Gabe Granger and Faith Stone have known each other since high school in the wonderful town of Last Stand, Texas in the Texas Hill Country. They both secretly liked each other six years ago back in high school but neither of them had the confidence to act on it. Faith planned on leaving Last Stand as soon as she could after graduation and Gage had no plans to leave Last Stand.
Fast forward 6 years to San Antonio and a one night stand between Gage and Faith. And twelve weeks later, Faith is on her way to Last Stand to talk to Gage and to tell him that their one night stand resulted in a pregnancy.
Can these two work their way past their old issues from their childhoods and realize that they really do belong together? And can they form a family?
A wonderful read from a new to me author thanks to Tule Publishing. I look forward to reading by her.
I did receive a copy of this book in advance from the publisher in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.
This is a terrific story about a second chance at love even though the first chance was over before it had a true time to happen.
Faith Stone finds herself pregnant after a night when she and Gage Granger finally gave into their always and forever simmering desire. There are so many complex emotions at play, especially for Gage. The story really belongs to him and all he is finally forced to face.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Loved it.
Cowboy True is Michelle Beattie’s 2nd book in her Tangled Up in Texas series. Again, we find ourselves on the Diamond G ranch in Last Stand, TX. This is the story of Gage Granger and Faith Stone, two teenage best friends, who reconnect six years later in a San Antonio hotel room. One night of consensual passion turns into a quagmire of emotions, that is compounded by a pregnancy.
Does Faith still love Gage, and why won’t she tell him? Does Gage really love Faith, or is he being nice because of the baby? Is Faith so destroyed by the treatment from her mother and grandmother, that she would actually give their baby up for adoption? Can Faith repair her relationship with her grandmother? Will the Granger brothers stop fighting, and repair their fractured family? Can Gage convince Faith to trust him, and claim the future they deserve… her, Gage, and their child?
The author has again written a very detailed, multi-faceted story… that keeps you on edge till the conclusion. Their emotions, their actions are riveting. Gage’s brothers Ryker, Dallas, and Cam all play huge roles in this story. Newly hired ranch-hand Roy is a treasure. He is quickly becoming my favorite character in this series. Ashley is in the running too. This is very original, very heartfelt, and a very thrilling story.
This is book 2 of the Tangled Up in Texas the first book in this series was a great read to.
I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review of this book.
The characters of Faith and Gage were just so real and their story just held me enthralled from the kittens in the barn to Gages brothers and Faiths grumpy grandmother the reading was so enjoyable. Oh and an ending that just warmed me. l hope my review will make you want to read the book.
This is a second chance romance and the story really got to me.
Both Gage and Faith come from troubled childhood experiences and yet, they have strived hard to become strong, independent individuals. But Faith still struggles with trying to prove that she’s not like her Mom and it’s hard for Gage to convince her that she’s worthy of love and good life.
I love how love and compassion wins the day and together they break the cycle of brokeness.
Although this is the second book in the series and I haven’t read the first one, this book can be read as a stand alone. A thread that runs through this series is the mystery of how Gage’s Dad lands in hospital. This perhaps will be revealed in Book #3 which I’m looking forward to it.
I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
I could not put down Faith and Gage’s love story in Cowboy True by Michelle Beattie, book two in her Tangled Up in Texas series. This is a wonderful, emotional, and heartwarming story, featuring two broken individuals, due to their upbringings, who have grown into two strong adults. Faith is our dispirited but strong heroine while Gage is our hero whose gentleness and kindness to all is amazing and selfless.
These two former school friends spent an amazing night reconnecting in San Antonio after six years apart. Faith is reluctant to return to her hometown, needing to tell Gage about the consequences from their night together. She has no desire to stay in Last Stand, especially after all of her painful memories. Faith is determined that she will never again be anyone’s burden or responsibility again. Gage knows that Faith has always been the one. He also realizes that he has an uphill battle before he can convince her that his heart is hers, and always has been.
Ms. Beattie wrote a wonderful, heartwarming and emotional story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Gage a chance to prove to Faith that she can trust in his love. I highly recommend Cowboy True to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Cowboy True is such a good book! It’s a second chance romance that had me turning the pages from the very first to the end. Faith and Gage have this connection between them that we all see and hey do as well but Faith for some reason fights it. Well, we see the reason but she still fights the attraction. Then when fate throws a baby in the way life really get “hairy”. Gage is most certainly what I would call a George Strait of Cowboys or as the title says a Cowboy True. The path is not straight by any means so saddle up and come find out how Faith and Gage get along in this romance. You love it I promise you.
I received this arc in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in this Last Stand Texas series about the Granger family. We met 4 of the 5 brothers in book one. We also learned that the dad had a heart attack and remained in a coma for a couple of weeks so far. Also an unknown young woman brought him in to the hospital and disappeared. This mystery is still unresolved. This book is about Gage Granger who is an EMT and helps out on the family ranch on his days off. All the brothers have issues getting along stemming from when they mother died and their dad left the oldest son Dallas to handle their personal lives.
