An icy stretch of farmland becomes one hot property after its owner turns up murdered. Reporter Marzie Nowak must dodge a hungry vampire, face off with a sexy gypsy king, and rely on her new coven of witches to catch the killer! Between her job as the only reporter in town, her werewolf home renovation contractor, and her new coven of empty nested witches, Marzie Nowak has her hands full. When a … hands full. When a farmer is found dead, the suspects start piling up.
Meanwhile, the population of Widow’s Bay is getting more fang filled by the minute, with a wild vampire on the loose. Marzie and her friends want to ban together to save the town, but they don’t quite know how! That’s when The Crones step in to teach the new witches some old tricks and how to cast a few snazzy spells. Marzie and her snarky cat Agnes face mayhem, murder, and fifty shades of gray paint swatches in this follow up to Resting Witch Face.
Return to Widow’s Bay where the vampires are sexy, the werewolves are good with power tools, and the witches are trying to manage their hot flashes.

Another great mystery for Marzie to figure out. Now we have vampires in the mix and her and her new coven have to figure out how to deal with it. Her handsome wolf who is decoratiing her home is still in the pic, and of course her sassy cat Agnes.
As much as I enjoyed the first book in the series, book 2 is even better!
Coven Mitt is Rebecca Regnier’s second installment in her Widow’s Bay Series. Laughter and best buddies are all fun and games, until a rogue vampire is going around snacking on people and another, ancient vampire wants to take over the town. According to the remaining 3 DLC, the Distinguished Ladies Club needs a new influx of numbers and fast. Thirteen witches to be exact. Where are the small gang supposed to rustle up more witches? To complicate matters further, there has been another suspicious death. And no one can explain the low water levels at the murder site. Marzie has more than enough to keep her busy, but to keep her out of trouble–never!
Bk 2 Coven Mitt
Marzie and The Water Thief
If you are friend of Renee George’s I believe you could become a fan of Rebecca Regnier. Renee brings a host of characters that will keep you guessing as to what they’ll do next. She brings mystery, murder, Mayhem and talking pets or should I just say one pet Agnes.
In Willow Bay you will get a mix of witches, shifters in the form of bears and wolves and let’s not forget vampires too along with a host of others still appearing in this little community.
In book 2 Marzie is still adjusting to moving back to her hometown of Widows Bay and getting used to the fact that she has witch powers. Don’t get me wrong Marzie has issues acknowledging magic because she’s lived away for over twenty years.
She now has to contend with Grady the werewolf or the more politically correct term wolf shifter or Stephen the local vampire who rules over the selection of magical creatures now living in the town.
We also can’t forget the old crones the ladies of the DLC who provide the superior magic to keep all protected within the borders of the town. You will enjoy reading about all these characters some will keep you in stitches some will have you drooling but overall it’s a very well-written story to spike the reader’s imagination and the ability to solve crime.
I am seriously looking forward to the next book in this series
Marzie is back for another adventure. I really enjoy that Marzie is not some fresh faced youngster. She has life behind her, a set of friends that she is renewing bonds with, a new job that she is enthusiastically pursing. Oh, and a murder to report on. The story was fun and things kept buzzing along. There was a good amount of zippy humor and upbeat feeling to the entire story.
While this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone. The first should be read if you best want to understand how Marzie ended up juggling new coven, being back in the UP, new job and tackling all that comes with it.
