Happiness is Broken Falls Ranch in my rear view mirror. At least, that’s what I thought when I drove out of town in a blaze of angry words and hurt feelings. I wasn’t sure I’d ever see my grandfather again. But with unexpected retirement from my special forces unit staring me in the eye, I head home to mend fences and eat some crow.Priscilla Monroe is Granddad’s nurse. She’s the first thing I see … She’s the first thing I see when I step through the door, and the only thing filling my dreams. Unfortunately, she’s made it clear she’s here to work and nothing more.
I had no idea that going back to the ranch would give me back my future. Not the future I planned, but a future I discovered I wanted. I also had no idea it would give me back my heart.
How can I prove to Priscilla that her future belongs with me?

Absolutely fantastic! A well written emotionally deep romance. The storyline is flawless, funny, witty, enjoyable, and very interesting. The story flows smoothly and moves along at a brisk pace with a few ups and downs and a mix of emotions on every page. The chemistry between them is intense and their love scenes are beautifully written and HOT!

Our hero left his hometown, wanting to see the bigger world. Now he is coming home and finds more than he expected.
This time our Flirt Club theme is cowboys. This is part of a themed series by well established authors. Each story is a standalone, sharing only the theme (and setting in this case), so you can read one or more of them as the fancy strikes you. No prior reading required.
This is a short story about coming home. The story is very well written with a straightforward and easy to follow plot. We also get three well developed characters that fit well into our story and setting. (NOTE: This is not a menage story. We just have an extra main character.) Our couple has real chemistry, and our hero has real issues, all presented in a story that is easy to read and over all too soon. And it all wraps up with a nice HEA. Overall, a very pleasant evening read.
Highly recommended.

When you have enough of Fiji why not go to Paulson, Montana
Pris is a home care private nurse who travels to Paulson, MO for her next assignment choice. There she is to work for Freeze Buckley, the 72 year old owner of the Broken Falls Ranch. Freeze is not only in need of a nurse but also of some help around the ranch. His only grandson, Axel, has not been back to visit since he left to join the Army 11 years ago, with the last 8 in special ops. Freeze’s wife Ginny passed 6 years ago and Axel’s parents were killed when he was young so he was raised on the ranch.
Pris and Freeze settle into a routine that works for both of them, which includes teaching Pris to ride. But things change when Axel and his unit walk into an IED in Afghanistan and he is injured. Unfortunately for him there were able to fix him up bu not enough for him to go back to his unit. Instead of riding a desk Axel decides not to re-up when his enlistment is up and instead is discharged. So he heads back to Paulson and the Broken Falls Ranch, where he learns that a lot has changed including the new addition of Pris to the ranch.
This is a really interesting story as it combines a number of different elements but they are woven together delicately by Laney Powell. Having had a grandmother who nursed for the rich and was taken to various destinations for years I could relate to the character of Pris. She is strong but yet gentle, which makes her a wonderful nurse for her patients and a wall of stone to those that try to push her away from her job. I loved the utter feistiness of Freeze. This man had some of the best lines in the entire book as he was hell bent and determined to still lead his life on his own terms. Axel is a strong Alpha male who finds himself untethered from what had been his life and not too sure if he will be accepted back by his grandfather and into the life he grew up in. Cowboy’s Heart definitely has heart and so much more. A definite recommended read!
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Loved Pris and Axel
Pris is a traveling nurse and companion. Her newest assignment is in Montana. First a stop in Colorado to visit her friend Serena.
Frazier “Freeze” Buckley is a stubborn old man. When a fall from his horse leads to the hospital, he knows he needs help. So he hires a nurse.
Freeze and Pris hot it off. He is enjoying teaching her about ranching. She bullys him into not overdoing it.
Axel Buckly has spent the last decade in the Army, special forces. A career ending injury has him either riding a deal or going home. He chose home, a place he hasn’t been since the day he left. Where he left his grandparents, not on the best of terms.
Axel is not happy about Pris. His grandfather is hiding something and Pris sites professionally confidentially.
Pris is having a hard time keeping things professional with her clients hot soldier now cowboy. He isn’t making it easy. He is home to stay and planning a future for the ranch. A future that Freeze has dreamed of for years.
Loved Pris and Axel, and Freeze. A great epilogue and tease for the Broken Falls Ranch series. The beginning of Freeze’s dream come to life.
A captivating and interesting steamy romance! The storyline is well written, emotionally deep, funny, and steamy. The characters are loveable especially a match making grandfather; the chemistry between the main characters is instant and off the charts. This book is a standalone and could be considered as the prequel to the Broken Falls Ranch series; and I am looking forward to reading the first book. Strongly recommended!

Pris is a traveling private nurse gets a job in Paulson, Montana taking care of Freeze. Axel is Freeze’s grandson who is home after eleven years in the military. From the moment Pris and Axel meet sparks fly. Will matchmaker Freeze get his grandson and nurse together? Cowboy’s Heart is a well written story with believable characters.
You can not help but love Freeze with his gruff stubbornness as well as Pris with her firm yet easy going attitude, then there is Axel who’s home and doesn’t know where he fits anymore and is suspicious of Pris yet also attracted to her. Definitely a feel good and happily ever after read that has you wanting to read the next full book in the series to see how things go on the farm with the new direction it is going in as well as catch up with Freeze, Pris and Axel !

