In the 5th installment of Christi Caldwell’s Lords of Honor series, find out why NYT Bestseller Mary Balogh calls Christi Caldwell: “A must read!” and why NYT Bestseller Tessa Dare says, “A Christi Caldwell book never fails to touch the heart!”Courting Poppy TidemoreHer name preceded her… her place in not-so-polite society. Of course, she didn’t help matters…with an infamous art lesson that left her name ruined. Now, Poppy’s only hope is to accept her sister’s invitation to live at the Paradise, the illustrious hotel owned by her brother-in-law. There she’ll be able to pursue her artistic studies without judgment. Except someone else at the Paradise knows Poppy, someone who used to occupy her girlish dreams: Lord Tristan. Thankfully, Poppy’s no longer that naïve little girl, moonstruck by the charming rogue. In fact, over the years, she and Tristan have become unlikely friends. So, there should be no problem living under the same roof…or at least, that’s what she keeps telling herself…
His reputation precluded him…
Scoundrel. Scapegrace. Soldier. That’s how he’s known…and not in that order. Tristan Poplar, now Baron Bolingbroke, has lost everything. Upon learning of his father’s dubious role in the disappearance of the rightful Maxwell heir he’s lost not only his title and wealth, but also his respectability. He’s determined to restore his honor at all costs. However, honor proves a tricky thing – as does self-restraint—the more time he spends with alluring Poppy Tidemore. His best course of action is to avoid her, but when Poppy presents Tristan with a legitimate offer he can’t refuse, both enter with clear heads and uninvolved hearts.
Except, the more time they spend together, their arrangement blossoms into something more. And when an unexpected opportunity comes along for Tristan to restore his name, he’ll have to decide which matters most: fighting for honor or fighting for Poppy’s love.

A magical ending to a wonderful series. Lady Poppy Tidemore, the youngest and last unwed, grew up with the scandals surrounding each of her 4 siblings. Honest and outspoken, Poppy is gifted with artistic talent – completely unrecognized and frowned upon in England. Because of a wager, Poppy is caught in a planned situation which ruins her. Add another notorious scandal to the Tidemores. Her options are to hid in the country or brazen it out in London by living in the hotel owned by her sister Penelope and her husband, Viscount Chatham. She is commissioned to paint murals in the suites. At the same time, Tristan Poplar, Earl of Maxwell, Poppy’s secret love for over 6 years, when he almost trampled her when she ran after her dog in the park, is also ruined. From that first meeting, a bond was formed by their mutual love of dogs. Tristan, a war hero, is a rogue with young sisters and a mother to support. A scandal comes to light hatched by his parents when he was young to do away with the rightful heir to the earldom. With his resurrection, Tristan is stripped of his earl’s title and reverts to that of baron – but more importantly, he loses all the financial gains he achieved plus a huge bill of compensation to the rightful earl. With both of them now living in the hotel, Poppy proposes a marriage of convenience – she can further her artistic studies and Tristan can have a season for his sisters. Poppy hopes that with time, Tristan will come to love her and against her family’s advice, they wed. But Tristan now shunned by all except his closets military friends seeks to restore his honor by rejoining the military, which sends him to Ireland just 2 weeks after their marriage. He tries to explain to Poppy his reason, but Poppy is heartbroken. How can they further a relationship countries apart? Poppy sees her infatuation with Tristan grow into a deep love – but that love is not enough to keep him. Regaining his honor taken by his parents’ plot is his goal. But what he will gain by society’s acceptance cannot compare to what he will lose personally – the love and joy of Poppy!! Both are focused on achieving the greatest gift that is everlasting – Love!! Beautiful and heart-touching story of how a bond grew between a school girl and a rogue – first with common likes, friendship, and honesty. The Tidemores are the Best!
Poppy Tidemore met Tristan Poplar when she was rescued from being run over by a horse in Hyde Park. Her sister was not-so-secretly in love with the other rider, Christian Villiers. Poppy was the youngest Tidemore girl, free-spirited, carefree, and honest without guile. Over the years Tristan and Poppy developed a close friendship. He was a scoundrel but she fell in love with him.
Tristan had also fought in the war alongside Christian and Derek, characters in previous books. His strong sense of honor was one of the things Poppy admired most. He suffered a tragic loss because of prior actions by his parents, loss with consequences that fell to him.
The characters in this book are wonderful, with a deep and honest relationship. It was beautiful watching Poppy grow into a woman. I like the way the characters’ thoughts are inserted at different times, especially during conversations. The book is about honor and choices and love.
