My name is Bizzy Baker, and I can read minds—not every mind, not every time but most of the time and believe me when I say it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.
Bizzy Baker runs the Country Cottage Inn, has the ability to pry into the darkest recesses of both the human and animal mind, and has just stumbled upon a body. With the help of her kitten, Fish, a mutt named Sherlock Bones and an ornery yet dangerously good looking homicide detective, Bizzy is determined to find the killer.
A laugh out loud cozy mystery by New York Times Bestseller Addison Moore and her partner in cozy crime, USA TODAY Bestseller Bellamy Bloom.
Cider Cove, Maine is the premier destination for fun and relaxation. But when a body turns up, it’s the premier destination for murder.
Bow Wow Big House (Country Cottage Mysteries 4) A doggie fashion show is afoot at the local shelter and hopefully each cute pooch will find a home to call their own. I’ve been enlisted to help out with the endeavor and I’m more than happy to do it. But trouble seems to follow me wherever I go and that body I stumbled upon quickly complicates everything. Not to mention a certain someone is determined to out my ability to read minds—and this time, they just might succeed.
Murder Bites (Country Cottage Mysteries 5) Valentine’s Day is coming right up and the Country Cottage Inn is playing host to a bevy of romantic shenanigans. The very first love-inspired event on the agenda is a night for singles to mingle. But that mass blind date with cupid goes horribly awry when one of the hosts ends up dead as a heart-shaped doornail. It certainly doesn’t make things better when I’m found holding the murder weapon—because as any good homicide detective knows, that puts me right at the top of the suspect list.
Felines and Fatalities (Country Cottage Mysteries 6) A bake-off for senior citizens is being held at the inn and baker Lottie Lemon has arrived as one of the judges. But when someone turns up dead, accompanied by a mysterious riddle, both Lottie and I are determined to find the killer. But as the riddles grow more sinister, and other threats begin to manifest, it’s clear someone has a bone to pick with both Lottie and me. Our very lives are in danger, proving that this case might just be too big for the both of us.

Great romantic cozy mystery series!
I enjoy reading about the fictional cozy seaside town of Cider Cove, Maine, and its quirky and mostly loveable cast of characters. I am reading this entertaining series in order. I think that is the best approach even though these books could certainly stand alone. If you read them out of order, you will open yourself up to spoilers. Just saying. Each book introduces new characters of both the human and animal persuasion in addition to more backstories for recurring characters.
Book 4: Bow Wow Big House
I thought it was a no-kill shelter?
Book Description: “A doggie fashion show is afoot at the local shelter and hopefully each cute pooch will find a home to call their own. I’ve been enlisted to help out with the endeavor and I’m more than happy to do it. But trouble seems to follow me wherever I go and that body I stumbled upon quickly complicates everything. Not to mention a certain someone is determined to out my ability to read minds, and this time, they just might succeed.”
The local animal shelter treats their animals better than they treat each other. Unfortunately, that leads to murder. Poor Jasper will have a heck of a time trying to keep Bizzy out of his investigation as the corpse lands at her feet. Literally. She must be a magnet of some kind for the dead.
Things are heating up between members of the Baker and Wilder families on the romantic side of the book and I’m not saying just between Bizzy and Jasper! Griffin, a sleek gray cat, and Pickles, an adorable tan chihuahua hold the honor of being the new animal characters introduced in this story.
I do not like reviews which include spoilers, so, you won’t find any here. What I will say is that this story was an entertaining, clean, fun, and easy read. If you enjoy reading a good, but weird, story centered on solving a mystery with plenty of red herrings that has a little romance and a lot of drama and angst mixed in, then I highly recommend this book to you.

Book 5: Murder Bites
Matchmaking at its worst!
Book Description: “Valentine’s Day is coming right up and the Country Cottage Inn is playing host to a bevy of romantic shenanigans. The very first love-inspired event on the agenda is a night for singles to mingle. But that mass blind date with Cupid goes horribly awry when one of the hosts ends up dead as a heart-shaped doornail. It certainly doesn’t make things better when I’m found holding the murder weapon, because as any good homicide detective knows, that puts me right at the top of the suspect list.”
When a slogan for an internet matchmaking service is “romance on demand”, what can you really expect? I doubt Bizzy expected to find another dead body at her inn. I am sure cradling the gun in her hand next to the deceased when the detective came on the scene was the very last thing she expected. I don’t know who to feel sorrier for… Jasper for having to investigate the murder with his girlfriend as the presumed suspect or Bizzy for interfering in her boyfriend’s investigation to try and prove her innocence. The authors have such awesome imaginations to dream up all these crazy situations and delightfully entertaining cast of characters. Pretty soon, I am going to have to create a flow chart to keep all the people’s connections straight in my mind. Ha-ha. Bizzy has some weird and zany familiar connections. That is an absolute truth. The authors introduce us to a new animal character in each story. They are always so adorable and just stir up all kinds of warm fuzzies in me. This story introduces Cinnamon, a coffee-colored curly-haired labradoodle pup, the runt out of the litter.
I do not like reviews which include spoilers, so, you won’t find any here. What I will say is that this story was an entertaining, clean, fun, and easy read. It is weird, but in an extremely entertaining way. If you enjoy reading a story interlaced with solving a murder, romance in every corner with a lot of drama and angst peppered throughout, then I highly recommend this book to you.

Book 6: Felines and Fatalities
Bizzy and Lottie are quite a pair!
Book Description: “A bake-off for senior citizens is being held at the inn, and baker Lottie Lemon has arrived as one of the judges. But when someone turns up dead, accompanied by a mysterious riddle, both Lottie and I are determined to find the killer. But as the riddles grow more sinister, and other threats begin to manifest, it’s clear someone has a bone to pick with both Lottie and me. Our very lives are in danger, proving that this case might just be too big for the both of us.”
Lottie Lemon, a baker from Vermont visits Bizzy’s inn as a judge for the upcoming bake-off. Accompanying the baker is her entourage consisting of her mother, and ugh… three other people. Whoops, I almost gave away a spoiler! Also included in Lottie’s entourage are her feline fur-babies, Pancake and Waffles. Two sweet, fluffy Himalayan cats with silver-blue eyes and long creamy yellow fur that takes over their whole bodies. Bizzy and Lottie have more than a few things in common, the least of which being they both consider themselves to be amateur sleuths. I can’t really go into the other things without sharing spoilers and that is something I try extremely hard not to do.
The competition is just getting underway when one of the sponsors falls dead to the ground at the judge’s table after eating one of Lottie’s confections. Professional and amateur sleuths are everywhere in this story. Investigators, or should I say investigations, are running amuck! These authors really know how to take you on a wild ride.
I do not like reviews which include spoilers, so, I hope you won’t find any here. What I will say is that this story was an entertaining, clean, fun, and easy read. Much of the story is very weird… but in a good way. If you enjoy reading stories created by extremely imaginative authors, then you will think you have hit gold with this book. Well for that matter, the whole series. Thinking in baker’s terms… compare this book to a favorite recipe combining the following ingredients: murder, mystery, romance, drama, and comedy. Of course, the fur-babies are the icing on the top.
