Abandoned. Unwanted. Orphan. In a time of war between mankind and fae, no one ventures outside of the safety of the human kingdom. Abandoned in the furthest corner of Amnestia, in a convent long forgotten by most, Cress grows up thinking she’s nothing more than a human of horrendous skill and grace. One moment, the quiet countryside of Amnestia where she’s been raised her whole life is devoid of … whole life is devoid of any danger and the next, it’s there. Powered by a strange magical spell, a castle appears seemingly from nowhere. Ruled by a court of fae few humans had ever laid eyes on and lived to tell the tale, Cress stumbles right into the center of three royal princes. There, she discovers that perhaps she’s not a human at all, but a changeling–a fae child left behind in the ancient tradition of an extinct court.
In the face of possible execution, she better hope she’s a fae, because the worst thing a girl can be in the court of crimson is human.

Court of Crimson was a great read. The story has good pacing and an interesting premise; I really liked the changeling angle thrown in there.
I hope the next book has a bit more character development. The archetypes are a little stereotypical, and I don’t feel as if I got to know enough about the characters to be truly invested in their fates, with the exception of Cress.
I will definitely be on the lookout for the next book. If you like fae tales (and don’t mind a few f-words thrown in) this is well worth your time.
This was a unexpected pleasure because I went into thinking I had not read either one of these authors but come to realize I had read one of them and their novel. I found I could easily get into this one and go to this world with me being a human I realize there is danger. You are given a tale of a girl whom thought one way but will be shown something else. Cress is one we follow to see where it all takes her at times on edge with what is all around. Whom also catches your attention is the 3 princes. When they are together we are goners with their dialogue and chemistry. Being that this is the first one we are only really given a taste with you being left wanting more.
*Spoiler Alert*
Fae & Humans are at war and have been for a long time so they each have long held grievances against each other. Orphan Cress (FMC) has been brought up by nuns in the human world but one night changes her whole perspective on her life. Dropping her into the grasp of Fae Lords – Roan, Orion and Sorrell. Giving her way more complications than she can handle. I loved Cress. Shes witty, funny, a bit ditzy but also smart too (yeah i know its quite a combination). This book is a flaming great read and that ending floored me. Dying for the next book
This is book 1 in the Twisted Fae series. This was a great start for the series. I loved the storyline and characters. Both are well written and keep your attention. I’m looking forward to reading the next book. I recommend reading.

You know this book actually shocked me a little. I read a lot of books so I am normally pretty good at picking out what’s going to happen in the future and the plot lines and everything. But on this book I actually had some trouble. She was actually able to shock me with an idea that I hadn’t even considered. Any author that can make a book that interests me so much that I am incorrect in my own assumptions is always someone I will continue to read.
Ok that cover is to die for!!! I love this book!! It is so well written!! The character development is fantastic! It’s a real page turner and I can not wait for book 2!!!!!
Wow what an amazing book? I love reading about faes and this one does not disappoint. You have action, adventure, smexy times, and an mc who will not back down. She knows that there is more to life than that of the orphanage which happens to be runned by nuns. They are nasty ladies by the way. So when she ends up somewhere she is not makes you wonder why? Right? Well Orion, Sorrell and Roan find her and this does not go well. They can smell that she is human but something else. What else could that be? Well you also have another girl who does not wants Cress around at all. However, some things are discovered and things change. So what is up with the hot and cold feelings from the guys. So much more happens but you need to read and find out. You will not be disappointed. I loved every word and I can not wait to read the next book.

