Hunter Mackenney doesn’t have time for romance, preferring to focus on his farm and droving lifestyle; plus leaving the pain of romance gone wrong in the past. When the mysterious and beautiful Savannah Galison turns up unexpectedly in his rundown farmhouse, Hunter finds himself wanting to know her secrets and maybe also wanting a whole lot more. They both have traumatic pasts that throw the … small country town of Ridgehope into turmoil when their paths collide.
Will these secrets hinder them or bring them together?

Heartache, Angst, Love, Shock – This is all the emotions you experience in this book. It is not like her normal books, but I absolutely loved it. Unputdownable good! It has everything I love, small town vibe, farm life, amazing characters and a great storyline. I was living there in Ridgehope with all its inhabitants. I felt like I was part of their community, their lives.
I 100% recommend this book. Well done on another great novel Caz!
I loved this book and storyline, the relationship between Hunter and Savanah. This book had a lot a emotions in it, their past play a big role in their story. I am looking forward to reading more from this series and author.

I really enjoyed this. The story is intriguing, sweet, and had some suspense and action that kept me glued to the pages. It touched on domestic violence and sexual assault.
My heart went out to Savannah and everything she went through. Her story packs a punch. The lack of communication bothered me, but was also understandable. I just wanted her to speak up sooner, but again I get why she didn’t. She’s strong though and incredibly sweet.
Hunter is so darn sweet! His mother is the cutest and shone every time she popped up. I liked meeting the other characters and getting a glimpse of their POV, it felt like i got a more rounded view and I’m already loving Quentin.
I’m really curious about the family secret and can’t wait for the next stories to come.
Country Secrets is a fantastic start to The MacKenney Saga, and I’m sure we will get more saga with each story! This story had secrets, mystery and suspense! Loved the small town vibe that Ridgehope had! Loved the other characters looking forward to getting to know them more, Blitz the dog was adorable! Felt so much for Savannah for what she endured and Hunter is sweet, sexy with a heart of gold! So l don’t want to give away any spoilers about whether Savannah & Hunter make it, l hope you will pick this story up and read it! (less)
This is the exact moment you know you’re reading a great novel; When you’re so engrossed your knuckles are white while holding the kindle so tightly because all the feelings hitting you are just that extraordinary. This was the result of reading Country Secrets by Caz May.
I can’t even contain how excited I was to have finished this!
Hunter MacKenney would rather put all of his focus on his farm rather than dwell on the hurt the past has caused him.
So when a mysterious, albeit attractive, woman appears in his farmhouse he can’t help but be drawn to her.
With the unknown in a small country town, will life’s events bring them together or send them on their separate ways?
I love the vibe the small town of Ridgehope gave, the mix of characters, the drama, suspense and mystery along the way. I found myself so caught up in it all, more times than I can recall.
Keeping in mind this has some trigger warnings and may not be for everyone,
I still recommend this.
First, this book contains a few triggers readers should be warned about. If you are triggered by sexual assault and domestic violence, please know this is a theme in the story. It is not the whole story, but does play a significant part especially towards the end.
I enjoyed the story, but it took a bit for me to become fully invested. The beginning chapters were slow for me, especially with the lack of full interaction between the characters. Savannah, the female lead, was mute due to the trauma she had endured. The story starts out with a punch, but slows once she wakes and refuses to speak.
Hunter, your swoony cowboy lead, was patient & kind wanting falling for a girl he had never met and wouldn’t converse with him. He persisted and the love story begins to evolve. A love at first sight story filled with SO MUCH drama & tragedy.
I really enjoyed the multiple POV Caz wrote from. You were able to understand more of the story and the motivations of the different characters. Due to the multiple POV, the secondary characters came to life.
I was a little disappointed at the end when a family secret was never fully explained until I saw there will be book 2 of the Mackenney Family Saga. The secret continues….
