Loved this age/old story re-write.
A marvelous fictional retelling of the Exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt. Absolutely sweeping in style, content and character development, this book was pleasantly in stride with the Scriptures, unlike some novels that fictionalize things and forget about the spiritual meaning.
An amazing read!
I liked the characters and the history in this book. I have the next one to read, the first was so good.
It was very good. I wish it wasn’t continued, because I can’t buy the next book in the series. The author really knows her stuff about Egypt and the plagues.
What would it be like for the average Egyptian slave at the time of the plagues and through the exodus? An imaginative look at what life would have been like during this time through the eyes of an Egyptian slave girl.
I learned do much about Jewish tradition, and what it must have been like to be a part of the group of Israelites who left Egypt with Moses. I read all three books in this series and wish there were more. Wonderful characters, and so much history!
This book made the plagues of Exodus come alive.
Wow! I can’t wait for more like this from this author! Taking readers back to the culture of the Exodus helps us relate more to these events in the Bible. I loved it and didn’t want it to end.
Enjoyed reading this book. Loved the look at this event from the eyes of an Egyptian. Had enough history and biblical facts to make it believeable.
Made the story of Exodus come alive!
A different aspect from the character on the Exodus event as an Egyptian was a great story that way with a little romance of those times
Great historical christian fiction.
I love Biblical Fiction if we’ll done. “Counting Stars” was definitely that. I loved the characters and their interaction with other. Also the story had some villains you love to hate. Lol!!! I want more!!!
Really liked the beginning with its history surrounding the Israelites deliverance from Egypt, but towards the middle of the book and especially the end, it was not believable anymore and took a turn toward romance that turned me off.
A fabulously written story of the plagues of Egypt and Israel’s deliverance from the viewpoint of an Egyptian slave. Characters are very realistic, with flaws we can easily relate to. Wonderfully imaginative and sympathetic. I would love to read other books by this author.
It was factual and I appreciate that!!
I loved this book!!!
Loved this book. It takes what we know as the stories from the Old Testament and puts them in a different light. They aren’t changed but approached from the angle of the people who went through them, and tells their story.
VERY UPLIFTING…NO BAD LANGUAGE… SOME SUSPENSE
I will definitely read book 2 & 3 of this series!
I loved the interpretation of the Exodus story from the Egyptian side, to view how their lives might have been. It gave a realistic view of what they would be thinking as their world was impacted. I wasn’t sure that it was based on fact to have the main character Kiya and her family to leave Egypt with the Hebrews but it is fiction and was told well.
