Treason, torture and temptation haunt the GhostWalkers in their most dangerous adventure yet, as Christine Feehan’s #1 New York Times bestselling series hits an explosive new high.Rescuing an industrial spy from the hands of a criminal mastermind is a suicide mission for the GhostWalkers. Christine feehan is a wonderful writer. She keeps you wanting to read until it’s done
A great paranormal romance read
I like Christina Feehan’s books. I like Gino and Zara’s story and relationship. It fit for both of them.
Covert Game by Christine Feehan is the 14th book in the Ghostwalker series. The story is set in Shanghai at the beginning and near the end and in Louisiana for the rest of the story.
Zara Hightower is an industrial spy working to recover information on the Ghostwalkers that was given by a senator to a crime lord. One of the Ghostwalker teams is assigned to rescue her when she is held prisoner. I won’t say much else about the story line because of spoilers.
This novel is well-written and has memorable characters. However, bear in mind that this one is extremely violent. There is torture, violence and blood as well as many deaths. Some of the characters are very twisted and perverted. There is lots of action and some heart-pounding moments. There is also romance, tender moments and several very steamy scenes. There are also plenty of alpha males wanting to protect the women and children, even when some of the women are as dangerous as the males.
This book was hard to read at times due to the violence and torture. It was also sometimes annoying with the alpha males. Despite this, there is a good story underneath it. Due to the torture scenes and extreme violence, I rated this one 3.5 stars.
Dark, gritty, angsty and action packed.
This book had my gut in knots and tears falling down my face.
For those who have read and followed Christine Feehan’s Ghostwalker series, you will know that while we, the readers, have caught glimpses of Dr. Peter Whitney’s madness and seen flashbacks of his past crimes through the heroines’ minds and have heard numerous times that Whitney has no regard for the female characters safety and sends them out on hazardous missions – never before though, have we actually experienced the trauma so completely with the character and been so fully treated to the danger and terror of the missions that Whitney sends his soldiers on.
Covert Games brings together the darkly, dominant, fiercely protective, Gino Mazza and the highly intelligent, beautiful and strong, Zara Hightower.
After a treasonous senator shares details of the Ghostwalker program with foreign interests, Dr. Peter Whitney, orders Zara to retrieve the information.
When Zara is caught and held hostage, Gino Mazza’s Ghostwalker team is sent in to retrieve her and as soon as Gino learns of Zara, he knows that he will do anything to protect her because she is exactly what he’s been looking for.
This book was dark, beautiful and brilliant.
I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it.
Was happy to see Christine Feehan get back to what made this series great and away from the mostly pornography she had turned to. Will return to the series.
I have never read a book that Ms Feehan has written that I didn’t like. This story like her others is awesome. There is excitement, danger, intrigue. The excitement is so thick it will choke you sometimes. The danger you can feel all around you in the room. Sometimes I need to leave the room and let that feeling dissipate. Her stories will intrigue you and keep you on the edge of your set. They are always so good you will hate to see the last page.
Awesome
I enjoy the whole series.
I absolutely love this series and I really enjoyed seeing what each of the new Ghostwalker’s have to bring us. In this story we watch as Gino, the rough and rugged man who had to endure so much finally finds the love in Zara. Then with her we see her develop as a wonderful woman who doesn’t know how to be that to a man. They have enemies that never seem to quit and yet through it all they prevail. Through all their trouble and time the fall head over heals in love with each and prove that no matter what happens or how people react to them. It’s what matters most. I, so looking forward to seeing who is next to fall in love. Thank you Christine for a fantastic book agaon. I give it 5+ stars.
I always enjoy reading books from C. Feehan. I’m always looking for my next fix. I’m addicted.
I generally LOVE anything Christine Feehan writes. I especially love her Ghostwalker series. They are strong men and quirky females. Love the action and the male-female relationships. She gives us good romance without all those gory details about “how long, how wide, he is.” I have a good imagination, I don’t need the words.
I thought this book was wonderful it has everything you want to read about. The author is very good I have her hold collection she is one of my favorite author.
Fantastic book as always. Sara was a ghostwriter that most didn’t know about. She went to the Chinese crime boss to get the information from his computers and homely get out. They lock her up and beat her. The hoteliers get called to rescue her. They sterile they can keep her,but they are attack to get her back. Gino was the one to help her and they have a connection. The team is working hard to keep her safe and she tells that she had been operated and they put something in her brain and she can talk to computers and record data
I like her books, but lately too much sex and too little plot!
