I had it all.Country music’s bad boy renegade. Success, women, money. The name Walker Holcomb meant something.I was on top of the world. It was a damn long way to fall.My third album tanked, and I looked for answers in a whiskey bottle.I went from the top of every sexiest man list to the butt of every joke on late night.Only thing in worse shape than me is the family farm.Old place is as ramshackle … than me is the family farm.
Old place is as ramshackle and beat up as I am—another damned lost cause.
Until I open my screen door one day and find her on my front porch.
Luscious and fiery.
Stubborn as hell.
Irresistible.
Nothing’s had me this fired up in a long time.
She makes me crazy.
I want to shout and cuss at her.
I want to get my hands on that body.
Part of me wants to throw her off my porch, tell her to keep walking till she crosses the property line.
The rest of me wants to back her up against the rail and hike up her skirt.
Even bloodshot eyes can see she’s just what I’ve been waiting for.

This book has it all; success, failure, great Mom, terrific little girl, and, romance to enjoy. It’s an adult read with sensual scenes written into the story-line. With a strong-willed Mom, Ellen and her daughter, Kayleigh, they make a dynamic and energetic duo when it comes to home, school, and job. Then they meet Walker the singing songwriter that had hit on bad times. It’s all a story that will make you smile as you read, laugh when Kayleigh takes over and cry when things go wrong. I loved this book and look forward to more from this author.
Walker, a country singer, had it all until his last album tanked. Humiliated he heads back to his family farm that’s doing about as good as his singing career is. When Ellen an event planner for the local 4th of July celebration shows up on his doorstep asking if Walker can perform at the celebration, sparks are ignited. Ellen shows up at the right time and she’s perfect for him. Loved these two together. Great story filled with angst, romance, steam and a great HEA. Get the Kleenex ready because you might even shed a few tears.
This storyline was beautifully written with characters that were very likable, loveable, believable and very engaging! Ellen and Walker belonged together and the chemistry between them was palpable which kept me totally captivated until the very last page was turned!
Such a beautiful story. Full of trust and healing.
Walker and Ellen worked so well together. A lot of push and pull from both sides made them better together.

Walker was at the top of his stardom but a few bad moves and then he is now a drunken, disgruntled ex-famous country singer. While on his family farm, he meets Ellen who is an event planner and wants Walker to play at the local July 4th celebration. Ellen trying to talk Walker into performing but he lacked the confidence in himself. Will he come to realize that his joy of performing and his love of music will be enough to get him back on his feet. Excellent interaction between Ellen and Walker which gave the reader insight into both of them.

This is an exceptional read, so much so that I have this silly grin on my face while writing this review! A well-deserved 5 star! The story is well written, compelling, emotionally deep, and I felt like I was right there watching as all unfold. The storyline is consistent, funny, exciting, and there is a great pace from scene to scene. I was totally taken in with the sweetness and genuineness of the main characters; they are loveable and relatable; the chemistry between them is instant, potent, HOT, and undeniable. The supporting characters especially the adorable Kayleigh add even more excitement to this amazing book. This story grabs your attention from the start and keeps it until the end … you will find yourself completely engrossed in the riveting storyline. Love the ending (I was left wanting more) and look forward to reading more from this author. Definitely recommended.

Fantastic love
Failed country artist is back on his family ranch. There is a lady sitting on his front porch. She is apparently the answer to his problems. Now he just needs to put down the bottle to listen to the answers. This book takes you an emotional rollercoaster. There are highs and lows throughout the book. The power of love is evident in this book. The characters were great and relatable. The story flowed smoothly. The book is beautifully written. This is one of my favorite books by Kate Swain so far. Amazing, amazing read. Grab this book, some Kleenexes, and curl up and enjoy this book.

Beautiful, poetic and charming…this story is a country song itself. Walker, the disgraced country singer that wallows in his whiskey because he can not get past his sudden misfortune is blindsided by the determined, strong and passionate Ellen, an event planner that has no idea what fate has in store for her as she knocks on Walker’s front door.
I love how the story progresses in a natural manner and the relationship between Walker and Ellen is passionate and comforting when neither of them were expecting it. Then, add Kayleigh, Ellen’s seven year old daughter into the mix and the sweetness factor escalates to the point of epic proportions. The drama of Walker’s career is at the center of the story and the mix of emotions that goes along with being in the spotlight, not just Walker but, Ellen and Kayleigh as well, takes it toll and makes their road a bit bumpy. I really, really like the decisions Walker makes and the happy ending that they all find.

