Crank is a standalone romance in a new small town, blue-collar series from USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke. Join readers everywhere as they fall in love with the delicious Gibson Boys. This is one mistake Sienna Landry can’t buy her way out of. As Walker Gibson looks at her, then at the damage to his precious truck (that she may or may not have accidentally inflicted), she knows she’s … inflicted), she knows she’s in trouble. It’s not the busted headlight and dented grill that’s sunk her though. It’s the downright sinful man in front of her that’s the problem.
The small town mechanic is broody. Rough. Smells like engine grease and gasoline and Sienna isn’t sure why that’s so sexy, but it is. It so is. She’s ready to peel off her panties at the drop of his wrench.
He wants her too. She can feel it when he brushes against her. Experience it as he presses her against the wall of the shop. It’s thinly veiled in his deep, brown eyes when he looks at her like she’s everything he’s ever wanted. So why won’t he give in?
The damage to Walker’s truck is the first of many mistakes between the two of them, ending with truths that rock Sienna’s world. Nothing can fix her broken heart except the love of a man that won’t, maybe even can’t, love her back.

As an author who loves to write about families, Adriana’s stories always suck me in. Crank was absolutely no different. I’ve put it at the top of my list so I can re-read it.
5+ PERFECTION STARS FOR CRANK!! I wish I could give 10 stars, this book deserves way more than 5 stars. Crank is in my top 10 books of 2017. Sienna Laundry knows how to pick the perfect man in an unusual way. I think Adriana Locke’s, Gibson Boys are going to give the Laundry brothers a run for your heart. Walker is PERFECTION in every way possible, This author knows how to create the perfect man characters that your heart falls in love with. Sienna Laundry is beautiful and a bit of a free spirit these two together are both strong and sexy and boy do their bodies talk to each other. This is the first book in the Gibson boys series, so make sure you pick this one up. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I enjoyed this book SO much and two, I can’t believe I’m saying this but Landry Brothers who? The Gibson men exude charm, playfulness, cockiness with a dash of ruggedness which makes them oh-so-appealing and hard to resist.
I adore Locke’s series that centred on family bonding and this is another series that has me already in love with the Gibson’s and I can’t wait to read more about them!
This is the first book in The Gibson Boys series. I love this sweet, and beautifully written story. Walker and Sienna are both great characters. Sienna is so kind and comprehensive. Walker is protective and possessive. The other characters are also great! Now, I can’t wait for the next book in the Series, Craft, Lance and Mariah’s story. Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott did an amazing narration, as always! This is a great team author/narrators. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
I absolutely loved this book. Adriana is an awesome storyteller! I’ve previously read most of her books about the Laundry family (Swing is the only one still on my TBR list). I loved those books. I had high hopes for Sienna’s story. This book Did Not Disappoint! It was amazing! I loved learning more about Sienna and meeting the Gibson boys. Walker has the perfect amount of swoon-worthiness and reserve. He is an Alpha-male who loves his family & community. He is definitely a tough nut to crack! I loved how he wants to protect Sienna from harm. Even if that means from himself (and his secrets). Sienna is a strong woman who knows what she wants. She however, isn’t always certain on what that is. I loved how she loves with her whole heart. She also knows the importance of family and community. Sienna & Walker could burn the house down with their amazing chemistry. I loved reading as their story continued to unfold. It had everything, including dual POV. I love this! To be able to get inside their brains & know what they’re thinking & feeling. It was neat to see them evolve & grow individually and together. I also enjoyed learning about all of the secondary characters. I can’t wait to see their stories told. Lance, Peck, and Machlan. This is Definitely A Must Read for any fans of her books and writing! It is also a Must Read for any fans of the Landry family. Look out, here comes the Gibson boys! I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Wow. I didn’t think it could get any better than the Landry men, but I think Adriana Locke outdid herself with the Gibson boys!
This is the story of Walker- a small town mechanic, working to keep his father’s legacy going,- and Sienna- the other half of Camilla from the Landry series, and who has been in Illinois for the last year opening a design business with her friend, Delaney. They don’t know what hits them when Sienna hits Walker’s truck with a bat! This set off a series of events that bring the two of them together, allowing them to find themselves.
The chemistry between these two was off the charts! Between Sienna’s sassy mouth and Walker’s broody (and grumpy) personality, they complement each other to perfection!
