Bobbing for Bodies (Murder in the Mix 2)
My name is Lottie Lemon and I see dead people. Okay, so I rarely see dead people, mostly I see furry creatures of the dearly departed variety who have come back from the other side to warn me of their previous owners impending doom.
Trust me when I say this is not a good sign. So, when I spot an adorable, fuzzy, little squirrel skipping around at the grand opening for my new bakery, I about lose it, until I realize it’s a perky little poltergeist only visible to yours truly. But there are so many people at the grand opening it’s hard to discern who exactly might be in danger–that is, until I follow the little creature right out the back and straight into another homicide. It’s horrible to see your friend lying there vacant of life. Honey Hollow will never be the same.
Toxic Apple Turnovers (Murder in the Mix 13)
Fall is in the air, the weather is crisp, the leaves are golden and the atmosphere is ripe for murder. It’s the first catering event of the season and I’m blindsided by what transpires at the outlandish party. Not only that, but I stumble upon the one person I would never want to see facedown in a flower bed. And to top it all off, something wicked has rolled into Honey Hollow and every dead spirit I have ever encountered is back to help me fight it.
Killer Cupcakes (Murder in the Mix 14)
It’s October and the entire town has come out to celebrate the Haunted Honey Hollow Festival. In between doling out cupcakes and partaking in the festivities myself, I happen to stumble upon a body–not just any body–one that has far too many skeletons in the closet for me to ever sift through. Add to it my already complicated love life, the ghost of a black cat named Thirteen, a surprise that I never see coming and you’ll have the most frightening Halloween Honey Hollow has ever seen.

It was a quick read and I considered it a light reading
Cozy paranormal mystery
Perfect book to read around Halloween. All the stories were fun, entertaining and light. Perfect escape reading. I totally enjoyed the stories.
would have liked the books to be in sequence Jumping to # 13 messed with my mind as I could only imagine what happened in between. Also was disappointed in the way the decision as to who to pick was out of Lemon’s hands. seemed like an easy way to end the conflict
Still reading
Two episodes were enough for me – should be listed under romance novels
looking forward to reading all the books in each series by Addison Moore
It’s hard to rate this series because parts of each book are good. But Lottie’s character, hopelessly in love with Everett and Noah, is pretty unbelievable. The character is at times shallow, at times assertive, at times coy. Her nymphomaniac, seventy year old mother is even worse. A widow, she has poor taste in men and a revolving collection. For me, the worst part of the book was the author’s over reliance on the thesaurus. Throughout the book, she chose wrong and inappropriate words in an attempt to make her writing more intellectual, but in the end she just came across as pretentious. A final annoyance for me was the incestuous nature of the characters that populated the books. Someone was always a former stepbrother, or adoptive mother, or best friend’s twin, or a newly discovered birth parent. Very few of the characters had integrity: they weren’t developed as individuals and had no depth of characters. The characters were always part of a package, joined at the hip with other characters. I would not recommend this author or series.
It was a fun read but not particularly a page turner. There are too many characters to track and not all that interesting. The characters didn’t have much depth.
This tale ha more twists than a redvine. Just as the story appeared to be headed towards one likely murderer, a new clue or event turned it in another. A race, a good red herring and then an unexpected ending.
Fun light weight read!