We learn that 3 months prior, Gage had a one night stand with his best friend and long time crush that he hadn’t seen in 6 years, Faith. Growing up Faith had a lack of self esteem and lived in very depressing conditions with her grandma. Her mother abandoned her and her grandma was very cold and unloving to her. She met Gage at school and he used to sneak her back to his family’s ranch for some pleasant times. As soon as Faith graduated high school, she left Last Stand for San Antonio, only returning for holidays. Gage was devastated by her departure and was thrilled to see her again. She left his hotel room without saying goodbye and he wasn’t sure how to find her again.
Faith returns to Last Stand to deliver news to Gage about their night together and her resulting pregnancy. She tells him she plans to put the baby up for adoption and again leave town. Gage tells her he wants to keep the baby himself, thus foiling her plans. He works on a plan to change Faith’s mind as well as to try and establish a relationship between them.
The story explored both Gage and Faith’s past feelings for each other as well as their current ones. We also see the interactions between the brothers as they take small steps to restore a stronger bond. Faith struggles to overcome her past issues that are influencing how she reacts to having a baby. The mystery of the dad and the unknown woman continues to play out in this book too. I am really enjoying the series and can’t wait to read the rest of the books. This one like the first was terrific and hard to put down.
4.5 stars
I’m sure glad I discovered this author. Back in August, I read my first Michelle Beattie book. It was the first in this series, Cowboy Up. I didn’t realize until later she is know for her pirates and that had been her first contemporary romance. I’m glad she’s sticking with the contemporary romance thing with this series because she’s really great at it.
Faith and Gage have a wonderful chemistry. Both as friends and as a romantic attraction. Of course, they both keep so much from each other they don’t realize they aren’t alone in their years of attraction. As the story unfolds and they let go of their past hurts, they start to heal old wounds caused by their families.
While Faith could drive me crazy with her doubts and insecurities, I also could understand where she was coming from. Talk about a twisted childhood. Between her mom and her grandma, it’s a surprise she had any sort of self esteem at all. Faith is such a wonderful person that they few people she’s let in have tried tearing a hole in her view of herself.
Although Gage is such a wonderful man and a great character, he even has faults. They are hard to find, but they are there. Luckily, he’s such a good guy that once they are pointed out to him he admits to said flaws and decides to work on them.
I am anxiously awaiting stories on the rest of the Granger brothers. I love this author’s story telling.
**I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely**
WOW this one tugs at you heart strings There is so much these two have in common both had heartbreaking child hoods but where one has decided to life his life to the fuklkest the other has closed thm selves off
Faith and Gage where child hood friends she was raised buy a cold unfeeling grandmother after her mother dumped her with her grandmother Gage used to sneak her to his ranch so she could have a chance at a normal childhood. That is until his own mother dies and his father closed himself off emotionally. Now Faith has returned to their home town where Gage works as a paramedic they have a one night stand which has consequences Faith informs Gage she will be putting their child up for adoption but he isn’t having that he wants the child and he wants the woman now he has a few months to convince her he is the man for her. Can they get a HEA you will have to read to see
Cowboy True by Michelle Beattie is the continuing story of the Granger family whose father is in very sick. There is enough emotional baggage to go around for all involved in the story but none has more than Faith Stone. A dismal childhood causes her to flee Last Stand, Texas as soon as she is old enough. Now she is back, well, sort of, short term anyway. Gage Granger has always loved her so he is going to do his best to change her mind.
Second chance romances are one of my favorites but the other relationship predicament that Faith and Gage find themselves in, not so much. Still I understand that she had to have a strong reason to return to Last Stand. Their story is heartfelt, realistic and had me pulling for Gage. His brothers are typical with the usual sibling teasing, arguments and loyalty even with their baggage. Their interactions are part of why I enjoy this series so much. There is also a bit of a mystery that is interesting, so I want to keep reading to see how that all plays out as the series continues. Still this is a stand-alone read for the most part.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a book that I could not put down, loved Faith and Gage. A second chance romance. Both had troubled homelives growing up and were friends in high school. Gage knew Faith was leaving Last Stand as soon as she graduated but he has responsibilities at the ranch. Fast forward six years and they meet again, ends up in a one night stand. That one night stand will have lasting memories and change their futures. Now Gage just needs to convince Faith that they need to be together and that she is worthy individual.
Loved these characters, both are broken from their upbringing but now are two strong individuals. Even though Faith does not see it in herself. Gage is so compassionate to Faith. Loved how Faith wants to break the cycle of her upbringing. The ongoing mystery of Gage’s dad is just killing me, I want more.
This is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand alone, but then go back and read Cowboy Up. Now I can’t wait to read the next book!!
Faith but never really showed her the love she needed. She wasn’t abused but she couldn’t wait to graduate and get out of the house.
Gage was Faith’s high school friend and she had a crush on him but never told him. He liked her as well but never told her either because he knew that she was leaving town as soon as she could and he wasn’t planning on leaving town.
When she was old enough she did leave town and started her own life, she didn’t do great for herself but she managed. She ran into Gage one time in a bar and they had a one night stand which resulted in her getting pregnant. Now she is trying to decide how to handle the baby she is carrying.
A really good book that I think you will enjoy.
A second chance romance. Gage and Faith both are broken from their troubled childhoods. She’s the one he had to let go years before and now that she’s back he’s going to fight for her to give him a chance. Only she’s not going to make it easy. Overall just an okay story. For me it was hard to warm up to the characters. Especially Faith. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from Tule Publishing.