Once again the flirt club a group of authors all writing books that revolve a single town or situation have done it written a series that draws us in and keeps so engaged They are all short stories that are perfect for those times when you want something fast. This is their latest offering all the books in this series revolve around the town of Paulson Montana and the cowboys that call it home.

When Axel is injured enough that it ends his military career he return to the family ranch and meets Pris The spark between them is instant but they also clash about things Can Axel mend fences with his grandfather and get the woman he is falling in love with
Cowboys, nurses and Freeze

I love the military aspect of this story. I love how even though Axel runs away from home, it’s the place he goes to heal. Having Pris there to care for his grandfather, she helps Axel in a way too. Sweet book.
I love this cowboy collaboration! This one was different but liked it just the same. I love Freeze’s shenanigans and how he planned Axel and Pris. Their relationship started out rocky but don’t all good loves sometimes do? They were hot and heavy but the chemistry was there and it helped that they both needed to be there for Freeze. My favorite part is that this takes us into a new series by Laney Powell and we will get to see more of Axel, Pris, and Freeze. I can’t wait!

Sometimes our youthfulness shows in the decisions we make and how we handle them. Axel left home angry at his grandpa and didn’t come home for years. All alone now, grandpa hires Pris to be his nurse. When Axel comes home finally, things really heat up. But Axel and his grandpa mend their fences while finding a place for Pris on the ranch. A sweet, romantic story that’s different enough that you’ll want to read more books in this new series.

Quick and sweet that will steal your heart. Loved Axel and Paris insta love romance story that will keep you reading until the end. Freezer’s character also made a big impact in the story, his helped bring Axel and Paris HEA. This is only a tease from the author on a bigger series that I can’t wait to read.
This short story is part of the Big Sky collection from the Flirt Club. This short story is a great introduction to a new series! Broken Falls Ranch is home to Fraizer (Freeze) Buckley, he is widowed and due to a fall off a horse, he finds out he has more than a couple bruises ribs from the fall. He hires a nurse, Pris, to come help him out and monitor his health. He has one grandson for family, Axel, that is off serving his country and he has not been home in eleven years but writes a letter monthly. He gets injured and is no longer able to serve so he comes home to the ranch. This is a great story of becoming a family where that family coming together will heal as well. The Broken Falls Ranch is becoming a healing place for wounded warriors and a bull breeding ranch. I cannot wait to read on. Enjoy!

Priscilla (Pris) has been hired to look after Freeze after a fall shows something he wasn’t prepared for. His grandson Axel is in Afghanistan fighting and hasn’t been home for over eleven years. After an explosion takes out his knee and leaves shrapnel in his thigh leaving him with a limp, his career in the special forces is over.Axel returns and there are fireworks between Pris and him, Axel kisses Pris and it all moves on from there.
I really enjoyed reading this short story. It kept my attention and I loved the characters. I also love how it leads into a new series. I will be keeping my eyes on this author’s work. I’m now a fan.

Love the storyline and the characters that are well written, strong, and stubborn. Pris is hired by Freeze to be his nurse. His grandson, Axel comes home after being injured and discharged from Special Forces. He falls for Pris instantly, but how does he get the girl?
I love how Laney Powell makes a short book seem so much longer. I really felt like I was emersed in this story and as if I’d been reading for ages. However, not in a bad way, it didn’t drag or anything. I just felt like so much happened in such a short space of time. We get to know the characters thoroughly. We get backstories, dramas and happy ever afters. It was just perfect.
I really liked Pris; she was sassy and fun. Even though she has a sensible job, she doesn’t let that get in the way of her personality. I liked the suspense surrounding Freeze, that was built up nicely. Although, Axel continually having a go at Pris for not telling him got a little tired in the end. She’s told him why she couldn’t so stop going on!
I was nice for her to get a hunky love interest all for herself, as she points out at the beginning it’s all she really wants, what her friends have found. I’m looking forward to reading more of this world as Laney has said there will be a follow-on book. It will focus on Jensen that we briefly meet at the end but will also feature Pris, Axel and Freeze some more. It will be nice to read stories that are different from just the Spa Island girls. As much as I enjoy their stories, a change is always good!
4.5 Stars
I enjoyed this quick story. Axel and Pris are great characters and Freeze is the best!!
Cowboy’s Heart by Laney Powell a five-star read that will steal your heart. I don’t know who stole my heart more Freezer or Axel and Pris, this was such a great story I can honestly say its my favourite by this author. I am so excited to get my hands-on Broken Falls Ranch when it arrives, as what a setting for a beautiful story.
I enjoyed this story .. the first meeting immediately brought him new feelings. for her too, even though she didnt want to give in to that at first. good chemistry and it reads nicely. 5 stars.
