Cowboy on the Run . . .Once upon a time Luke Tanner had it all. Well, almost all. Then a Hollywood stunt gone wrong stole his best friend — and Luke knows it was all his fault. He could have stopped it, should have stopped it.Jillian Crane doesn’t agree. When she tracks her late fiancé’s best friend to his Colorado mountain hideaway, she is determined to make Luke start living again. She doesn’t … again. She doesn’t know she’s the last person on earth Luke wants to see. And she certainly doesn’t anticipate the feelings she develops for Luke … nor realize how deep Luke’s are for her.
But can they get over the past they share? And even if Jill can forgive him, can Luke ever forgive himself?

Fair but boring
Loved it. Loved the entire series
Wonderfully flawed characters. a bit stubborn but works for them in the end. interesting twist of how the protagonists know each other — tragic and real.
Luke Tanner is one stubborn cowboy. Sulky, cantankerous, hard-headed, yet Jillian Crane is able to soften him. Well, she’d softened him long ago when he first laid eyes on her. She is almost as stubborn and hard-headed, certainly doesn’t take no very easily for an answer. They find their way through the loss and the pain… to their happily ever after. A good read.
COWBOYS DON’T QUIT is a standalone read with a HEA. It is set in Colorado The hero, Luke, is a cowboy rancher that has retreated to his isolated mountain cabin to grieve for the loss of his best friend Keith. Luke is just an ordinary cowboy when he is approached by a director to be a stunt double for his star. It is easy money for doing what he does every day so Luke takes him up on it. He becomes best friends with Keith as they travel the world making movies and having a bit of fun and adventure. Then two things happen. Keith gets a serious girl friend and he is killed in a tragic accident that Luke feels he is to blame. He suffers terrible guilt.
At the funeral Jillian says some very unkind things to an already wounded soul. He leaves without answering back and for 2 years he stops living as well. Jillian is a very successful writer that met Keith while doing a story on him. She tracks Luke down to his cabin and asks his help in writing a book on Keith. Luke has been in love with her all this time but he is not happy to see her.
There is drama as Luke deals with his demons and his love for Jillian. There is humor as he deals with Paco, a neighbor’s young son. It is a good love story as Jillian will not give up on him. It is an entertaining read and I would definitely recommend it. If you like a good cowboy romance, then you will like this book. I found it to be a good read and I loved the cover!!
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 9/20/18
Redemption well written Persistence pays off twice.
This was an interesting story. Looking forward to reading more of Anne’s books!
Guilt and stubbornness play an every day role in Luke’s life as he works himself to death on his ranch. Hard work keeps him from thinking about the past or the future and hopes that he’ll be so tired he won’t dream about them as well. In walks Jillian, very much a part of what he’s trying to forget. The relationship is a struggle to say the least.
What a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The book went fairly quickly as the plot flowed nicely. Luke is a stuntman for his friend, Keith. Unfortunately Keith insists on doing a stunt on his own and dies. Luke basically retreats from life by going back to Colorado and buying a ranch. Jillian, Keith’s fiancee, is writing a book about Keith. She searches all over for Luke to get his help as she wants to interview him for the book. Luke, had feelings for Jillian while his friend was alive and doesn’t want to see Jillian. This is the story of the events after their meeting and the series of adventures leading to their HEA. How does Jillian get Luke over his guilt?
This story is amazing. Yeah, Luke is racked with guilt and doesn’t feel he deserves to be happy since his friend can’t be. I just loved reading this story. It is written from Luke’s POV only which is almost unheard of. I couldn’t put it down. I read this in one sitting.
I highly recommend.
Enjoyable story.
Great book but sometimes got very frustrated with Luke! Understand his guilt and grief but just wanted to shake some sense into him!!!
Always enjoy cowboy books.
Love the series.
this book caused me many late nights I couldn’t put it down
I didn’t enjoy this book and stopped reading it at 26%. Too much about his past and they haven’t gotten to what is past is yet.
Couldn’t finish this book. I got about half way thru and just gave up. He felt responsible for his actor friends death bc he was his stunt man. He also had a thing for the actors girl. After his death she comes back bc she is writing a book.
Took me a while to read…I got so upset with Luke that I had to take breaks…
Who doesn’t love a cowboy story. It was fun to read
Enjoyable, romantic, and you want the story to continue.
I loved the character interaction and the scenery they were portrayed in.