I loved this book. It was a hoot to read and addicting. It was a different take on the Fae and hard to put down. I loved Cress and the Princes. Their interactions were outright funny. The rest of the characters were fun and fit the story well. I kept reading just to see what scene would happen next and how loud I would laugh or groan. Many were hot but not nasty. The tidbits of life and court and what might be next in the series was cool too. Just a well written story that kept me reading and wanting to read more in the series.
Lucinda Dark & Helen Scott make a great co-writing team! The FMC Cress is a great character, she goes through a lot of life changing experiences in a very short period of time. The 3 Fae princes are broody & sexy as sin & the group dynamic is fantastic, they have really great chemistry. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Humans and Fae are at war and times are dangerous. Cress has been hidden in a convent where she grew up never feeling like she belonged there. With her 21st birthday almost here, Cress will have a decision to make about her future. Will she take her vows and remain with the nuns or make an attempt to live a whole new life outside of the convent?
Then a castle suddenly appears out of nowhere ruled by a court of Fae. Cress ends up surrounded by the three royal princes, Roan, Orion, and Sorrell. The Fae princes don’t believe she is human, and the connection she begins to feel draws her to them. Her survival just may depend on them! Grab your copy and start this new adventure from its beginning! It very much looks like the reader will be swept up in an exciting story as Cress tried to decide what to do next!
What a fantastic read and a great start for a new series. I will admit that it did take awhile for the story to take speed but when it did that’s when things start to get interesting. Plenty of intrigue, drama, a bit of mystery some steamy romance that keep you hook from beginning to end. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read so looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. ** 3.5 stars **
I’m a fan of both of these authors and was looking forward to the pair. It’s a fun storyline that immediately gets into it and continues to lead you on a fast, action-filled ride. That being said, it can get a little confusing at times. There is very little background or history in the world-building, so I don’t know why the Fae and humans are at war. I’m still a little confused about what all happened when Cress was hit by the three princes magic and I’m confused why Sorrel dislikes Cress. It’s only the first book and I know there is time for clarification on the other books, but the way the presentation of the story is going it leaves more confusion and doubt than anticipation and excitement for answers to come in the next book. I’ll definitely read the next book and hope for the best.

A great start to a new series. There is plenty of intrigue and steamy fae men from the courts to keep you turning the pages.
How to choose?
Look out Sarah J. Maas this series is going to blow you away. I hate to compare this book to Maas’s because it’s so much better. I love that Cress isn’t going to “become” something. She is learning who she is but not giving anything up at the same time. And the love triangle thing is so much better. I couldn’t put this book down and read straight through. I can’t wait for the next book.
These two authors have come together to take us on a wild new ride in the world of Fae. In the Twisted Fae series, humans and Fae are aware of each other. That’s because they are at war. Humans fear the Fae and Fae hate the humans. Cress has grown up in a convent where she has never felt like she belonged. While grateful to be taken in and given food and shelter, she is ready for her escape. She knows convent life will not be her forever. She’s waiting for her birthday when she knows her life will change. She just never thought it would change in the way that it does.
For someone who has never experienced the Fae in anything but stories, Cress has no idea what to do when she finds herself in a castle full of them. Especially when three fae princes think she might be more than a mere human. She is taken by surprise with the way they act and the things they find acceptable. While she knows she should fear for her life, and in some ways she does, she also feels a connection she can’t explain. She loves to push their buttons, even when she shouldn’t. She’s hilariously inappropriate at times.
With this being the first book in the series, I think the authors did a great job of keeping an even balance. We got to know about our characters and have their story while still learning about this new world we are in. We had plenty of action, suspense, twists and some romance. We have our bad guys that we love and our one that we love to hate. This book definitely had my attention all the way through. Now the end, I don’t think I would call that a cliffhanger really. Yes we have a pivotal moment and dramatic ending but it’s just leading us into the next book. I for one can’t wait to see what these two authors give us in the Court of Frost. Bring it ladies!
Received ARC from BookSprout for Honest Review
I Give this Book a 3.5-4/5 Star Rating, Listing as 4.
Cliffhanger(?): Yes.
Heat: 3.5 maybe 4ish?/5, I found a few of the wordings to be repetitive, from kissing to be being truly intimate.
Romance/Affection: 3-3.5/5
Drama: 4/5
Suspense: 3.5-4/5
No Real Spoilers.
The beginning was a bit hard to click with for me, I found it rather one note/stagnant for some reason.
After the guys appeared into the book, it flowed much better, and was much more entertaining.
I am very much interested in reading the Next Book to see what happens next.
This was an incredible read, that once I started I could not put it down. It moved along at a great speed for reading making it a comfortable read, has interesting characters that you cannot get enough of and want to learn more about and a story that will keep you reading till the very last page. This is a must read, no doubt about it.
Cress is and orphaned 20 year old who has lived in an orphanage since she was a baby. The orphanage is run by nuns. As her 21st birthday approaches, Cress has to decide to take her vows and stay with the nunnery, or brave the world surrounding her. The world is in a war of humans vs Fae. On the night if her 21st birthday she hears a deafening noise that cause her ears to bleed. The story continues to fin out what is causing the noise. The book leaves off on a bit of cliff hanger. It’ll keep you turning pages from start to finish.
