This is the 3rd in the Sutter’s Hollow series. It’s Noah and Jilly’s story. I haven’t read the others in the series yet but I am looking forward to learning of their stories, too.
Noah was injured after graduation and as a result lost his sight. He was grumpy and wanted to remain a loner. He rarely, if ever, left his home and he liked it that way. Then three small children and their foster mom worked their way into his heart. He thought he was satisfied with his life as it had been but he didn’t know what he was missing. Was the possibility of more pain worth the possible reward he might have if he let himself be vulnerable again. Was love worth the risk?
This story was a clean, wholesome, emotional rollercoaster of a ride. Jilly and Noah both had painful pasts that left huge scars on their hearts making them believe they didn’t deserve more than what they already had. I stayed up way too late to finish this wonderful story but it was worth the missed sleep for the happy ending.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
I received this book from NetGalley to review and I am so pleased that I was. The story is about Jilly who had a friend in High School that had an accident and lost his site. Years later she moves into the family home and discovers that Noah is living next door and has become a recluse. Jilly understands this but has her hands full with 3 foster children who are doing everything they can to torment and interrupt Noah as he is working and issues of her own.. Little by little the youngest starts to bring him out of his shell and we learn about their past, see their future and discover that no matter what love can endure.
This is a perfect beach read for this summer or just a wonderful curl up in front of the loose yourself in their lives.
I gobbled this up in one day. Another great read from Lacy Williams. I love the author’s writing style and voice, and I especially love her talent for weaving in emotion with realistic circumstances.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up this book. In Secondhand Cowboy, I didn’t like either Jilly or Noah. But what the author delivered surprised me. I loved how the hero and heroine were constantly butting heads competitively. They were the perfect match for each other, and the perfect complementary pair to get each other to open up about their painful pasts.
Looking forward to reading more of this author’s work!
An inspirational story of two survivors, Noah, blinded by a car accident, and Jilly, breast cancer. They’ve known each other since high school, but her hoodlum foster boys bring them back together with their pranks and vandalism against Noah. She’s struggling to keep the kids and Noah’s struggling to keep isolated, but their attraction is strong, which will win?
I highly recommend this book and the series.
I loved this book!!! Jilly has a heart of gold and so much spunk. Noah is just really existing until Jilly and her foster children bust into his life. Loved the kids. A instant spark between Noah and Jilly but a slow building of a relationship. Great ending.
This is the first book I have read in this series but I had no problem reading it has a total stand alone
Noah Miller a blind voice-over artist and book narrator has got over the fact that a accident through stupidity caused him to lose his eyesight ten years earlier He has accepted that this is his new life and been a recluse suits him The his former rival Jilly moves in next door though things quickly change She has faced cancer and has taken a new path to motherhood and her an d her three foster kids have moved in to the ranch next door. The only problem is they have no intention of letting him keep his reclusive nature and are continually pushing his limits will they draw him back into the world You will have to read to see
This is a well written book that is a very emotional read. It’s a beautiful heartwarming story that will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. Once you start reading it you can’t put it down. I read it in one sitting. I highly recommend this book. Thank you Lacy Williams Books LLC via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this wonderful book. All opinions expressed are my own.

I received a free copy of the clean Texas based novel Cowgirl Next Door: The Sutter’s Hollow series: book 3: Jilly and Noah by Lacy Williams and this review was given freely.
A poignant story set around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season featuring the themes of cancer related infertility, under age drinking, accidental murder, the insecurity of being a foster child and the love and healing that can come from a blended family.
Blind and reclusive voice-over artist and book narrator Noah Miller thinks he has everything he needs until his high school rival, foster mom Jilly Tatum and her three children move on to the farm next door.
This is such an inspirational story! One night changed Noah’s life forever 10 years ago and now he’s got a solitary life all figured out and doesn’t like to be disturbed. He’s adjusted to his blindness and his life is just fine. However, when his high school rival, Jilly, lives next door with 3 rambunctious foster kids, his life turns upside down and his definitely doesn’t like it! I learned a lot about the abilities of blind people in this book and it was heartwarming! I loved the way the youngest foster child broke through the barriers of Noah’s heart even though he resisted frequently! Jilly has been through cancer so she’s no quitter and she’s going to break down Noah’s walls – he has no say in the matter! A very touching and inspirational story that I couldn’t wait to devour!