I have loved everything that Adriana Locke has written, but I think that these Gibson boys are some of my favorite! Their love of family and small town resonated with me. I look forward to reading about the rest of this family!
I absolutely, 100%, just got CRANKed by Walker Gibson and I wouldn’t, without a niggle of a doubt, have it any other way! Hell, I already want to go back in and just live inside this world where the Landrys and the Gibsons are real. I can’t even begin to describe how thrilled I am that Adriana Locke chose to start her newest series by crossing over the phenomenal and unforgettable Landry Family with her overly handsome and desirable troublemakers—the Gibson Boys. And let’s face it—that in and of itself is brilliant enough to make this a smashing hit in my book.
This is the ultimate proof of why I freaking anticipate and adore all of this author’s work. She always ticks off almost every single thing I crave and need in a remarkable romance novel without fail—a sexy, grumpy hero with a mysterious past; a feisty, sassy-mouthed heroine with a beautiful soul; the swoony feels and emotional overload; secondary characters that will make you beg for their own stories; and a captivating plot with the twists and conflicts that will have your heart pumping and your blood rushing through your veins. I shouldn’t have had any worries that she could successfully follow up the Landry Family series—which I loved with every fiber of my being—with another one that I now believe is even better.
The way Ms. Locke wrote Sienna Landry and Walker Gibson’s story just blew me away; it was beyond riveting and compelling and filled with so much emotion that I’m still reeling over it all. It will also string you along the entire ride, keeping you guessing as to what will come next and waiting for the other shoe to drop—the build up was seriously that intense. Walker and Sienna’s chemistry was absolutely off the charts and that connection between them was just so undeniably electric. They were out of this world combustible once they gave in to what was brewing between them the moment they laid their eyes on each other. And the way they found their equal ground and steady footing around one another will have you glued to the book from cover to cover. The dynamic between the characters, especially the brothers, is like pure crack—you won’t ever have your fill of them. I just loved the playful bantering, the continuous ribbing, the comfort and sense of belonging among the Gibsons that flowed all throughout the story. You’ll definitely feel like you’re a part of the crew the whole time you’re immersed in their world.
You’d probably think nothing can rival the Landry Family Adriana Locke has introduced us to and had us falling so deep for. But nope, you haven’t seen nothing yet. Wait until you meet these Gibson Boys, then reevaluate. I mean, just the parts with their cousin, Peck, is already enough to make this book worth your while. I fell for him and his sweet, crazy ass—I want nothing more than to know what his story is going to be—but I loved Walker Gibson even more. As a whole? All I can say is that Crank is truly an exceptional start to a new series and is the BEST Locke book I’ve read thus far. These Gibson boys will DESTROY hearts and ovaries. They will leave you breathless, speechless, and your world a little more than topsy-turvy.
I loved Sienna and Walker’s story, it drew me in quickly and was amazingly hard to put down.
Sienna is strong, caring and thoughtful. She’s trying to find her place in the world; she seems caught up in perceived expectations based on who her family is and she wants to make her own way. Walker is gruff and cranky but there are small glimpses of the kind, thoughtful and loving guy that he is on the inside. And there’s just something about a man who’s good with his hands! The chemistry between them is hot and evident right from the start. I loved seeing them slowly find themselves and each other; it wasn’t a smooth road but anything worth having is worth fighting for (or chasing after).
Although this is a different series there are links back to the Landry family series with Sienna’s siblings, it’s always fun to catch up on the Landry antics. And the Gibson boys, well they are a mix of naughty and nice and it will be fun to see more of them. I am definitely looking forward to more of Peck!
Crank is the first book in the Gibson Boys series. If you read Adriana’s Landry’s series then you have already met Miss Sienna Landry. I love that Adriana has crossed her over to a new series! She loves her family but she doesn’t fit the mold like her other siblings. She enjoys her freedom outside of politics, social events, and the family businesses. She is not a wild child but she wants something different for herself. And that is what brought her to Linton, Illinois a year ago. To run a designing business with her best friend Delaney. She didn’t know how much the move would change her life…
It all started with an accident that brought out the Gibson Boys. They were strangers to Sienna and Delaney but something was different when Sienna locked eyes with the owner of the truck she just hit. He was not the type of man that she would have dated back in Savannah. But even with his scowl and cranky-ass attitude he made her feel hot all over. Nervous even. Something she never was even in the rooms of politicians and celebrities. After everything is said and done the next morning she realizes she has to see him again in a few days. At his auto repair shop. She can’t stop thinking about him and after seeing him again she still can’t read this man. This sexy as sin man who smells like grease and heartbreak. She was going to just walk away but something was telling her that he was different. That if she walked away that she would regret it.
