This is the story of Sean and Amy. The were neighbors as children. They had the kind of relationship where he would pull her pigtails. Lol! It was an antagonistic relationship but I believe they had crushed on each other. She out of an abusive marriage physically and mentally. He can’t find that special forever woman and has given up. They find themselves working together because he’s been hired as general contractor for a house she inherited. But along the way they find suprises in the house and each other as they face danger in this romantic suspense. Highly recommended! Must read!!!

Covert Identities is a superb enemies to lovers and second chance story by Amabel Daniels. Ms. Daniels has a real talent for creating addictively good storylines, and this one is no exception. This story was intriguing and engrossing, it had mystery, drama, romance, some suspense, and there was a lot more to the story than meets the eye. It was so easy to lose myself (in a great way) in this story, tearing through it in a matter of hours, because I really had to know what would happen. The subtle complexities in the storyline seemed effortless, but are a true testament to Ms. Daniels talents as an author.
A celebrity dancer, her childhood nemesis, a hunky contractor, her best friend, human remains, an ex-police dog, an intriguing diary, and a dilapidated mansion are just some of the elements that come together in this superb read. How does it all play out? You really should read all the riveting details for yourself. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
There is a lot going on in the story, all of which is brilliantly choreographed by Ms. Daniels into a smooth and very enjoyable read. The story was a little bit slow to get going, but after a couple of chapters, the story really took off and I was hooked right through to the last word.
Ms. Daniels kept me guessing the whole way through. There were several scenarios that passed through my mind, making me wonder where the story would end up. I loved how Ms. Daniels twisted and turned the story, sprinkling surprises and unexpected details into the story.
I am really looking forward to reading the next book/s from Ms. Daniels.
Thank you, Ms. Daniels!
This book was packed with suspense and plenty of sexual tension between Sean and Amy. When Sean and Amy meet many years after high school, they still have the strain of being the kids that loved to hate each other. The chemistry between them is excellent. Amy has been through total devastation with an ex-husband who was abusive and controlled every aspect of her life. She wants nothing to do with relationships. Sean is one of several siblings and is one of the last that is still single without children. Being surrounded by happy couples makes him feel as if he will never find his one, so he decides to give up on finding her. The two develop a friendship over a mystery that has presented itself during rehabilitating Amy’s beloved uncle’s home. I was impressed with this book!
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It pulled me in right from the beginning. This author did a great job of making me feel as if I was right there with the characters with her attention to details. There is something for everyone in this book including mystery and suspense. It took me on a journey that left me sitting on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed how Amy and Sean would banter back and forth like they were trying to hide true feelings. I highly recommend this book.

This is the third book that I have read and loved by this author! Her writing NEVER fails to drag m in straight away and usually keep me on the edge of my seat whilst biting my fingernails. Covert Identities was an amazing read – the twists and turns were brilliant and it certainly lived up to its title! I loved not being able to guess what was going to happen and I loved the surprises that the author had in store for me!
The main characters Amy and Sean – I loved the chemistry between them – it was pretty HOT! I would imagine there are people who used to hate the evil boy who lived next door when they were younger only to have an instant attraction when they meet again years later.
Covert Identities is an amazing romantic suspense/mystery story which I loved!! I really cannot recommend it enough and I am definitely looking forward for more to come from Amabel Davies in the future!

Amy is finally back home. In her favorite childhood place. Her aunt’s & uncle’s mansion outside of Atlanta.
She’s been around the world as a famous dancer and then her marriage ended ‘unnicely’ and she had to heal both physically and mentally. But now she’s home and ready to breathe new life into the old and vandalized house. She’s planning on opening a dance school with her bestie Grace.
Enter Sean. Her childhood nemesis. The boy next door. They hated each other growing up. But of course they didn’t – the mega sparkage has always been there between them – even as kids.
And now he’s here – working on her house. And it’s a huge project.
And then they kinda find a dead body and her uncle’s mysterious secret diary ….
Let the fun times begin!
Well, that was adorable. And exciting. Sparky. Funny. Very Mysterious.
I really enjoyed reading it.
I loved Sean and Amy and the others and the dog and the house and the story!
I couldn’t stop reading – I just had to know what kind of secrets and mysteries the diary would reveal! Mega exciting!
Great romance with great people and interesting revelations!
It was mayyybe a tiny little bit too long and slowish in the romance department. Well, the romance part was understandable, but I missed the sexiness a bit. The writing was a bit too ‘unflowing’ for my tastes. Weird words or expressions or left-out words in the beginning of a sentence. It should’ve been a bit easier to read. I sometimes had to read paragraphs multiple times because I didn’t understand what Amabel wanted to say. And the cover … it’s not really Sean’s story – so I would’ve preferred something different. A beautiful old house and a diary … or.. something more connected to the story.
BUT – I really enjoyed the story!
Very exciting and sweet and definitely not a waste of my precious reading hours!
Cover Identities is a standalone enemies-to-lovers story.
Wow! What a read! I didn’t know if Amy Perry and Sean Newland would survive each other or the secrets that her Uncle Henri took to his grave!
After Sean and Amy discover Uncle Henri’s journal, they take a journey down a path full of hidden secrets. Page after page of the journal is carefully opened and then translated (as it’s in French) in hopes to find out more about Henri and his life, as well as the secret(s) he kept. However, some of those pages contained even more questions and no real answers.
While trying to discover and uncover the truth about Henri’s past, Sean and Amy start to discover and uncover their pasts and future wants/needs. As being neighbors when they were younger, a little chemistry was already present. With all the push and pull, the bickering and agreeing, they really are the ying and yang to each other.
I really enjoyed this book and Amy and Sean. The suspense to find out all the answers to those secrets kept me riveted to the story.
Wow! I mean who doesn’t love a good sexy mystery? The chemistry between these two are off the charts. Amy is finally back home to her favorite childhood place. She is finally ready to breathe new life in to old vandalized house, after her marriage ended poorly. Dean is her evil boy next door. They hated each other growing up. The mega spark had always been there with these two, even as kids. So they really didn’t hate each other. Now he is the one working on her house. They come upon some things in the house that starts the amazing mystery. Wanna now what they find in the house? Wanna know what her uncles secret? Then go get your copy of this book. This is a must read, I loved every bit of this read.
