Well, this was the final story in the series! Sweet, shy Daisy finally marries her dream guy, but her marriage is anything BUT a dream!
I enjoyed the story but the insecurities and lack of communication gets a bit frustrating to listen to over and over!
The narrator did a great job but a few times I couldn’t identify who was speaking.
Can they give each other a chance to fall in love?
Wow, am I really at the end of the Seven Brides Of South Dakota series? I know I missed book four but it’s a bit strange to be saying goodbye to the Arnsby sisters after spending so many hours listening to their stories. I keep thinking I should be starting the next book soon but…
I really think Courting In Custer was a great way to finish this historical romance series from author Kari Trumbo. It had all of the best elements of the previous books, including that fun dash of suspense, but it was still every bit Daisy’s story. Well, Daisy and that lovable idiot Elias.
If there’s one that stood out to me in Courting In Custer, it’s how easily little things like off-hand comments overheard in childhood can scar a person and continue to damage years later as we are unable to let them go. Kinda makes you think twice about what you say, doesn’t it?
This is the second book in the series with the different narrator from the 5 previous titles. While, I think she does a great job bringing Kari Trumbo’s novel to life, I still think her voice is a trifle mature for the characters. Otherwise the production quality is good and the sound excellent. I’d easily recommend the entire Seven Brides Of South Dakota series for lovers of audiobooks and historical romance.

I purchased the novel 7 Brides of South Dakota: Courting in Custer book 7 by Kari Trumbo and this review was given freely.
A sweet second chance at romance novel set around the turn of the 20th century. Elias returns as a lawyer to fulfill a 7 year old pact and fulfill the secret longings he has for the youngest Arnsby sister Daisy, who is now the Custer Court Reporter. Suspenseful and action packed, this novel expresses not only the fear of intimacy/death in childbirth, the difficulty of merging lives post marriage, but also the dilemma of women working after marriage.

Turn of the Century Love in South Dakota
This is an interesting romance that takes place at the turn of the last century when cars were new. As there are many references to other family members, I am assuming that this is part of a series. It does stand alone well. There are several story lines occurring in the book. The romance is based on the belief in ridiculous stories that no attorney could possibly believe. My grandmother is of this era and region and would have never believed any of that smack. The other working plot is a criminal one that is a bit convoluted and equally difficult to believe. While an interesting read, it does nothing to make me want to read the rest of the series. I might try out another of this author’s works. I received this ARC book for free and this is my honest opinion.