I also listened to the audio book, narrated by Tim Campbell. His voices are clear and I enjoyed it.
I was so happy & sad to hear that Poppy & Tristan’s story was ready to read! Happy as I have read the whole series & loved all the siblings & their new spouses but sad knowing this is the final chapter in the Tidemore family saga.
Tristan has been stripped of his title of Earl of Maxwell, all the money & properties also & he is now Baron Bolingbroke with tremendous debt & his mother & two sisters to support. Tristan sends his family to the country & his best friend’s wife, Prudence (Poppy’s sister) has invited him to stay at The Paradise Hotel…En suite…Duration of Stay—Indefinite.
Caldwell, Christi. Courting Poppy Tidemore (Lords of Honor Book 5) . Kindle Edition. Tristan a place, to stay with no time limit, at another sister’s hotel until he get back on his feet.
Following is her siblings footsteps, Poppy manages to be compromised – although innocent, the Ton does not see it that way & she is shipped off to live with her sister, Penelope & brother-in-law, Ryker in their newly acquired hotel they are renovating. They ask Poppy to re-decorate the hotel with her murals that should would paint, etc. & she is thrilled with the opportunity.
Tristan & Poppy run in to each & share old memories of growing up fishing, riding, etc. – she fell in love with him when she was just a girl but knowing nothing would ever come between them, she went on with her life but now meeting him again……….she feels those butterflies in her stomach. Tristan has always cared for her but could never take advantage of his friend’s younger sister – but just rekindling their friendship has his desire kicking in again & now that he has lost everything. he must not be tempted as he has nothing to offer her.
The journey they take is a bumpy, romantic, forces them to look at their strengths & embrace them. Christi always gets me so involved with the lives of the characters in her books & I feel all the emotions – this was another one of those. It was so much fun to have all the Tidemore’s together with their spouses to catch up on what had been going on in their lives since we last visited them.
I highly recommend this book & the whole series to anyone who loves romance, close family ties, emotional ups & downs & happily ever afters! I thinks the only negative I have that kept me from the 5 star rating is the lack of finality on Poppy & Tristan’s story – was the take over by Northrop to claim the Maxwell title true/proven, how did they pay back the 55,000 pound debt or did Tristan have to go to debtor’s prison – there was no finality in this & Tristan could have kept this in the courts for years while trying to find out the truth & the legality of the demand of the 55000 pounds – I just wished there would have been an epilogue as I don’t understand how they could have gone off to enjoy their HEA with all the problems hanging over their heads.
Not as exciting or as interesting as others in this series. I felt that it just ran out of steam.
I enjoy reading Christie Caldwell books. She is one of my favorite authors.
Christi Caldwell is my favorite Historical romance author. I have a new favorite book of her’s. Courting Poppy Tidemore is #5 in Her Lords of Honor series. I have been waiting for Poppy Tidemore’s book since we were first introduced to the Tidemore family, and Poppy was still a girl. Her story didn’t disappoint. Tristan Poplar, Earl of Maxwell to Baron of Bolingbroke was perfect for her. Just a great, noble, honorable guy. I adored them both. As usual, Ms. Caldwell had me smiling and sighing in parts, and crying in others. Perfection!
Courting Poppy Tidemore by Christi Caldwell
Lords of Honor Series Book Five
Poppy Tidemore is the youngest and last of the Tidemore girls. Her three older sisters had all caused a scandal of some sort and her brother, Jonathan Sinclair…known as Sin…had lived his nickname until he was tamed by the girls’ governess. Which of course, also caused a scandal. And now, Poppy has followed in that tradition…just in a less traditional way.
Tristan Poplar, Baron Bolingbroke’s life has taken a bad turn. Very bad. Everything he’d thought he’d known of his life is shown false. He isn’t even who he’d thought he was. And…he’s lost everything and has to find a way to continue to care for his mother and two sisters who’ve yet to marry. He was known as a rogue…now he’s known as something much worse.
The reader can first meet Tristan in; Captivated by a Lady’s Charm, Lord of Honor Series Book Two, the story is about his best friend, Christian, and Poppy’s sister Prudence.

You can’t go wrong in Christi Caldwell’s worlds. Haven’t read a bad one yet. Loved the characters and the plot. I love the world she has created and enjoy seeing characters from other books. I never do a synopsis because you just need to buy the book and read it for yourself.
