret. After an eventful first meeting the sparks fly. Their chemistry is off the charts!
I love how Adriane makes you fall in love with all the characters in her books. The development of each one is so precise. I cannot wait for the next book in this brand new series!!
Oh Adriana…..you did it again! I absolutely loved Crank, as I knew I would. I loved the different feel and flow to it, as the Gibson boys definitely are not like our Landry loves. Yet, you included our favorites into the story and made the transition into this new family absolutely seamless.
Walker Gibson…..what can I say about him? Definitely a broody man, yet he has a heart of gold. You can just tell that about him. Sienna….I love her feisty attitude. Growing up with Lincoln, Barrett, Graham, and Ford for brothers, she definitely does not take crap from anyone. And after meeting Walker, her life totally gets flipped upside down. He gives her a challenge she’s not used to, yet lights something inside of her she hasn’t felt before. I just loved these two together, even though Walker was a complete idiot at times. Loved the chemistry between these two – hot, hot, hot!!
Even though Graham will always be my favorite Landry love, Walker has definitely stole a small piece of my heart. Looking forward to reading about the rest of those Gibson boys!
Let me start by saying that I am a big fan of Adriana Locke and read the entire Landry Series and a few of her other books I wondered how and when Sienna was going to get her story and boy did she ever get her story and I was lucky enough to be gifted a free advanced copy and I am voluntarily giving my own review of the book. This is a great start to a new series and new characters. The family dynamics are here just as they were in the Landry series so you get a sense of comfort and you just go on and the story flows with you. You get to learn a lot more about who Sienna really is and that she isn’t that much different from her sister when it comes to choosing men. I like the whole flip side premise of how we get to see how the blue collar worker lives in this series versus how the rich lived in the Landry series. I like how she didn’t rush these two characters into their relationship but rather let it build. But it was funny how when it finally did build up Sienna was ready for either him or she would walk and find someone else and that got Walker to finally make his move. Seems to me that the “Slugger” hit a homer in. I look forward to Machlan and Peck’s stories. I recommend this book to all of Adriana Locke’s fans who are familiar with her writing style and heat level in her stories and those who love ro
