Sometimes love can give you a second chance…
Bruce Harrison isn’t just a Rock Star, he’s the Rock Star. The penultimate bad boy rocker, he’s since grown up and cleaned up his act. He’s given up partying and loose women. His health is great and he has more money that he could spend in twenty lifetimes. The trouble is, he’s never been less satisfied.
Katrina Henley has a secret. She’s running … Henley has a secret. She’s running from a less than perfect past and she has responsibilities to fulfill that would overwhelm a lesser woman. But the talented beauty is no pushover when it comes to men. So when the legendary Bruce Harrison offers her a job, she makes it clear that he’s getting her voice and that’s it.
Bruce isn’t easy to dissuade though. He wants Katrina more than anything he’s wanted in his life and he’s determined to persuade the sultry singer to give him a chance. Even if he wins her love, will he be able to accept her secret and everything it entails?
Excerpt:
The girl was asleep in the car. He stared open mouthed as she moved in her sleep. She looked like a sculpture- only one that was warm and alive. She shifted and her blouse got caught, pulling the neckline down. He swallowed at the sight of her luscious curves as her cleavage came into view.
Bruce was still staring at her when he realized something else.
She was awake.
His eyes snapped to hers and he smiled sheepishly. She looked alarmed and then annoyed, like an angry kitten.
She yanked her top up and stepped out of the car.
He leaned against the side and watched her, further irritating her. God, she was cute when she was mad.
“You’re here early.”
She glanced over her shoulder at him while she locked the car. As if anyone would want to steal that heap of junk. It didn’t even really look safe to drive.
“I couldn’t risk being late.”
“Where are you coming from?”
“Canoga Park.”
He stared at her.
“That’s hours from here.”
She shrugged gracefully. Obviously she didn’t think he’d care that she was driving three hours in the middle of the night to get to rehearsal. But he did care. He hated the thought of her doing that. The risk she was taking.
“You can’t do that every day. Get a room near here.”
She frowned and stared at her shoes. He glanced down. Her black ankle cowboy boots were literally falling apart- barely holding on by a thread.
“We’ll pay for it. We need you at your best.”
“It’s fine. I- I just need a cup of coffee.”
He raised an eyebrow.
“No coffee. Just tea. It’s too drying on your cords.”
Her gorgeous lips opened in surprise. Harry had been right. The girl was really raw. She didn’t even know how to look after her voice.
“Come on, I’ll show you where they hide the good stuff. I’m Bruce by the way.”
He held out his hand and she stared at it, then glanced back at his face. Finally she reached out and he closed his hand over hers. Her skin was incredibly soft and silky. The bones of her hand were delicate, like a bird’s. He felt a sudden wave of protectiveness wash over him.
“I’m Kat. Katrina.”
As she pulled her hand back he felt the telltale callouses on her fingers.
“Kat. It suits you. So do you play too?”
She nodded and followed him to the entrance. He gestured that she should walk ahead of him.
He was doing his best to put her at ease as they walked through the darkened studio, but it wasn’t working. Her narrow back was stiff and straight. Her eyes were narrowed and suspicious.
Crap, if only she hadn’t caught him ogling her in the car. Now she was on her guard. He decided he’d do his best to counteract that by ignoring her the rest of the day.
Of course that was going to be easier said than done.

The storyline was well written, the plot flowed smoothly from page to page and the characters were written with such great detail and depth that as each and every page was turned I felt like Bruce and Kat jumped from the pages and pulled me right into their story!
A fantastic well written and entertaining story. This engaging storyline had me addicted from beginning to end with obstacles, ups and downs, laughs, other people interfering, misunderstandings, a whole lot of passion and love. The characters had undeniable attraction and amazing chemistry even though Kat tries to avoid something more. I enjoyed the mulitple epilogues and see previous characters continued HEAs whike theae teo get theirs. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.