If you have read any of the Tidemore series, then you would know that the Tidemore’s always seems to be in the center of scandal! And now there was only Poppy left, there was a bet on the books that is wasn’t a matter of IF Poppy was going to be embroiled in a scandal, but when!
But we are getting ahead of ourselves because the beginning of this book doesn’t start out in a gentleman’s club! But over two years earlier in a quiet room at a ball, where Tristan Poplar, The Earl of Maxwell comes across a young woman crying, which is something he didn’t like! But it was even worse than he thought! As it was the host’s sisters-in-law that was upset, Lady Poppy Tidemore.
But this was a side to Poppy that Tristan had never seen before! The vulnerability was clear on her face, as well as the defeat! This was not the Poppy that he chatted so well with! Determined to find out what was wrong, he nearly caused her to ruin herself! But by the end of that night, a pact was made that one of them had forgotten instantly! And the other thought it would never be needed.
But two and a half years later, everything had changed in their world, and the pact seems like the only solution!
This book is magnificent! Truly stunning! Poppy’s story was always going to be a tricky one for the author to write, as many of the readers have placed Poppy onto a pedestal, but Author Christi Caldwell has truly succeeded in all expectations of what this book would be (in my humble opinion) and has knocked it out of the park!
Courting Poppy Tidemore is book 5 in The Lords of Honor Series by Christi Caldwell. I really enjoyed this book. I like how Caldwell writes about complex characters that are relatable. Poppy is one of my favorite heroines. She has made appearances as a young girl in earlier books. Now she is all grown up and causing scandals wherever she goes. Tristan is the amazing hero in this love story. He also appears as a secondary character in a previous book. I liked his integrity and his honesty in the face of great personal loss. Can’t wait to read the next one.
Just when I think Christi Caldwell cannot outdo her previous story in pops a whirlwind known as Poppy Tidemore and Ms. Caldwell proves me wrong.
Poppy Tidemore, the last single sibling of the notorious Tidemores. Poppy Tidemore – energetic, forthright, make your head spin Poppy Tidemore.
Tristan Poplar, Baron Bolingbroke, has his own scandal that just may rival that of the TIdemores. When things come to light Tristan loses everything he holds dear.
Family and friends work to help the two with their respective dilemmas but it may be their outrageous arrangement that helps them most of all.
Courting Poppy Tidemore had me laughing, crying, and staying up way past my bedtime to finish. Definitely one of Ms. Caldwell’s finest stories to date.
Pffff finally I have reached my weekend goal, I have read the three released books I wanted plus the unsuspected one I found back in my kindle shelves.
Actually I have only read very few Mrs Christi Caldwell work, but each read has brought its cheer of excitement, fun and heartache.
I have read none of the previous books in this series so everybody was new to me, but I took time to read the three extra bonus scenes which introduced Poppy and Tristan to me.
There is no secret to say they are incredible characters, honorable and loyal to the fault. Over time they came to share a strong friendship, and probably something more as it lets them free to share their deeper feelings and emotions together when they can’t tell them to the others.
They have flaws, and the one which can torn them apart is their pride. They accept who the other is, but they also must do things their way.
Tristan wants to restore his name’s honor but what is honor when it is lived alone. Has it enough value to have to cost the love of his life.
And Poppy who lives through her art, can’t she face to see it judged, or does she prefer to play it safe and hide in the edges, never exploring her capacities.
The 2/3 of their journey was light despite their scandals issues, it was how their unusual relationship evolved to a friendship to a marriage of convenience. But the last part had me on edge, arching for Poppy, hooraying when she decided to reach her dream, applauding because she stood for her even when arching and cheering as the last scene unfold as a revised flashback.
I felt sad and sorry for Tristan too but he was the one who made the decision to estrange himself from his wife, but he won me back when he finally understood that when things have a cost, he must be certain of the price he was ready to pay for.
Was honor and pride more valuable than love.
A wonderful tale of finding the true meaning of love and its worth.
This has been a story a long time in the making. Poppy is the last of the Tidemores to marry, we have had to wait until she has grown up a bit to read about her and her hero. As an avid follower of all Christi’s stories I held out hope that Tristan would be her hero and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. They met when Poppy was just a girl, where she held him in her heart always wishing he would see her as more than a sister. Now their scandals have brought them together at the newly opened Paradise Hotel. Tristan is trying to restore his fortunes and honor, Poppy is trying to find her place in the world. They each help each other find a place though not without a few bumps in the road. I loved this whole book even though it took my emotions on a rollercoaster. I cannot recommend this book enough.