Walker knew he shouldn’t have listened to his dumbass cousin Peck. Now, he has to see Sienna more than he should. He was already thinking about her too much. He tired to push her away but for some reason she pushed back. He knew she was a woman who always got exactly what she wanted but he couldn’t let her get him. Yes. He wanted her laid out on his desk and all over his shop but he couldn’t go there. She wasn’t even sure if she was staying in Illinois. He knew if he had one taste of the woman who brought chaos to his brain, muffins to his shop, and smiles to customers then he wouldn’t want to let her go. Can Walker keep his distance from Sienna or will he give into what everyone around them sees? A woman who makes him happy.
I loved, loved, loved this story! I have been waiting patiently for Sienna’s story and the wait was so fucking worth it. I love the Landry’s so hard and knowing her throughout those books was fun but this…is perfect for her. The Gibsons reminded me of her brothers with their banter but they are edgier and less refined. No suits for these boys. But picturing Walker in his black shirts and work boots is sexy but add in the grease and callous hands…beyond hot! I felt like I was right there in Crank with Walker, Sienna, and Peck. Walking around teasing them and working under the hood of a truck.
The characters, all of them make up one amazing start to a new series. Walker and Sienna’s relationship is fun, sexy, frustrating, and beautiful. I loved that they are an unlikely match. A match that probably wouldn’t have happened if she didn’t take that swing. Walker’s brothers, cousins, and Nana are hilarious, sweet, and will do anything for each other. I am excited about their stories. I totally have crushes on them especially Peck.
P.S. While I am writing this review my husband is working on a car in the garage. Yes…he is a mechanic in his spare time. So I know all about the smell of grease and hot mechanic jumpsuits.
Quotes:
“Donaldson is in. Where’s his invoice?”
“Fuck if I know,” I grumble. “Sienna filed all that shit.”
“Where?”
“All I know is the folders were all sparkly. There’s still glitter on the floor back there. I’d just follow the glitter trail, Peck.”
“I’d like to follow that glitter trail,” he smirks.
“You like baseball and history?” Lance asks. “Fuck Walker. Wanna blow this joint and go home with me?”
“Close your eyes, Gibson. I’d hate for you to see what you’ve been missing.”
Very enjoyable! I loved how they all called her Slugger :). Totally warranted but still cute! I love all these brothers! Their camaraderie and brotherly stuff is simply great to listen to. Walker had a few shocking revelations and I really don’t know what he would do without Peck. I LOVED Walker’s gesture at the end! Sienna comes from the Landry brothers series (which I haven’t read/listened to yet). I loved all her interactions with them. They sound like great big brothers! She is a delight and I loved her. Nana and Peck were my favorite secondary characters.
Walker is a rough and grumpy mechanic with secrets. Sienna is a Landry but finding her own way. (If I had realized that prior to starting this series, I think I would choose to read the Landry family series first. Luck of the grab with an author I am getting to know.) She is determined, fun, and very kind. They have insane chemistry, but Walker makes their relationship difficult at times. I love his Nana, the small town setting, the family dynamics present among the Gibsons (and even the Landry family via long distance.) There was a lot to like. I look forward to reading the rest of the series and going back and reading more about the Landry family.
Crank is a town town romance. Walker is the local mechanic and Sienna owes him for damaging his vehicle. Walker is broody and is convinced that live is not for him, he is also hiding a secret from Sienna. Sienna is determine to break down his defenses. A sweet and fun romance, very enjoyable, it is a stand-alone in a series. You can’t go wrong with Adriana Locke’s books.
I borrowed this book on Prime Reading. I hadn’t read anything by the author prior to this book, but I found the premise and cover to be interesting.
