Ford has been hurt and is a stubborn as a mule, but once someone or something reaches his heart nothing else matters.

I really liked this book. A engaging storyline that offers deep emotions, sweetness, drama and steamy passion. I loved Ford and Susannah. They are both very likable and had great chemistry. Ford has had a string of bad things happen to him. He is emotionally wounded and closed off. Susannah is such a caring character. Fierce, independent and determined she very easily slips into your heart. I loved the realistic connection that grew between these two. Add in angst and suspense and this book is one very enjoyable read.
Ford had been hurt physically by the rodeo and emotionally by his ex-finance, so he is afraid to let another woman close to him again. But he appreciates the equine therapy program that Suzanne is putting together for disabled and challenged children because horses helped him recover after he broke his back. There’s plenty of suspense in this romance with a fire, a horse thief, and lots of sexy funny moments.
This is a well written short story with likable characters in Ford and Susannah , with the author giving them a strong chemistry and fiery passion. The supporting characters help to move the story quickly and smoothly and shows the love ,loyalty and support with family and friends. It’s a sweet romance that had me hooked from start to finish. I’m looking forward to more from this family. I loved the book / series and would recommend reading.

This book was wonderfully written with a plot that flowed smoothly from page to page and characters that were so well developed that I was hooked from the very first page! Susannah and Ford were very likable characters which easily jumped from the pages and pulled me right into their story as it unfolded!
A fire brings Ford home, he’s wounded emotionally after surgery and losing his woman. It’s time he got his life back on track. Neighbour Susannah needs some help with her new business and she catches his eye…and heart.
This was a great cold afternoon read by the fire. It was an easy read, a tale of family values, smoking hot cowboys and a sizzling romance.
Ford Dalton hit hard times after an accident that almost left him unable to walk but cost him his job and fiance. A major fire happens at his uncles. Ford and Susannah are great characters, she has big dreams and is working hard to make them happen. Ford has had his dreams shattered when he was injured and his vfiance dumped him. He is overcoming his disaster but hadn’t relized how far he has come.
Good strong story, read for your enjoyment. It is part of a series but reads as a stand alone.

I loved this story! Love the Dalton Boys, and loved Ford’s tale. A really emotional one, with some great romance and poignant moments. Em Petrova has created a wonderful heroine in Susannah as well; I love strong women and she is no exception. A truly great read.
Paradise Valley…
Wonderful story. I loved Ford. Having his back and heart broken took a toll on him. Coming to Paradise Valley to help his family helps him to “reconnect” with himself. It also introduces him to Susannah who helps heal his heart. I’m going to have to read the previous stories about this family.

Ford broke his back in the rodeo, then his fiancé broke his heart. Coming back physically was a lot easier than emotionally, but when he finds himself fiercely attracted to Susannah, he has to confront his fears and learn to let his heart live again. Susannah needs help from her neighbors, the Daltons, to loan her some horses to help get her therapy program up and running. She is secretly thrilled when Ford Dalton offers his help as well, even if he is the Dalton That Doesn’t Smile.
These two have a combustible chemistry that is even hotter than the fire that brought Ford to Paradise Valley. This highly-emotional romance hits all the right notes, bringing the landscape and the characters to life with clarity and compassion. It’s easy to fall in love with the Dalton family and feel right at home in Paradise Valley. Add in a front-loader, a horse thief, and a mare that loves Ford almost as much as Susannah does, and you’ve got a thoroughly entertaining love story that has all the feels of a Texas ranch except for the mosquitoes and humidity.
This is the first book I’ve read in the Dalton series, and it works perfectly as a standalone. For fans of the series, you’ll see the couples (and children) from the previous books as secondary characters. I loved this book and have put the entire series on my TBR list. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is a romantic, sexy and fun story. Ford is quiet, strong, giving and sweet. Susannah is peppy, determined, stubborn and caring. Ford is a little lost after losing both his career and his fiance, but when he goes to help family rebuild after a fire, he finds himself drawn to Susannah and her horse therapy business. He fights his attraction, but she slowly works her way into his heart. I enjoyed this book very much.

He is having such bad luck with his life. About then he is needed at his Uncle’s to fight a fire so he goes along with his brothers. When asked he decides to stay but is still healing his wounds. He meets a neighbor looking for horses. She loves and works with them. He likes her but will only open up so far. I was given a review copy by booksprout and voluntarily review it.
“Cowboy Flirtation” (The Dalton Boys Book 7) by Em Petrova is a fantastic read. I loved Ford and Susannah’s story.
