Book 1 of the Texas Sweethearts series finds us with Sunny Carmichael in LA alone in her luxurious condo with her dog Simba as company. Her fiancee has just dumped her. As she’s sitting there, her mother calls. She tells her that the small town hero (and ex-boyfriend) is in trouble. Some of his cattle have been dying very suspiciously, could Sunny (who is a very renowned vet) come help? Sunny does not want to. See, Jack broke her heart ten years ago when they were dating very seriously which is why she left the town to follow her dreams and build her career as a vet. She finally agrees and upon seeing Jack again for the first time, it is noticeable that their feelings for each other are not gone. They may have moved on with their lives but they are still soul mates. A dance around their feeling and the mystery of the dead cattle keeps them on their toes. This is a great cowboy read and it is not even THAT long so I do highly recommend.
Beautiful brilliant story!
Lady vet comes to Texas to find cause of dying cattle. She reconnects with old love and stays in Texas.
Good cowboy story about a man who hurt a woman who a decade later returned home at the urging of her mother that he needs help and she learns what happened was a mistake and their love for one another is still alive
A sweet second chance romance.
Can’t go wrong with any Mindy Neff books a must read author.
A bit of a surprise at the end
First book I have read by this author, I really enjoyed it. Very good read.
Enjoyed reading this book. Characters were totally believable and the storyline held my attention from beginning to end. Enjoyed it so much I ordered the next book in the series.
Nice afternoon escape
I own series and loved it and the characters.
Well written, romantic, funny, page turner. Impressive.
A wonderful sweet romance! I enjoyed the entire storyline.
I loved this book so much that I bought the other three books in this series. Each book focuses on one of the four brothers. I truly wish there had been more brothers!!!
I liked how the characters worked with each other. I had a bad time putting it down.
Enjoyable story. Mindy Neff stories are very good.
I really enjoyed this first in the series. I like how you got to suspect some things but it took a nice pace at which to develop some depth and drama or take a twist before you found out the truth of the situation.
Enjoyable characters… which will each have their own stories in this series.
Not too much step by step sex and easily skipped for those that like really clean.
I really enjoyed this book. The country sayings was great. I’ve heard some of them, but some others were new to me. I loved the story you told. Things do happen for a reason. Just to get you where you need to be. Sometimes is really hard. People think they want to go back in time to change something. But if they do, it can change other stuff in your life that mean more to you. Like your child or other things. Can’t wait to read the next book.
I really enjoyed this book. This is the first book I have read by this writer, and I am looking forward to book 2 in the series.
Jack and Sunny’s dialogue was funny, a little snarky, and often sweet. All of the characters were well written and their very distinct personalities were obvious, even the creepy one. Tori was a sweetheart, and the one scene was just heartbreaking.
Romance, a steamy scene or two (not too explicit), friend, loyalty, love, and a touch of mystery. Who could ask for more? I devoured this first book and it left me with a smile. You are definitely left with a HEA. The only thing that could have made it any better was an epilogue.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
The characters were well realized.
It’s the type of story where no one has faults. They live in Mayberry and it’s a wonderful place where nothing bad happens. I like her friends personalities and physical traits better. Her naturally curly hair, thinness, and tininess are the only physical characteristics I remember. She’s too good to be true. She doesn’t have a selfish bone in her body and is actually really smart. Not tell me she’s smart then show me she’s dumber than dirt, but she solved the problem. It was okay.