The first thing I noticed that I absolutely loved were the names in the story. The character names weren’t your every day John and Sally, but they weren’t so outlandish as to seem trying too hard. The next thing that caught me was the “meet cute” as they call it. The nickname “Slugger” which stuck for the rest of the book, only added to that cuteness.
Both Walker and Sienna have a backstory and a depth that isn’t always achieved as efficiently as it is in this book. You start out already feeling like you sort of know this town and these people and even at the end of the book you’re still wanting to know more. Which is great, because there is a continuation of this series surrounding the Gibson men, and a spin off series surrounding the Landry family. I, for one, can’t wait to read them all!
The drama in this book is only matched by the chemistry and tension between the two main characters. And the side characters only add depth and dynamic to the start to this series. I feel like fans of good and steamy contemporary romance will devour the pages and be thirsting for the next volume.
I read the boxset, which included Crank, Craft, Cross, Restraint, Crash, Crave, and Crazy.
Thank you Adriana for creating such amazing alphas that are so protective of their loved ones and the strong head-strong women that are perfect for them! Nana had my heart from the first book, I just want to hug her and sit and listen to her advice and stories.
These book are an ABSOLUTE MUST READ!!!!
Crank is book one in The Gibson Boys series by Adriana Locke. This is my very first book by Adriana. This would qualify as a small town romance with an insta-spark between the two main characters.
Sienna Landry is Camilla Landry from The Landry Family series, twin sister. She was the one sibling of the Landry’s that wanted to make her own way. She didn’t want to live off her family’s name. So she moved to a small town in Illinois to start a new design business with her best friend. One mistake that might have involved a baseball bat and the front of a pick up truck put her face to face with a very angry and very good looking man. A man whose eyes, even in the darkened parking lot, seemed to see straight into her.
Walker Gibson is owner of Crank, the local garage. He’s in his brother’s bar when someone tells him his truck has been damaged. When he goes to investigate, he meets the most intriguing woman he’s ever seen, a woman that he can’t get off his mind. Little did he know that this woman was going to change his life.
Sienna is at a point in her life and career when she’s not sure what she’s going to do next, when decisions are going to need to be made. Walker is broody and rude but she can see hints of something deeper. Something he’s trying to keep closed off. But why? Still, she wants to get to know him better.
Both Sienna and Walker are attracted to each other in a huge way. There’s a bit of push and pull here when Walker is obviously fighting his growing feelings but he’s keeping secrets. Secrets that have the power to ruin everything before it even has a chance to bloom.
“Something about her just sparks a match deep inside me, one I can’t put out no matter how hard I try.”
I enjoyed this so much. I loved the connection between Sienna and Walker. I got pretty frustrated with Walker, not understanding his reasons for behaving the way he was. When they were together, though, these two were so adorable. I loved how Walker was with her when he started to open up. You can’t help but to fall in love with this family, with Walker’s brothers and his cousin Peck. Peck really won my heart. And I loved the way this ended. I definitely swooned. This is such a sweet story with characters you can’t help but love. And you will want to get to know Walker’s brothers better. It also makes me wonder about the other series and Sienna’s family. I will definitely be reading this author again!
Following the Landry’s-the last sister who left town to strike out on her own. Sienna is trying to make her own way without her family name but when she meets Walker Gibson she has met her match. He is a blue collar worker who doesn’t want to give her the time of day. They are Hot together. love this book and start of the new series. The Gibson Boys are coming to town.
Absolutely devoured this one! I listened to this one in audible & I’m hooked. Time to binge on the entire series! Enjoyed the nods to Sullivan & Greene Counties too!
This is the first book of the Gibson boys by Adriana Locke. I dove into this book from beginning to end and just could not put it down. Feel good book filled with laughter, jokes, love, and a few tears along with lively banter between Sienna and Walker that leaves you laughing hysterically at times and loving the shenanigans of Peck and his interactions with Sienna , friends and family. A feel of family love among the Gibson boys, which makes Sienna feel like she’s one of them, where she belongs!
A great new spin off series! I adored Sienna, so sassy, kind, generous and gives as good as she gets. Walker, is a broody yet sexy that you can’t help but root for him. The supporting characters were awesome and can’t wait for their stories. I devoured this read and highly recommend it.
I loved the Landry crew but I think these Gibson boys have taken the cake on this. The book was great, enough humour and serious as is life that kept me hooked to the story.
