Being home from summer break, Jessica is drawn into looking at the ‘freak accidents’ at the lumber mill when her cousin Mike complains to her about them and then is killed the next day. Her oddball friend Kimi Red Fox is trying to stop the Knight Industries from fracking on the reservation, plus she believes the Knight brothers are running a prostitution ring on the reservation. Things get personal and intense for Jessica and her whacking posse. The question is do they get their answers and will they be able to stop the powerful Knight brothers? I enjoyed the twists and turns in this action packed book.
I especially loved the insight into the human-traffic crimes in the oil patch of North Dakota and Montana!
A little slow, but not bad.
This book kept me guessing.
This book was intriguing, even though I guessed some of the identity of the players, I was still surprised at the ending. Good character development with a twist, made for entertaining reading.
I liked the book; it is a good story. This writer needs a better editor. There are many misspelled words and some plot jumps that could be smoother. This writer has enormous potential and I would like to read more of her work; in fact, I would love to edit her books.
Good book hard to put down.
Sad to be reminded of the treatment of our Indian citizens even today.
Disjointed story line. Foolish, impossible rescuers who dive into dangerous situations with no skills or back up plans. Unlikely rescues. Corrupt police who act with complete impunity. A bad guy with nothing going for him except muscles and a dilapidated travel trailer. A plot that jumps from one tired trope to another with an ending that … isn’t. Not my cup of tea.
Too gritty for me. Just didn’t enjoy it.
Didn’t finish it. A bit too harsh, gratuitously violent for me.
There are a lot of holes in the story and things that just don’t fit together.
It was okay, but not wonderful
It was slow
Yuk!
it was okay.
Mediocre read
Just a bit too much.