I received an advanced copy in exchange for a honest review. Joanna has done it again! Another great book to complete a great series! This book held my attention throughout the whole thing. Love it!
I am a big fan of the author’s MC books, but this was my first experience with her rock star stories and I enjoyed myself very much! Joanna always creates hunky heroes with just the right mix of gruff and gentle personalities. Bruce and Kat are a lovely couple, full of instant attraction. Their story is a flirty romp with some serious life issues thrown in to balance the ride. Bruce was a bit heavy handed in some of his dealings with Kat, but it seemed a natural result of living the privileged life of a rock star. I enjoyed their story and look forward to reading the first two books in the series.
Katrina and Bruce will have reading more and more tille the very in end. Each with their own stories. Hers is a little sad and heartbreaking. His is lonely and a little heartbreaking. When they meet its ofd the charts instant reactions on both sides. While one tries to fight it the other wants it more than anything. When everything comes to a head and things get said and done will they be able to put the past behind them or will other things keep them apart? Amazing read with ups and downs and hot and cold. Can’t wait to read more for this author.
I absolutely love the writing style of Ms. Blake! Cover Me is a gritty read full of steam and love. I enjoy reading books about single moms and how they put their wayward lovers in their place and uplift them at the same time. Great read!
This is my first read by Joanna and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. Kat and Bruce’s story is a book you can’t put down once you start. Definitely recommended read!
Oh, Joanna Blake, you have written another great book!! Bruce and Katrina are an awesome couple with great chemistry and the story line is well written and keeps your interest from start to finish. I always love an older man/younger female couple. You get the slow burn to get to the good stuff, angst, misunderstandings and sexiness that makes one heck of a read. Can’t wait to see what Joanna has next for us!!
I received an ARC for an honest review.
Once again this author had made another hit. I really wasn’t sure how to feel about the H at first but he quickly grew on me. The h on the other hand I liked right away, you gotta give her a hand choir what stress been through.
This is a rockstar romance, which, I don’t usually read. But, I’m a one clicker when it comes to Joanna Blake, she is an awesome author! This is the story of Bruce & Kat. He’s an older rockstar with the looks of a cowboy, so, yup, sign me up! He lived the rocker lifestyle until some things happened that scared him straight (nope, won’t tell you what scared him, read the book). He now spends his days working out & being lonely. Bruce landed a Vegas residency gig & this is where Kat comes in. Kat is a single mom who moved back to California with her son & they are living with her mom. She’s a singer whose got a huge passion for music. Bruce sees her, hears her sing, & is a goner! Unfortunately, Kat thinks he just wants fun & doesn’t want a serious relationship. She has a lot going on in her life & is afraid to trust him. I recommend this book. Bruce & Kat are great characters and I really liked her mom who helped a lot in the background! I voluntarily read this book.
I’ve been following Joanna Blake’s work for a while now and I absolutely love everything she writes. We always get something different yet amazing from this author. I always look forward to her next book as soon as I finish reading and I try to wait patiently for until her next release. in this book, we meet Bruce who is lonely and who used to party a lot until he suffered an accident. When he meets Kat he tries to get close to her but she does not let him. I liked how Kat made him work for her I loved her character and how she was trying to provide the best for her sick son. Loved the epilogues.
,
I really enjoyed this story! Bruce is an older rockstar and he has grown tired of the usual rockstar life. Kat, a single mother, is a backup singer for him. He has set his sights on her and she is giving him a run for his money. I liked that she made him work hard for her. It was a really enjoyable read!
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done

This is a rock star romance where both characters are part of the band, with Kat being the new hire. I liked the story, and I thought Bruce was a pretty interesting guy, but I felt like Kat was a little bit of a mess with her back story. The chemistry was there, and I liked them together as a couple, but some things didn’t flow as well as I wanted them to. Still, I thought Kat was a good mom, and she did what she needed to do for Tommy.
Wow this book was amazingly written. Who doesn’t love a brooding hot rock star and a single mom. Trust me, the two combined are full of fabulous moments, sweet ones too and don’t forget those ones that make you laugh when they get feisty with one another. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t.
