Cowboy Reckoning by Barb Han
Cowboys of Cattle Cove Series Book One
Levi McGannon has become a loner over the past year ever since he took on the responsibility of Karma, a German shepherd that had been in the military as a bomb-sniffing dog. When he helps a woman who is lost on their land, everything changes.
Ensley Cartier just can’t move on. Ten years ago, everything changed when her beloved younger brother died. She didn’t believe the final results of his death and won’t rest until she knows the truth…which she is finding out could be deadly to her as well.
I really enjoyed this story. I liked the hero and heroine, and the dog added a lot to the story, too. All three had issues in their lives to work through.
Looking forward to more stories in this series.

While most of the book was fairly predictable (guy and girl meet, guy and girl fall for each other, guy and girl end up in dangerous situation, guy and girl end up together), the addition of the retired military dog added a little something extra to this book.
I rated “Cowboy Reckoning” (nook) as 3 stars but I think it has the potential for 4-1/2 to 5 stars. The story has a good theme and the tension builds toward the end. Yet, I wish there had been more to the story. Ms. Han easily could have stretched out and built up the events.
I was distracted throughout the book because serious editing is needed. Words and sentences were tangled. i did a double-take when “Oaklynn’s skin paled and she grabbed her hair before leaning over and WRENCHING into . . . ” It should be retching.
interesting to the very end,
Great read
All good intentions, with a great storyline but a story that moves to quickly. Some back history would have placed a correct timeline.
Suspense and romance perfect together!
Enjoying it now.
this book has a lot of suspens, and you don’t want to put it down. a good mystery as well as romance.
I liked the of a sister looking for the truth about her brother’s murder, but the love at first sight relationship didn’t work. Both Emily and Levi had issues with getting close to people except that they fell for each other immediately.
Timeline for story was too short for me.
Enjoyable story.
People need to proofread these books….too many grammatical errors as well as misuse of words due to computer being the monitor. In some instances, the so called sentences make no sense at all as words are substituted via the computer or words are left out.
It was an easy to read book. Not a lot of depth. Insta love and ridiculous porposal.
Fantastic, could put it down.
A book to read twice!
Really enjoyed the storyline!
writet needs a good proofreader snd a dictionary
I enjoy reading the book I read the next series so I read series 1, 2 and now reading number 3
Good reading thank you
Great read….could not put it down.
