Books Included:
Bobbing for Bodies (Murder in the Mix 2)
My name is Lottie Lemon and I see dead people. Okay, so I rarely see dead people, mostly I see furry creatures of the dearly departed variety who have come back from the other side to warn me of their previous owners impending doom.
Trust me when I say this is not a good sign. So, when I spot an adorable, fuzzy, little squirrel skipping around at the grand opening for my new bakery, I about lose it, until I realize it’s a perky little poltergeist only visible to yours truly. But there are so many people at the grand opening it’s hard to discern who exactly might be in danger–that is, until I follow the little creature right out the back and straight into another homicide. It’s horrible to see your friend lying there vacant of life. Honey Hollow will never be the same.
Toxic Apple Turnovers (Murder in the Mix 13)
Fall is in the air, the weather is crisp, the leaves are golden and the atmosphere is ripe for murder. It’s the first catering event of the season and I’m blindsided by what transpires at the outlandish party. Not only that, but I stumble upon the one person I would never want to see facedown in a flower bed. And to top it all off, something wicked has rolled into Honey Hollow and every dead spirit I have ever encountered is back to help me fight it.
Killer Cupcakes (Murder in the Mix 14)
It’s October and the entire town has come out to celebrate the Haunted Honey Hollow Festival. In between doling out cupcakes and partaking in the festivities myself, I happen to stumble upon a body–not just any body–one that has far too many skeletons in the closet for me to ever sift through. Add to it my already complicated love life, the ghost of a black cat named Thirteen, a surprise that I never see coming and you’ll have the most frightening Halloween Honey Hollow has ever seen.

These mysteries are just a fun read, not complicated, and the characters are defined pretty well. The main character is quirky and down to earth at the same time, making her very likable, and the romantic twists are hysterical. I will supplement my other favorite books with these, especially when I need a laugh.
Cozy stupid.
I enjoyed the book, but it just didn’t offer that cozy feeling. It also spent too much time on the love triangle (s) and sexual innuendo. Call me a prude, but not what I wanted in a cozy mystery. I’ve read much better mysteries.
The first book I really didn’t like, seemed a bit scattered with no real direction. The second one I’m reading and it’s better writing but I really have a difficult time reading more than a couple of chapters at a time as the writing isn’t really flowing for me. I hope the third if I do read it, is better than the two I’ve gone through.
These are just plain totally fun books to read. You sort of get caught up in them and enjoy the journey as it develops. And I really appreciate the author not putting in any F* bombs or similar.
Fadcinating reading
I liked the characters and the interesting help that is given by pets.
Enjoyable set of stories with well developed characters.
Hard to follow.
Great stories and a fun read!
The “Cozy Halloween Boxed Set” by Addison Moore is a series of clever mysteries that present readers with the adventures or misadventures of Lottie Lemon, the new owner of a bakery that is attached to her family’s cafe in the tourist town of Honey Hollow. Lottie is special because she sees ghosts of furry animals just before an accident or murder occurs to the person who had at one time owned the animal. Occasionally, she even sees the ghost of a person who was connected to one of the murders. She is also special because she is involved with two handsome young men who love her as much as she loves them. Lottie loves them both equally and cannot decide which of them she will ultimately marry. One man, the town sheriff and the other, a local judge, are half brothers who find out about her unusual sightings and keep telling her to stay out of trying to solve the murders. They worry about her safety and know that no matter what they say, she will get involved in finding the perpetrator or perpetrators anyway. “Bobbing for Bodies” takes readers to the opening of her new bakery and the discovery of the ghost of a squirrel. “Toxic Apple Turnovers” introduces readers to the town’s assortment of characters and the death of one of them. “Killer Cupcakes” gets readers involved with more of the characters and helps Lottie’s mother get rid of one of the men she thinks she loves. In all, after readers romp with Lottie through several mysteries, they will yearn for even more adventures once the stories are finished.
I really tried to read this book…after several chapters of too many characters and little character and plot development, I cut my lost time and deleted it from my Kindle app.
Great Author!!!
Just finished reading the 3 stories, enjoyed them all. Keeps your attention, is a light, entertaining read.
Good series
Could not get into it.
In this fictional town, love triangles and messy romance run rampant. It was disappointing that the mystery takes a backseat to the main character’s never-ending romantic plight and passionate rendezvous.
For a cozy mystery, this has no offensive language, but it has a crazy amount of sexual innuendo. I only finished the first book in the set.
I did love the name of the bakery!
Loved the mysteries, did not like the love triangle—Was unbelievable and took up to much of the story
Just a little to far out in story to hold attention
Bailed out after a few pages. Nice set up for a cozy, but tense, sentance structure and vocabulary problems were enough to get it tossed without reading. My short exposure to characters didn’t give me much to on there. Might be cute if you’re not picky.