This is my first book by Kate and I loved it. Couldn’t put it down. Walker was a country music star until he was forced to make changes to his third album and it bombed and so did his career. Now he wants nothing to do with music or the public, but Ellen is planning their towns July 4th celebration and wants him to play during it. Not only for entertainment but because she sees something in him that she thinks he needs and she wants to help. Now convincing him is not easy and Ellen needs to spend more time with him and she finds she wants that time as much as she wants to hear him play again. He is her daughters Kayleigh’s favorite artist and she wants to meet him too, but can Ellen protect their hearts after spending so much time with Walker neither of them want the time to end.

I really enjoyed this story, the storyline is sweet and fast-paced. The characters are amazingly likable and I loved the interaction between Walker and Ellen, little Kayleigh was the absolute best.
A new Author to me and it looks like she is fairly new to putting out books. A well written story that kept me turning pages it has a very good storyline and the story flowed smoothly across the pages. Walker Holcomb is a washed-up singer who meets Ellen Timms and her daughter Kayleigh, I enjoyed reading their story. I will be watching to see what this Author puts out next. This was just okay read for me.
It started good, a bit slow but still ok. But as the story progressed, it never really captured my attention completely. I would find myself reading a couple of chapters and then switch to read something else. I finished it but it took me a lot more than just a couple of hours.
I liked the epilogue, it was sweet and heartwarming and it tied up everything nicely. But overall story wasn’t really as enjoyable as I was hoping for.

Kate Swain is a new author for me, but based on her Country Love, I’m promising myself that we will become well acquainted. I really only downloaded this book because I’m a fan of country music and like stories I combing sexy musicians. I’m glad I got it though after this novel truly is, quite simply, wonderful. Yes it’s a romance with a country star (even if disgraced) but Ellen and Walker’s story is so much more. Complex characters and a plot line that is both complicated and easy to follow. A truly powerful romance, this tale had just what I wanted and was well written and with a great plot. Frankly, but for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed, I could go on and on with praises – the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend.
Rise from hell
Good romance in the world of country and music in general that tells how a country singer became hasbeen because of his old label that had forced him to an improbable album, thus destroying his career, will gently get by to the obtination of a single mother, her daughter, their love and support.
The story is well written and although I do not particularly like country music, I liked the story.
Ellen, a single mother and event organizer, needs an artist for July 4th. She wants to ask Walker, the local country star who was humiliated after a failed album 4 years ago. He has become an alcoholic and does not want to come back in the spotlight because of the way the media had fun of him. However, after rejecting her project, Walker begins to get closer to Ellen and, for her part, she helps him to rebuild.

This story is well written and I really enjoyed it! I enjoyed the caracters and the scenery. It is a romance, it was funny, a little sad at times but also a strong story about not giving up and sometimes we just need the right people or person believing in us!

This is a new author for me but the book blurb, what girl can resist a cowboy. Walker was a country music star until his teamed up with the wrong people and released a third album that pretty much tanked his career. Walker heads back to the family farm to lick his wounds and loses himself in a bottle of whisky. This is how Ellen finds him when she goes out to the farm to ask him if he will provide the music for the local hometown parade for the Fourth of July. Ellen does not receive a warm welcome or response from Walker but she is a single mom and she is used to patience and perseverance. As an event planner, she needs this event to be successful to excel her career. Ellen and her daughter, Kayleigh may be just what Walker needs to get himself refocused and back into the land of the living again. This is not a smooth road for Walker or Ellen who find themselves to be challenged in more ways then one. But can they make the right choices and do they pay off to a HEA? A great book to curl up with to read to find out. Enjoy!

7 out of 5 STARS
What an excellent book! I enjoyed every single chapter from start to finish. I’ve read books written by Kate Swain before, so I wasn’t surprised. But I was thrilled at how well this story line flowed. The characters are not only well thought out but engaging and downright loveable–even when they aren’t. While the main characters carry the story there are supporting characters that do a great deal to enhance the story line as well. For me that makes it seem like a ‘fuller’ more true to life experience.
This story has everything I like in a good read. It has laughter, tears, angst, ups and downs, a bit of heat, and an HEA. This book was a one sitting read for me. Once I started reading, I did not want to put it down. When I was done, I did not want it to end. Now, that’s a great book!
