From a fan favorite author with more than one million books sold, a heartwarming inspirational romance set in beautiful Wild Rose Country: Preparing to travel west to begin a new life, Byler Crane has thought of everything. Everything, that is, except a wife. An impromptu ad placed in the local mercantile brings Maggie Malone into his life–and a whole lot more than he bargained for. Before the … for. Before the ink on their marriage certificate dries, the feisty new bride has managed to add a foundling girl and a young boy to the “family.”
Maggie has no reason to trust men. But Crane promises to give her a home in the west. She’ll take a chance with him if for no other reason than to escape her present situation. But she will not tolerate any sort of injustice which lands her in one situation after another.
Through it all, Crane remains true. Is this enough reason to trust him with her heart?
This is a re-release. This title was originally published by Heartsong Books in 2001.

A very sweet journey. I liked how the POV is through the eyes of Crane. A very nice story. Very PG and wholesome. Enjoyed this story.
I HATED TO SEE THE END OF THE BOOK. I WISH IT COULD HAVE GONE ON SEVERAL MORE CHAPTERS. VERY GOOD READ.
Original plot and interesting story line. Loved the characters because they were believable and realistic.
A fun book to read
Interesting characters. Love the feisty bride.
I love that this is a clean (no ugly sex scenes) book!
While I walked into this book a little leery that I’d find the same pioneering story I’ve read by a million authors, I was pleasantly surprised to find that, while the setting was familiar, the story was quite original. New to this author, I crammed the book down in a day — I was so thrilled to see what would happen next! An enjoyable read.
It is a good read.
I found this book to be a very relaxing read with just enough romance
This was a delight, it was full of life. I liked both the lead characters , one full of fire and the other patient. It was as good a little western romance as I have read.
Simply a funny love story with its twists and turns in a young woman’s brave attempts to rescue two needy chidren and her own spiritual destiny with a man she hardly knows.
Loved it
Four somewhat misfit characters come together, after each has a rough start in life, to eventually form one family and make a new start in life as they make the trek west.
Original from how they met and what happens in their first few weeks together.
The book held my interest from beginning to end.
Nice clean, heartwarming story about the journey of a family finding their way to Canada to build a new home and life for themselves. Along the way, newly married Crane and Maggie, rediscover the joy of not being alone. I enjoyed the final chapters of the book and would recommend it to my friends and family.
enjoyed, would recommend
This was a page turner. I couldn’t put it down. The characters were excellent and the plot was enjoyable. I highly recommend this book
Not quite your typical romance. The Bride was quite spunky with a heart of gold, bringing in more adorable charcters and fighting off the bad guys. Also, a story of learning to trust your heart again after being hurt.
This was an easy to read story and dealt with some social issues people assume weren’t as common in the past. There was plenty of action but the story seemed to end a little abruptly. I’ve already recommended it to a friend.
